Another great lunch at the George. Great food, friendly staff, A real fire on a cold day, What more do you need. Hope to visit when the Christmas decorations are up, they were brilliant last year. SO NICE TO GET FOOD THAT IS DEFINITELY NOT FROM THE FREEZER, AND A STEAK WHICH COMES WITH FRESH VEG.

Stayed at this lovely old inn during the recent half term with my wife for a 3 night stay. the staff were very friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived. The inn is tastefuly and sympathetically decorated. the bed was very comfy although the room was a little bit small it was spotlessly clean except for the plughole in... More

This hotel was recommended by a friend. What a pleasant surprise. We were greeted by our two bubbly hosts Lisa and Rachel. After a well deserved pint from the selection of eight draft beers during which time we engaged in friendly banter about the upcoming American elections with our hosts and the "locals", we were shown our room. We were... More

Lovely cosy bar with great fire. Good was honest, well cooked and well priced with great size portions. Nice friendly atmosphere and busy. Only let down was that the sponge pudding was obviously out of a packet.

The George Hotel was ideally situated close to some amazing walks at the base of Kinder Scout. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was a cosy log fire burning in the lounge and the food was plentiful and tasty. All the staff were chatty and helpful. We will definitely stay again when in Derbyshire walking.

This is the second year we have stayed in Hayfield and we ate at The George Hotel almost every night. The food is always tasty, well cooked and excellent value for money. There is a special 2 or 3 course menu offered as well as a specials board. Leave room for desserts as they are all excellent (especially the panettone... More
