Experience a Tuscan life in the wonderful Dimora Santa Margherita. The careful and authentic restoration of this rural house will remain in your heart: the suites are designed with taste and great attention to detail, with cozy furnishings and all have private gardens and views of the olive groves. The Tuscan terracotta floors and stone walls make this environment intimate and fascinating at the same time. The small village is ideal for those seeking an intimate and romantic atmosphere. Relax on the salt water pool at sunset, then sample local recipes and wine at the restaurant. Time passes more slowly in Dimora Santa Margherita.

We choose this hotel based on the great experience of our friends and, also, multiple reviews from other guests. Unfortunately, not the same experience. Service was … unfriendly.. to say at least. One of the owners made us feel unwelcome from the beginning. After driving for several hours to Tuscany, last 10 min on challenging entrance road to the hotel make us completely exhausted. No welcome sympathy… just dry check in. Unfortunately, no member of staff who can speak English. Hotel is in charming, with fantastic pneumatique view but very isolated. Out of 6 days of stay, 3 days were not available for dinner. Last minute notes, means, we found out about it at the breakfast. No alternatives suggested, no other options or help to make holidays easier. Do it yourself. The dinners which we had, were very simple but very expensive. Wine list limited. Again, no suggestions or help from the staff. Nice pool. But , again , do not expect anybody to look after you: offer a drink (30 degrees outside) or just simply be interested in well-being of your guests… After few days , I just wanted to escape.. and I did .. When book you book this hotel , make sure Elisabetta will be there; without her its nightmare!!!

Response from William Boselli, Proprietario at Dimora Santa Margherita

Little did we know we would love this isolated Tuscan villa. Elizabet the owner had to retrieve us in town as Expedia had the wrong directions. Peaceful, relaxing offers amazing dinner and unbelievable breakfast. Should have booked a week for relaxation. Will definitely be back!

Very quiet, comfortable place at the end of the world. Amazing owners Elizabetta and William, always helpful and charming. Beautiful views, especially from the swiming pool. Difficult to find the way to get there.

Og slow on the bumby road for 10 minutes and find a Pearl of a small hotel With excellent food and service. We arrived a bit late for lunch, but no problem. They set up a Nice table on out porch and we could choose whatever we wanted from the menù. Very nice pool, and the view - panoramic! Only like 6 suites, and we got offered an Upgrade as Our room suite was given away. However, a bit disappoining as we had booked the blue Family suite especially for the view. We therefore opted for the second best instead of the Upgrade to a nicer suite. We a complemetary wine to make up for it. Very nice dinner as well, but as it was only the two of us there, it dragged on more than needed. Breakfast also really good, and served private on our terrace We would make sure to come back to this luxury if we can. A true gem of tranquility.

We arrived late and it was dark, unable to see the countryside we were surprised when the road turned to an unmade track but the satnav said keep going so we did. After bumping our way down we came upon some gates with lights beyond. We received a warm welcome and a lovely dinner. The next morning we were able to appreciate just how remote it was and the amazing view in every direction. Staying for the weekend we soaked up the calm and enjoyed breakfast together with another meal to end our stay. And after going up and down the track a few times we became used to the bumps.

We stayed at Dimora Santa Margherita for five days. We were welcomed by Elisabetta and William very cordially and immediately felt at home in their beautifully renovated 18th century farm. The place radiates rest and peace and from each of the six lodgings you have marvellous views. Dimora is isolated, though; it takes a 45 minutes' drive to reach the world outside. What is more, the last 2,5 km to the hotel consist of an unpaved road, the owners had told us before, but still it was not a pleasant drive, to say the least, a drive which took us 15 minutes. Certainly not inviting to make daily trips... Fortunately we could have dinner at Dimora. The first two days William proved to be a very good cook. His homemade ravioli was exquisite and certainly so his Chianina (Tuscany's speciality), the best meat we've ever tasted. We' never forget it. Unfortunately on the third day the restaurant was closed and the last two days William had gone and with him the high quality of the dinners. Lunch was not offered, but a simple question whether we could have a snack was enough for Elisabetta to prepare something very nice from what happened to be available in the kitchen that day (ham, cheese, pasta). Dimora Santa Margherita is the ideal place to take a few days of rest and enjoy nature after your beautiful Tuscany tour.

Views of the rolling hills are just sublime. It feels like a world away as it's so quiet there. be careful with the road down though. It's very bumpy, and thankfully we didn't have a low driving car with us. We stayed in a lovely suite as part of our honeymoon. Bed was huge and very comfy. Room was decorated very well, every details has been thought out. The way the hotel is set out, you always feel you have the place to yourself. I loved that we could eat breakfast and dinner in a position that allowed privacy. They happily provided options for vegetarians and allowed us to have input in this which was a touch we have never experienced before at any high end hotel. Food was delicious and reasonable for it's quality. There was tea/coffee in the room along with a mini bar fridge but the drinks were quite expensive. I was surprised that you need to pay for coffee or tea in the room when you take into account of the price per night so we didn't bother. Overall, we would stay again. It's a luxurious place, the owners are very accommodating and made an effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible.

A little overdue in writing this - but what a beautiful place! We were so impressed that when we arrived the first night we had already made up our mind to cancel the next week's plans and stay. William made some delicious food, Elisabetta was a great hostess and particularly compassionate when we heard some devastating family news on the third day. The rooms were beautiful, luxuriously appointed and each with a stunning view. I don't think in all my travels I have ever been somewhere where the view for 360 degrees is so consistently beautiful and unspoiled. Thank you for letting us spend such a time with you.

My wife and I stayed with Elisabetta and William for five nights as the base for our driving holiday in Tuscany. From the first time we emailed to enquire about staying to the moment we drove away Elisabetta made us feel like valued and welcome guests. She could not have been more welcoming and our stay lived up to all our high hopes! William and Elisabetta have completely renovated the Dimora and their flair for design, their attention to detail and their commitment to quality are real hallmarks of the whole place. From the individually designed rooms, each with its own quirky features to the layout of the pool to catch the best of the sun and the stunning views they have thought of everything. They make you feel like visitors in their home, rather than just hotel guests but at no point did they become intrusive or overpowering. They were happy to chat about the beautiful house and grounds and its history but they never imposed on the privacy of our holiday - a perfect balance in fact. Breakfast and dinner were served on tables in the central courtyard outside the rooms and the service was excellent. The food was great, and although there was no choice, you eat the set menu for the evening, it changed each day and there was nothing we didn't enjoy. It is a wonderful place just to relax and drink in the fabulous views. There are also plenty of wonderful trips out to visit some of the best that Tuscany has to offer in terms of tourist attractions (Sienna is just an hour away) as well as beautiful countryside and stunning little villages and towns, not to mention more vineyards than you could visit in a month! The road down to the Dimora is a bit of a challenge, especially if you are driving a sports car as we were, but with care and allowing plenty of time it is manageable and is well worth the challenge. We had a wonderful stay and will be back - thank you Elisabetta and William!
