This resort absolutely blew away any (already high) expectations I had. Its beautiful monastery-style architecture sits tucked away in the countryside of Umbria. Away from the outside world and overlooking rolling hills of green, it’s the perfect escape for relaxation. Breakfast, lunch & dinner are served with local wine. Honestly some of the best ingredients I’ve ever had ANYWHERE— likely because all ingredients are grown on the property and have a fresh farm to table element. The staff were all so friendly and helpful despite my husband and I knowing very little Italian. There is some cell service throughout the property if you need to check emails. My favorite part of the experience is hard to say— the gorgeous and luxurious aesthetics of the property, the friendly atmosphere, delicious food, yoga room overlooking the hillside, the evening steam room. Everything was 10/10+++. Thank you for the refresher Eremito!

Eremito is a very special place ... You blink with your eyes and it's a millionaires resort, you blink again with your eyes and it's a spartan monastery. It has a monk's rhythm but no pressure. The lunch and the silent dinner are excellent "as if an angel is peeing over your tongue". A romantic fireplace for tranquillising with a book. The bath area has been refurbished with a Turkish sauna and a pool / Jacuzzi. The surrounding are is great for walking. The rooms are small but has everything you need. This visit was my second time… just for one night … I really recommend staying at least 2 or 3 night … so I will return.

It was an fabulous experience to stay at Eremito. We only stayed for one night, however it was our best experience over all (14 nights). It was an elegant and innocent place. The place is more likely a monastery I think it’s best place for healing and recovery. Since the place was in the middle of the mountain, there was no internet connect nor gps signal. It was impossible for us to find the place in the dark. So the staff came down to the city and guide us to get there and we paid 50 euro for that. I think it’s reasonable since it took 45min from the city to the hotel. Just remember to get there little early (3-5pm). I definitely recommend this hotel for a new experience.

Do you ever try to feel the way you felt when you were a child and struggle, because you feel like numb and that nothing can touch you the way it did when you were little. For the first time I rediscovered perceiving an experience with all my senses in this place. The fire after dinner, the taste of Sergio’s food, the beautiful vibes from Christal, the fear I felt approaching the barking dog during our walk, the wooden shutters, the stone built, the vegetation all around, the silent dinner with the Gregorian chants.. you can keep your grown up mind and start finding faults in this place, but if you only unleash your inner child, this place will take you by surprise and enable you to rediscover that the little and most simple things are what makes us feel at peace and alive.

Spent just two nights here. Would love to return and stay for a week or even two. Some of the things I loved are: 1) the beautiful building, inside and out. It looked old, although it wasn't 2) sitting by the window in my natural-looking peaceful room, looking at the hills 3) relaxing in the Quiet Garden, listening to the water fountain and birds, watching butterflies 4) experiencing the evening meal, sitting together in candlelight, listening to amazing Gregorian Chant music 5) talking with other guests during breakfast and lunch, sitting outside on a lovely verandah/terrace 6)enjoying the healthy and tasty vegetarian food, the perfect amount for me. I never knew what to expect (although there was an Italian menu displayed beforehand) and ate all my food with gratitude and appreciation. It was good not to have to make a decision - there were no 'choices' at lunch and dinner time, other than (at lunch and breakfast) whether we wanted tea or coffee. 7) the people living and working at Eremito were very welcoming and friendly 8) I felt I could relax, do what I wanted during the day, e.g. read or think or go for a walk 9)the two hour walk (one hour there, another hour back) to and from a local group of houses with a very welcoming cafe (with a toilet - always welcome during a walk!) 10) relaxing indoors on the low seating in the lounge area, before the evening meal 11) looking at some of the books on display for us to read during our stay, e.g. I read a book about being a lone traveller, also there was a book with pictures of Eremito During my stay I felt I had everything I needed. I didn't miss a TV or mobile phone one little bit. In fact, I felt I could relax more knowing my mobile phone wasn't going to ring. Money/holiday well spent
