I visited Dunmore East last Tuesday with my mother. And even though the weather was miserable we were pleased to see a lovely open fire when we landed into The Strand. The bar was quite busy but we got a great seat in a little alcove that looked directly at Hook lighthouse. The alcove was a little bit colder that...

When we arrived we were waiting for 10 mins for somebody to check us in. Booked a sea view double room online which cost that little bit extra. When we arrived we were led to the smallest double room we've ever seen at the back of the hotel. When questioned about a sea view room the lady got angry and...

The bathroom however was freezing more like a painted up outhouse than a bathroom. There was no heat source in the bathroom. It was not a particularly cold night....

We stayed for two nights 18th and 19th September, 2013 to attend our daughter's wedding nearby. Everybody has their own expectations of hotels but the Strand Inn was perfect for us. Bright, clean and comfortable room with double doors out onto a balcony overlooking the beach. Quiet at night so that you could enjoy a restful nights sleep, and the...

booking was simple.... getting there was easy... and check in was a breeze.... the room was more than adequate, lovely comfy bed but had to laugh (had a fit of the giggles) at the sloping floor in the ensuite.... this is not a new Inn by any means.... it has character and is a little quirky... loved it. The room...
