The Cloud Forest Hostal in Chugchilan is best value. We offer nice rooms. The price is reasonable (15 USD each in a double room or dorm, 20 USD for a single room), and includes a big breakfast and a great dinner. We also offer vegetarian, vegan or gluten - free options. If you're an early riser or have to catch the bus early in the morning, we give you breakfast to go. We also offer lunch box for just 3 USD Hot water is provided in all rooms. Our hostal is the best point to start hiking to Quilotoa. Wauw what a hostel! I really recommend to stay at least 1 night here! The hosts are super lovely. They explained us the road for the next day super detailed. I also got some extra chocolate of the lady. The beds were extremely comfy. The food was super tasty. Hammocks where comfy after a day of hiking. So we had a good experience!

Superb value on the Quilotoa loop trail. Great food in enormous quantities plus cozy rooms and nice atmosphere for a low price. They take a lot of care to ensure hikers are informed and stay safe on the trail. Definitely recommend!

Fabulous staff - fluent in Spanish, French and English. Comfortable stay with a roaring fire in our cabin. We arrived wet and cold. They immediately gave us a room didn’t even check in till we were warm and changed. Made us a packed lunch for the next day. This hostel also has painted the way to keep travellers safe

The food was great, the beds were comfy, and everything was super cheap. The service was fantastic too, and they were really welcoming. They also have a big spot to hang out in later at night that doesn't keep people up in the rooms.

We stayed here after a really long hike to Chugchilan. The staff is super friendly, cares about everything you need. We used the laundry service, which was super fast and cheap. They have a new building with nice new rooms and a new SPA including Sauna and Turkish Spa. We enjoyed that a lot after the hike. Dinner and breakfast is included, the food is cooked by the owner itself. They guided us also for the last step to Quilotoa. I recommend this place without any hesitation.

We hiked from Sicghos to Quilotoa, and this hostel had the best food of any of the hostels we stayed in along the way. It was also a very reasonable price. The room was also very nice. Really no downside

We loved Cloud Forest! Very hot showers, welcoming and helpful owners, good food with veggie options, and nice spotless room. They also did a ton of work to mark the trail with signs and colored markers. We so much appreciated this and didn't get lost when hiking between Sigchos and Quilatoa thanks to their signs. I would highly recommend this place for the price!

This hostal is incredible! The rooms are spacious and warm, with hot water. We arrived soaking wet after a rain storm and they helped us with drying our clothes by a wood burning heater. There is also a game room with pool, ping pong, and foosball which was fun to enjoy with the other guests. The price is a very affordable $15/night per person (if you book directly) which includes a lovely dinner and breakfast (vegetarian options available!). There is also a small store attached to the hostal with snacks and drinks for sale, including cheese from the local cheese factory. You can order to go lunches as well to take with you on your walk. And to top it all off, the owner of this hostal is the one who MADE the trails from Isinlivi to Chuhchilan and from Chugchilan to Quilotoa. That is why you will see his advertising along the path. And he works continually to maintain them. Highly recommend this hostal!

The hostel has confortable rooms with hammocks ont he balcony and a view on the mountains. The is a big commun room to chill before dinner. The dinner was great and specific diet/ allergies were taken in consideration. The breakfast is really complete and tasty ! A big plate of fruits , scrambled eggs with cheese , yogourt and muesli, plus 2 pancakes , what more can you ask ? The staff is really helpful and they made us sandwiches for only 1$ Plus , they have a convenience store at the reception so we could buy snacks and wine for a cheap price. I definitely recommend if you are doing the quilotoa loop !
