We were in a house in the region, and we were looking for something nice to eat and ended up on the site of this hotel. On their site, Castell Peralada restaurant, which has been awarded a Michelin star, is one of the restaurants where you can eat. Reading about that and the fact that Toni Gerez is now the host there made us decide to book both hotel and restaurant. Upon checking in, we soon found out that the restaurant was not in the hotel, but a 30-minute walk away. I assumed that the hotel would provide transportation to and from the restaurant. Lots of back and forth, and it turned out to be possible. I was obviously surprised that we had to discuss this; a 5-star hotel should have something like this arranged. Also, suggesting something on your site is very misleading when you don't have it. I also did not understand the story that it was in the castle and not in the hotel. Indeed I don't know that the hotel is not a castle. But anyway. Our room was spotless and equipped with a large, comfortable bed and a more than a neat bathroom with a bath and shower. We had a lovely wine at the bar by the pool and then got ready for a lovely evening in the restaurant. As agreed, we were at the reception desk at the appointed time for our shuttle to the restaurant. When I checked in, I was told in no uncertain terms that a shuttle back could not be arranged; they only did that on weekends. It became a back and forth chattered again, and I was fed up; I said I'll arrange it myself, bye! Once at the restaurant, the host Toni Gerez arranged the transportation, and to my surprise, the hotel shuttle showed up again; why all the hassle. By the way, we slept wonderfully. In the morning, we enjoyed breakfast served at the table. The hotel is beautiful and modern; they just need to send the front desk on a course in hospitality that belongs to people who are used to 5-star hotels.…
I stayed two nights on a business trip to the Emporda wine region and was fortunate enough to be accommodated in this really nice hotel. The place is classy through and through with very friendly staff and my room (218) on the second floor had a nice balcony overlooking the driving range. The room was spacious with elegant fixtures and fittings, a very comfortable double bed light wooden flooring and a large bathroom with a big bath tub, separate walk in shower and bidet. The room had all you could ask for and excellent coffee from the "Nespresso" machine. Breakfast was simple but more than adequate, some items available form a central buffet and others available on request. The hotel was quite busy with weekend golfers but never gave the impression of being crowded. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful and the property is everything that should be expected of a luxury resort. I would certainly come back if in the area again.…
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Peralada. It started when we arrived and the bellman immediately greeted us to assist us with our luggage. Check-in was smooth, friendly, and flawless. The bellmen did a wonderful job telling us about the resort and the room. The rooms are spectacular. Definitely ask for a view over he pool towards the mountains. The rooms are very large and had everything you could ask for in a 5 star resort. The bathroom was also wonderful and the tub so relaxing. Food and beverage was very good. We experienced the Castle at Peralada for the 7 course tasting menu with wine paired and it was a true experience. The cheese trolley alone must have had over 50 cheeses. Just an incredible evening.
Nice hotel with golf course. Very professional handling of Covid measurements. Spacious rooms with large bathrooms and comfortable beds. The pool area could have a few more sun loungers as all were taken when we arrived at the pool. The service and food at the pool / garden restaurant was a bit poor. A bit of training and maybe some other dishes could make it much better. The main restaurant is great, nice design, friendly service and nice food. I bought two bottles of the delicious Peralada olive oil on departure and already wish I had bought more.
Great place to stay with all the luxuries of a modern hotel, with all the positives of a medieval village. Quiet town, great golf and spa. I don't need to say anymore because this place is great! I came for a wedding and split my room with a friend, very affordable for one night.
This is a beautiful, relaxing spa hotel where all the rooms are named for different opera instead of having room numbers. We had a suite which I highly recommend - you have your very own private terrace (this is also the entrance to your room) which is a very good size and well appointed with comfortable furniture. The room itself was very spacious with a huge bed, a comfortable sitting area, a gorgeous bathroom and and a generous dressing area with enough space to actually unpack and breathe including an enormous mirror to dress by. The furnishings are simple and spa like but cozy at the same time. We did a couples spa treatment with a red wine jacuzzi and 4 hands couples massage. It was in a private room with lots of candles along the floor for romantic lighting. The room had a private jacuzzi, shower and sauna plus a bed for relaxing between treatments. At the end we were served a lovely heaping plate of fruit and cava while relaxing. It was truly a decadent, unforgettable experience. When we were done we also took advantage of the rest of the water areas of the spa which were tranquil and lovely as well. This hotel and spa were so wonderful that we even extended our stay. The staff are very kind and welcoming, they brought a delightful bottle of cava to our room in honor of our anniversary which was a truly lovely touch. I can't say enough about our stay, it felt magical to us and we hope to return some day.…
This is a very nice hotel with a golf, thus mainly attended by people playing golf... There is a nice and large swimming pool but there are not enough umbrellas and not enough loungers on a sunny day. The restaurant is very good. The staff is very friendly. They offer a bvery convinient free shuttle to the castle to listen to concerts during the summer festival.
No doubt the rooms and location of this hotel are nice. Yet we were (very) disappointed to learn upon check-in that the pool was going to be closed because of a concert to be organised in the garden that night. On top, the hotel management did not respond to my complaint (no excuses, no "discount" on the bill). Guests are expecting from a hotel with such high standards more transparency, starting at booking phase. Had we known about the unavailability of the pool before booking, we would probably have rescheduled our plans : being forced to spend three hours in the room with our son before dinner was not our best holiday moment...
Indulge your self with one of the best SPA in Alt Empordá One of the most important mistakes that we make in our daily tasks are to work so hard that we do not pay attention to the body, until it sends us an alarm signal, too late... Mindfulness and being aware of our breathing and the moment is the only thing we need to do in order to concentrate for a few minutes and disconnect, to give a break to our selves...by all means. Adding to this, if you can find this zen moment in a idilic place like Peralada Wine Spa, where everything is made for relaxing and enjoyment, the perfect combination experience it´s served. Professional hands, attentive and prepared staff. Recommended 100%
Outstanding service in the Spa hotel and restaurant, I have not been received in a hotel for a long time like this 🥂🥂🥂In all points 10 out of 10 Congratulations to all the staff and people involved Best regards Théo Haering
