My wife and I planned a 12 day stay in El Salvador. We ended up staying at Mizata the entire time. There was maybe a couple days of our stay that there was more than 6 people in the water at a given time. The food was outstanding. Seriously top notch. The staff strived to please, and were very genuine. I got a bug from maybe swallowing sea water on a heavy day or something, and last few days just wanted chicken rice and avocado, and they accommodated that no problem as well. They had horses you could ride on the beach. And you could actually bring them to a gallop which was exhilarating. I didn't take advantage until one of our last days, and wish I had done it each evening that I wasn't in the water. Was really a cool experience to race down the beach, and it stretched a lot further down than it first looked. Also highly recommend signing up for a few massages. They were affordable and the lady was truly a pro. She got my wife in spots that made her question how the masseuse knew she needed attention in those areas. Same with me. They had two pool areas to sit at and we opted to spend most of our time at their original pool. It was a bit more peaceful and relaxing, and it was right in front of the point break. After noon at the pool by the restaurant, deep house was being played a bit too often for our taste. Weekends they bring in a live DJ to turn up the vibe, but it got to be a bit too much on the weekdays when your trying to unwind and chill. The original pool had really comfortable seating though and spots to lay out on. We got lucky and the surf was firing. The beach break was a bit too heavy for my wife, but on the last day we noticed with the smaller swell that she could have managed. They will offer a package that can include a trip to nearby waterfalls and their famous volcano that has the basin with the beautiful water. We weren't offered either option before arriving, but heard from people who went that it was a great time and worth it. We were going to do the waterfall, but the bug required me to be close to a toilet at all times for the last few days of the trip. Just make sure to follow through or schedule elements of your package. Part of ours included photography, but I got photos from one of my first sessions, and none from any of the big swell days which was pretty disappointing. We also opted to take the all inclusive package which was advertised and explained as 3 meals a day and 3 non alcoholic beverages. Be sure to clarify what that entails upon check in as we ordered more food than what was included in the food package. That was the one part that they should tweak in their program. It would make more sense if they offered a daily budget that the all inclusive buys you. The cheesecake in the photo was next level delicious btw.

Just returned home from an unbelievable five night stay at Mizata. From the moment the driver locates you with the easy to read sign at the airport, (thanks Rocco) till the time they drop you off, the experience is top notch. Epic, warm water, right hand point break, right in front of the bungalows. You can keep an eye on the tides, and wind right from your bed, or the porch. AC and warm showers in the super clean rooms. Great food at the restaurant. The overall vibe is super mellow which is exactly what I wanted. Stress free. I didn't want to pack a ton of activities into my stay. But, if you want to hike and ride horses, and much more, you certainly can. The whole staff knows and remembers your name after the first day. I will definitely be back. Hopefully sooner than later. Get there if you can. Steve

Mizata Resort is the best place I’ve ever been in my life. My girlfriend and I spent 3 nights in one of the beach bungalows (which definitely wasn’t long enough). We got great waves the whole time between the point, peak and beach break with almost zero crowds. The room was fantastic; great aircon, massive & super comfy bed and a front veranda with chairs, hammock and full view of the surf. Staff couldn’t have been any more helpful and friendly; Daniel at concierge was amazing and helped us organise car trips, and always made sure we were having a great time. It’s got the feeling of a small resort where everyone knows your name, with high class facilities and amenities. And I can’t really describe how good the food was, apart from excelenté, made even better by seating next to the pool for meals watching the surf. Already planning our next visit! Thank you Mizata Resort!
