Staying in Hayfield, we went for an evening meal at The George. Nice selection of beers, good menu and good atmosphere. We had a really nice 3 course meal and thought the food was excellent. Mixed grille & Lamb Kleftico Recommended

Old hotel, with new smart rooms added, with en suite facilities. Ideally situated for walks up Kinder Scout. Friendly owner and staff. Good bar food available at lunch time and in the evening at reasonable prices, well recommended.

Should you be a tall then Room 1 is not kit out for your height. I'm 5ft 11ins, outside the door is a low ceiling, to get to the toilet there is another low point. The chances of hitting your head are high in my opinion. The other things about this room which I didn't like are down to individual...

Lovely hotel, great staff, do a 2 Course Evening Special Menu. Great English Breakfast. Food and Drink prices reasonable. Would not hesitate in booking this in the future, our deal was £60/night for two inc breakfast cannot go wrong with that " You know it makes sense " Del Boy from Kettering.

Spent a night here as a birthday get- away. The staff were all friendly and efficient. Both our evening meal and breakfast were very tasty. Didn't have too long to wait for the evening meal despite it being busy, Would certainly recommend for a short break. Great location for walking Kinder Scout.

Been here on many occasions and I have enjoyed every visit until this one! Mine and my mothers meal was good but unfortunately my partner had the rib eye steak which turned out to be very dry, tough and lacked flavour and was served with mushrooms that resembled tinned mushrooms? I would have given the George hotel another chance in...

We stayed for one night in December just as a random getaway, and it genuinely could not have been better value for money. Arrived around 7pm to a busy pub full of Christmas meals, and the lovely staff managed to find a table for us to be able to have something to eat despite it being so busy! The food...
