Albufeira Sol Hotel & Spa is lauded for its convenient location, within easy reach of beaches and local attractions, although access might be tricky for some. The service quality varies; guests have mentioned encounters with both attentive and indifferent staff. While the hotel's cleanliness and pool variety receive acclaim, there's criticism regarding the extra charges for amenities and the lukewarm jacuzzi.
Accommodations are generally spacious and well-appointed, yet occasional upkeep issues arise. The lively atmosphere is a hit, but it can be a bit much for those seeking tranquility.

Detailed Reviews
Myself and my partner spend a very enjoyable week at the Albuferia Sol at the beginning of October.
It is in a great location very near to the beach, and close to local shops and only 10 minutes from the old town
I wanted to list the many positives the hotel has but also highlight some negatives which I believe they should really look into and address!!
Positives:-
You really cant fault the staff at all, they are extremely accommodating from the moment we arrived, the reception staff very helpful and all bar staff and restaurant staff so friendly.
The Entertainment staff were just absolutely fantastic though. Tania, Iolanda, Hugo and Rui were amazing and an asset to this hotel. I really do hope they are appreciated by the hotel.
The Cleanliness of the hotel also was excellent. The cleaning staff were constantly doing this from morning till night around the hotel.
Great choice of food and drink in the Hotel and the rooms are spacious and have all your require in them and more!!
And finally they offer a hourly free bus into the old town which is great but be quick as it fills up very quickly!!!!
Negatives: -
Firstly I am no a negative person in the slightest but I feel these points need to be highlighted
The food in the restaurant as mentioned above was excellent no complaints there but it was very poorly labelled. In any eating buffet type restaurants all foods should be labelled. Its so important for people with allergies.
Drinks also very good and plenty of options but stay clear of the cocktails. They came straight from a machine which I think is a real shame when it is such a nice bar. Properly made cocktails on a night time would make the bar so so much better.
Also at 11pm until the close of the bar at Midnight you have to pay for your drinks. I am never a big fan of this at an all inclusive resort. The whole reason people go to a all inclusive resort is not to have this sort of situation. And to be honest they may as well of shut the bar at 11pm as the bar emptied as soon as people had to pay. No surprises there!!
The hotel really should tighten up security on the room where suitcases are held near reception. We left our suitcases there on arrival whilst awaiting our room being ready. This room was not guarded and also not locked. It was also located right next to the door to the entrance to the hotel. Any person was able to walk into this room at any time. The hotel 100% need to change this. Do not leave any valuables in this room would be my advice.
and finally the men’s toilets next to the restaurant area. These have motioned censored lights in them. Unless you are very good at multitasking and able to stand and do your business whilst waving your hands in the air to stop the lights going off and you being sent into total darkness this really is totally ridiculous. Just put normal lights in there!!!
Although I have noted a few negative points as well this is overall a great hotel and a lovely place to spend your holiday either as a couple of a family

very simple, this hotel re opened about a week ago after covided lock down. Staff 5/5 very hardworking, food 6/5 amazing fresh, nicely cooked and as long as you are are looking for healthy options you have nothing to worry about, especially vegetarian options (and I speak as a meat eater)
Hotel room nice and clean, drinks good enough and in smaller glasses helped to quell the alcoholics to drink as much. Staff really doing their best but evening entertainment was limited. Due to limited staff food and alcohol was delivered more slowly but we are living in strange times. Location was OK with around 20 minutes walk with a 4 year old in tow. Would not come back, but I never come back to any hotel as the world is a big place and you need to experience new things. Covid measures were good and hotel can be proud of themselves.

The hotel had lots of Covid measures wearing masks inside unless seated at a table, in the bar or restaurant and wearing a plastic glove to wear while getting your choice of food using the utensils. There was also constant cleaning which was excellent to see.
Our pool view rooms were excellent with good air con, comfy beds, TV with a couple of English channels and WiFi. The bathroom is modern with a great shower, they provide shower gel, shampoo and lovely liquid soap.
The main pool was heated and was a nice temperature. The entertainment staff worked hard playing some good music and organising games Anna was a star but they were all good. They started with their excellent dance to their catchy music. They finished with pool aerobics which got lots of participants. The sun loungers were ok with towels available for 20 euro deposit. If you wanted a good sun bed with a large parasol you had to get up before 8.00. which is typical.
The beer was good the measures for the spirits were on the strong side, so you had to guide the bar staff to get the drinks to your own taste.
The food was generally ok as most all inclusive it becomes very samey there was always something you could have and it was good quality however Breakfast and Lunch much better than evening meals. We personally went out for our evening meal every other night.
The evening entertainment was quite poor we saw a couple of ok singers and Karaoke once, and Bingo once and a quiz twice.
I would suggest you have a paid Bingo a couple of times a week, Live Singers every other night or possibly kids Disco then Adults disco or Karaoke, the lighting needs to be more dimmed in the main bar area. I would also recommend leaving the music at the pool area on low when the entertainment team go for their lunch break.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Albufeira Sol, and wouldn't hesitate to return. Emailed the hotel prior to our arrival who were very helpful in arranging transfers for us at a reasonable price of 38 euros for 3 adults, we also advised them we would be arriving at midday and requested a high floor pool view room. On arrival at 12pm we were told we could use the AI straight away, we headed to lunch and by 1pm our room was ready - a high floor pool view room as requested. We were pleasantly surprised with the food at the hotel - a big variety of different meat, fish and veggie options however do agree with many of the reviews that it is not very well labelled. Pool bar snacks were burgers, hot dogs, chips, croissants and fruit. Lots of the reviews mentioned about the cocktails being pre made from a machine however we didnt find this to be a problem and having tried them all, quite enjoyed them! The entertainment at the hotel would be very good if travelling with children, but not so enjoyable travelling as 3 adults, however they do try their best and are very friendly. The hotel staff work extremely hard all day long and it certainly shows, the hotel is spotless! Staff constantly walking round the restaurent and pool area disposing of used glasses and plates etc. Location of the hotel was brilliant - 10 minute walk from the strip, and a 5 minute taxi ride from the hotel. We found the Albuferia Sol to be brilliant value for money, and would definitely return!

We stayed here as a couple for our anniversary - We had a really late flight so arrived well after midnight.
The gentleman on reception was absolutely lovely and friendly, we were made to feel welcome straight away.
The reception area is stunning, and exceptionally clean with a gorgeous chandelier as it’s key feature.
We stayed in a room with a terrace and a little kitchenette area, again super clean and comfy.
I think the only addition to this type of room which would take it from good to great would be Sun loungers instead of chairs and a table, these rooms are great if you want peace and quiet and to get a great tan, so if the hotel add sunloungers it would be 💋
The pool area is small, almost too small for the size of the hotel but it is heated - we didn’t spend more than a couple of hours down there just due to the size and lack of sun beds.
Again, small things that would take this hotel into great territory would be the addition of extra seating in the pool/outdoor area.
Food was good, breakfast was probably our favourite- it gets a bit too rammed if you time it wrong, would have loved to have been able to take our food to the room instead of having to stay in the restaurant.
Our favourite part of the hotel was the Spa area, why no one else used it was beyond us (but we loved having it to ourselves) it was clean and felt really luxurious with a Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, sauna, gym and relaxation room. You have to pay £12.50 for a couple but this gives you access all day (during the opening times) It is highly recommended that you give it a go.
We tried a couple of restaurants near the hotel, including Made in India, The Mexican round the corner and Rusty Co all of which were great and the food was amazing (especially the Mexican)
It’s a lovely hotel, the staff are great and it’s in a really good location. Few tweaks and it would be perfect!

Visited in October as a birthday treat . Turned up at 1pm no room till 4. Rooms basic I put my cardigan on a sofa while I unpacked picked it up couldn’t stand the smell the sofa had obviously had lots of sweaty summer bodies on it and not been cleaned ! Cardigan was placed in a bag outside . Maid service never turned up till 5.30pm at the earliest we turned them away. Meals appalling. Breakfast powdered scrambled egg , sausage that could only be described as tasting like saw dust even the cereal was stale. Other meals not cooked as you stood put out so we’re dry/ tasteless & cold we ate once and had to eat out the rest of our stay . You couldn’t get a China cup or glass with a drink coffee was served in paper cups . Queuing to actually get a drink minimum of 20 people in a que . Rooms in desperate need of refurbishment. It looks like the reception has had a facelift but rooms and facilities shabby and very dated. Spa was pleasant but after being told the price were charged extra on checkout . Im all all inclusive holidays we’ve been on hotel provides kettle toaster cereal to get a light breakfast before you leave if u have an early flight there was nothing . Hotel is a 3 star at a push

Mostly a good experience with just a few minor negatives. Check in isn’t until 4 which we weren’t aware of, we were given our wrist bands to use the restaurant while we waited, despite being told to check back after a while, the attitude of the receptionist wasn’t great when asking if our room was ready. Most of the food is of good quality but the burgers and sausages for example were of low quality and gristly, the rest of the food was good and varied each night. The all inclusive drinks were ok but the cocktails were a let down as they came from an automated machine and did not contain fruit juices, ice, garnish etc. The restaurant staff were friendly mostly but the table staff are a bit keen to clear your table, as in once a guest puts down their knife and fork they are already clearing your plate away before you swallow your food which can be a bit irritating.
The room was very clean, a good size, the bed was comfortable and air conditioning in each sleeping area. One of the air con units wasn’t cooling very much and on arrival the exterior fan was in bits on the balcony with tools left out but reception had this rectified very quickly.
The complimentary transport to the beach areas was good, it ran every hour with the last pick up at 18.25.
Location was good, approx 10 mins walk to the main town bars and restaurants with shops and supermarkets nearby. A taxi to the beach was around €5 with Uber.
The pool was kept clean with plenty of seating although the indoor pool is closed for maintenance but this was not an issue.
Overall we enjoyed our stay, the hotel is very clean, the food was ok, the drinks could have been better, some form of entertainment was on each evening and the atmosphere throughout was good and family friendly.

Good Points
1. staff are friendly. reception are helpful and speak good english and waitresses in the restaurant are very on the ball clearing tables etc. cleaners very good.
2. entertainment team are great. good energy and do 5 activities per day good for kids and adults. night time entertainment not so great.
3. hotel is clean, toilets cleaned regularly and bedrooms are big. cleaners come daily but don’t change towels often
4. good selection of drinks on all inclusive and food served regularly. 300 or 200ml cups. water is cold if ordered from the bar not taken from water dispenser.
5. location is good. they do have free buses to beach but we walked each day. approx 10 min walk to beach and strip if you fancy that
Bad Points (compared to other 4 star all inclusive we have been to)
1. no al a carte restaurant on site to have something different to eat
2. there is only one outdoor pool (with a baby pool next to it which isn’t really an extra pool) so gets busy and there are not enough sun beds for the size of the hotel. you will struggle to get one and they have all been reserved by about 7.30. no where else to sit in sun due to only one small pool area.
3. night time entertainment isn’t great and this is either in a room which is far too small and most people have to stand or outside where there is no entertainment space and people are expected to sit on the floor or on sunbeds with poor view
4. food tastes nice and although there is a big selection it is the same thing every night just with a different meat. kids food is only ever pizza pasta and chips - never a chicken nugget, fish gougon for example. they don’t do theme nights for example so never anything spicy or different in taste just serve the same thing every day.
5. if you arrive after dinner on check in, they don’t leave you a snack like a sandwich fruit water etc so although you have paid for the first night all inclusive they don’t give you anything for dinner like other hotels do
6. no ice cream served at snack time throughout the day you have to pay for it
7. you have to pay 7.50 euros per day to even access the gym / jacuzzi area
8. £100 deposit has to be paid for the room on check in. there is no iron in the room and wifi doesn’t reach the bedrooms
9. on site photo guy is very annoying

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your great review of your recent stay at Albufeira Sol Hotel & SPA. It was a pleasure to read all your compliments and we would like to thank you. Regarding the less so positive comments we would like to comment some of them: - We do have many time during the week a selection of fish fingers and chicken nuggets with the pizzas & pastas and all other food types. - We do have three thematic nights a week. All Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) - We serve free ice creams daily to children in the pool bar, and in the lunch and dinner period. Have just returned from a last minute 5 day break from the newly refurbished hotel. Staff were always friendly (apart from the one receptionist who I think took her training from GP receptionist school back in the UK). Food was ok if not a bit cold at times, 3 vegetarian options available which were always good and fresh pizzas being made throughout lunch and dinner service. Some queues at times if you went at your allocated time for dinner but we found if you went 10 minutes earlier or later the queues had died down. Hotel and rooms were spotless but the pool area needed a good scrub. It’s a shame they have refurbished the hotel but ran out of time for the pool as the sun beds and patios were not the best. Spa and a la carte restaurant not open which was a shame plus bus into the old town was not running however an Uber was just €4!! Entertainment was very poor of an evening but the team tried very hard in the daytime. Doubt we would visit again.

Firstly as per my booking I reserved a studio with two single beds, I was allocated a double on arrival and when I called reception to advise that was incorrect was informed there was no rooms available with two single beds, how can that be when it is what I booked and paid for? Secondly, the cleaning of the bathroom and the floors is not to standard. On arrival I had to remove clusters of hairs from the floor. Thirdly, the majority of the sun beds at the pool are broken, I’ve actually got back pain and bruising from using them as you cannot sit or lie properly coupled with the fact you need to lift and carry them yourself from a storage location to a spot at the pool, if you don’t reserve a bed early enough, despite it being forbidden. There’s simply no pool staff on hand to assist. For a 4 star property these all amount to a very unsatisfactory stay and more than enough reasons not to return. Especially as the hotel didn’t even respond to my messages.
