We drove up to the inn at 3PM ... an hour ahead of official check-in time and when all the doors were locked with nobody home, we almost left to find other accommodations but we’re so glad we didn’t. We returned at 4PM and were warmly greeted at the door by a lovely and very attentive hostess, Khris. She gave us a full tour of the property while sprinkling in the history of the property, their long renovation process and tidbits about life in the north country for she, her husband Jaime and their two daughters and 5 dogs (who enthusiastically greeted us too). After 30 minutes, we felt like family and this was our home as much as theirs. Later, Jaime arrived and the fun began ... drinks and hunting and hockey stories and lots of laughs. My wife ordered a mojito which Khris made by gathering fresh mint, making fresh honey simple syrup and squeezing fresh limes. My wife who is very picky about her mojito was completely satisfied. Later, Jaime lit a monster bonfire. We then went to our cozy, comfortable and immaculately clean room for a great night’s sleep until the roosters crowed at 0600. That was OK though because a rooster meant chickens and that meant a breakfast with hours old eggs, bacon, home fries, pancakes with strawberry-rhubarb topping and fresh whipped cream. I think there was toast and homemade jam too.

Any negatives ... not really. I missed the usual toiletries in the bathroom and the coffee could’ve been stronger to my taste but these are very minor issues brought up just to prove no stay is 100% perfect but this was very close. We would’ve slept better with some AC on a warm/humid night but the sounds of the night with open windows was nice too! We are going back to visit these new friends and awesome, hard-working and entertaining innkeepers!

My husband and I have stayed here a few times. Twice we have stayed as Bed and Breakfast guests, and once we rented the entire 5 BR Lodge as a family. We cannot say enough positive things about this Lodge. First, your hosts Khris and Jamey go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable in their home. The breakfasts are the BEST! Home fries, bacon, sausage, corned beef hash, fresh eggs made to order, pancakes, waffles (heart shaped for Valentine’s Day) with homemade chocolates and roses for the women on Valentines Day, coffee, juices, toast . . . The bedrooms are all individually themed, with high quality linens - the beds are very comfy and the sheets are so luxurious. We have come here during the winter to go snowmobiling right from the property. It is also so enjoyable to watch the many deer come into the back yard to feed. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here; we are coming back again in a few days to rent the entire Lodge for another family snowmobiling getaway trip.

We rented out the whole lodge and property for the weekend with family. The lodge was beautiful and rustic, and had all the old fashioned antiques and hunting decor you would expect. My nieces enjoyed the bunk room that had custom built full-sized bunks and the teenagers enjoyed the lower level with their own separate hangout room. Each room had its own theme and we loved that each room had its own bathroom. The grounds were beautiful with a lovely sitting area as well as tons of picnic tables for everyone to enjoy the food. The
Owners accommodated our needs/requests and we had a wonderful breakfast all-together before we left and they had a beautifully large dining room/table enough for us all. They had a large garage converted into country bar where many people gathered and kept the fun going at night (and our back-up plan if it rained but we had an amazing sunny day.)

We had our annual gathering of friends here and the owners (Jamie and Christine) were amazing! They were friendly and accommodated all of our needs. Some of us stayed at their campsites and others stayed in their cozy lodge. If you choose to stay in the lodge they also provide a scrumptious homemade breakfast. The decor of the lodge is outstanding and the rooms very clean. We have already booked for next year. There are trails for riding ATV's and snowmobiles right from the lodge that span for miles. I now want to get a snowmobile and make a trip up this winter. I would highly recommend this gem in the woods to anyone.

Innkeepers were helpful and cordial, breakfast was wonderful and the family table allowed us to visit easily with other guests. The setting is beautiful.

I would have liked to have a place to read a book. The common living room is huge and has a real hunting lodge feel. Lots of cozy furniture.however, there were no lights in room that would allow for reading.

The guest rooms are very, very small and filled with antique wilderness decor, which greatly reduces room for guest to put any of their luggage out. No end table or reading light on my side of bed, no shelf, hook or surface for my toiletries in bathroom (I kept my bag on floor). No toiletries supplied but one small bar of soap, no hair dryer, no cup, no room to put a suitcase out on floor, no rack or surfaces for luggage (I put mine under the bed). Though the inn has charm and the innkeepers are lovely people, we found our stay frustrating.

I stayed for four nights and from there explored northern New Hampshire. Kris and Jamie are friendly hosts, very responsive to guests' needs and Jamie makes a fearsome breakfast. It's peaceful and comfortable and a great place to meet other adventuresome travelers. It's crammed full of antiques and wilderness memorabilia, has a great northern woods feel.

What a great place to stay! My husband and I took our ATV to do some riding on the beautiful trials that we accessed directly off the property. We loved the variety of riding including straightaways, mud, and some pretty gnarly trails. Our hosts at the lodge were very gracious and we had amazing cooked-to-order breakfasts every morning. Now we want to go back for snowmobiling!

We recently stayed at the Lodge and had an amazing experience. From the time we arrived until the time we left the owners made us feel at home! The lodge and all the rooms are top notch, and hats off to the chef as breakfast was amazing! They owners both go above and beyond to make you feel right at home! Absolutely the best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed at. I would rate it 10 stars!

This was our first time staying at a Bed & Breakfast. We weren’t sure about it at first but the place was beautiful; very rustic. The owner was great. She made us feel right at home. She made everyone breakfast each morning. Really made us feel spoiled. It was nice chatting with the other guests too. And we can’t forget about the owner’s dog. He watched over us all and got lots of attention. The outside grounds were nice too. Nice views out your bedroom window. There are ATV trails right across the street from the Resort. I can’t say enough about this place!

Are the ATV trails open?
Answer from deermountainlodge

The ATV trails are open in Millsfield until such time that the snow is plowed. All other trails are closed as of Oct. So you could stay at Deer Mountain and ride directly from us in the Millsfield area.
