Beautiful. Nostalgic. Incredibly special. Staff superb. There for my birthday and Christoph at main dining room made space for us to enjoy a very special meal. Surrounding area in Kronberg was easily within walking distance and was a wonderful authentic representation of the Germany I’ve seen in books. While there for the two days , we were unable to utilize the back terrace area with reception stating it was ‘too cold.’ Could access one area through the bar, but had to buy overpriced drinks to enjoy it. Would definitely return!
With a 5pm flight from Frankfurt airport, it made lots of sense to stay here the night before ( our last night of a 2 month driving tour of Europe!). NO signs to get to the hotel was VERY problematical, but once there, the place was great! VERY friendly ladies at reception, great room atop a tower with a very large balcony with views. Room not big, but nice windows on 3 sides for views, and it felt like a fairytale room! Dinner was a special event for the castle( 4 times a year!) expensive 89 euro buffet on their gorgeous garden terrace. We had the best table and while it was for sure way overpriced, and the service there was not very good( unlike the rest of the hotel), we had a superb dining experience! Will return for sure!
Planned to visit the Schlosshotel Kronberg as part of a longer journey on the way home to Denmark. Before even going, we wanted to book a table in the restaurant for the evening and was told, that the only thing we could, was joying the BBQ event, which was buffet for 89 euro each ex drinks. We found it really expensive, but didn't see any other option. On the day of arrival we got stock in traffic and could see, that our arrival wouldn't be before 8pm. Called the reception to find out if we could do some in-room dining instead of the BBQ buffet, when arriving so late. And here the service was hard to find.. First of all, we were here informed that there actually was other opportunities for dinner than the BBQ buffet, which we initially wasn't told. Secondly we were informed that the BBQ buffet was from 6-9 pm, meaning that we would have only one hour for this. And that a cancellation should have been done 7 days in advance. All of the information was news to us at this point. But they would make sure, that the buffet would be open for sometime longer for us. So we arrived and what happend. The buffet was taken away at 9pm sharp. Next thing is the bar. Came in to the bar at 10pm and was told that the bar was closing and we couldn't get anything. Asked if we could have something to bring to the room and after staff consideration we could have beer or wine - no cocktails. In the folder in the room, the opening hours of the bar is until 11pm. Besides this, poor wifi and some of the staff that really didn't meet the guests in a friendly way. Looking at the price level and what we got out of it, we feel pretty ripped for 1 hour buffet for 89 euro each and the lacking service level in a stunning place like this.…
By far the best aspect of the hotel is the fact that this is a castle and it is a very unique opportunity to stay in one. This includes the grounds and the view. Other strong aspects include proximity to Frankfurt, the charming town of Kronberg itself, and also participation in the Hyatt loyalty program. It falls short in that the rooms are not much to be excited about and lack air conditioning (while common in some hotels in Germany, we did not expect for this). Also breakfast is excluded even though most SLH properties include when booked through Hyatt. Overall we might return if we happen to need a night in Frankfurt, but since we’ve experienced it once, not sure it’s entirely worth returning.
Not coming back here. Rooms woefully small and stuffy (a/c not working well). Wifi so slow that it’s useless - doesn’t work well even in the reception area. Breakfast - tables dirty, not cleaned by the staff, food not replenished. Staff not very friendly. A waitress yelled at one of members of our group like it was 1939 not 2022. You can see some past glory, but the place falls short on many levels.
Staff is somewhat friendly but very unaccommodating when needed. Continual problems with key card and in general very slow service. A beautiful wedding venue in a beautiful setting. Delicious food and great vegetarian options. Very strange
My husband and I started our trip of a lifetime with a week at Schlosshotel Kronberg. While the Schloss and grounds are nothing short of spectacular, the thing that put our visit over the top was the impeccable service and hospitality of the team. Each person who helped us met us with great enthusiasm for the Schloss, it's history, amenities and charm. Our room was comfortable and quiet with a lovely view of the golf course. The bathroom left nothing wanting and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was a treat everyday and dinner on the terrace was delicious and very relaxing. We ended our stay by having drinks on the terrace above which a party was taking place. The party was beautiful and we were unwitting recipients of the great music and glamour of the night. To top it off the bar manager came around to check on us and crafted personal cocktails for us based on our individual tastes. Delicious and fun! Shlosshotel Kronberg is perfectly situated, close to Frankfurt but not so close as to feel the hustle bustle of the city. The little town of Kronberg is also delightful and offers services that one might need while traveling as well. We look forward with great anticipation for our next opportunity to visit!…
An awesome hotel with classical charm! Top restaurant chef who makes dreamlike sauces. Just ask him for your favourite recipe. The hotel is very pet friendly and the park is right next door for a lovely long walk. Golfers are also most welcome. The swimming pool is in Königstein and the hotel offers a limousine service to the pool.
Book it! Its great. The staff was super, the hotel is beautiful inside and out, food was really good, amazing wine list...a nice quiet stay on a Monday/Tuesday. I'd stay here every chance I got. You 'll love it
Everything was amazing... the room, the service, the food and the tour. It was more than what we expected. We live in Kronberg, 7min from the castle and we hope that this kind of offer for local residents become a regular thing.
