We stayed 2 nights at Hotel Los Arcos in Banamichi. Not only were the rooms comfortable and beautiful, but Tom, Lynn, and Vicki made it their mission to make sure we had the best stay possible. In addition to the overall pleasure we had staying at Los Arcos, the chef cooked some amazing meals for us. While the food had... More

Los Arcos is one of our favorite places, and they didn't disappoint this time around. The grounds are beautiful, classic Mexican courtyard in bloom. Los Arcos now has evening dinner service, we were served a veggie soup and grilled talapia with rice and a salad, all excellent. The breakfast was also wonderful, a big portion of fresh fruit, tortillas, and... More

Traveling south on the Ruta Rio Sonora is like taking a step back in time to old rural Mexico. Once you start heading south out of Cananea on route 89 the landscape changes to rolling hills and beautiful vistas. The road is dotted with small towns and a few river crossing along the way to Banamichi. Once in Banamichi you... More

I had heard of Los Arcos from other motorcyclists and how the hotel is motorcycle friendly. It is NOT a biker hangout but a well managed hotel built by the owners. The owners will make you feel like you have known them for years with friendly conversation and a desire to make sure you are comfortable. The interior courtyard is... More

Our Los Arcos stay was delightful! Beautiful, well appointed inn. Lyn was a great hostess and very helpful. Very good breakfast and wood fired pizza. Banamichi is a lovely little town in a scenic river valley. We would love to ride down again sometime.

This is the best hotel in the Sonoran River area. Picturesque building. Has renewed everything including bathrooms and mattresses. We slept like babies. Besides no mosquitoes, no bugs nor weird colorful poisonousness desert insects. Super clean! All rooms have A/C and wifi available, although is very, slow. Credit card payments are accepted. The staff is super friendly. It has indoor... More

The owner is a Fellow motorcycle rider named Tom. Both he and his wife Lyn are very knowledgeable about the local area and roads. The facility is Clean and comfortable and the food perfect. We enjoyed our stay there as our first nights stop in Mexico. Would return there without hesitation.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A little paradise on the Rio Sonora, Hotel Los Arcos de Sonora is the perfect setting to experience the romantic charm of old Mexico. Eleven individually decorated rooms offer luxurious pillow top beds, elegant bedding, air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans and spacious private bathrooms. Ten of the eleven rooms face the intimate interior courtyard filled with lush gardens and the soothing sounds of cascading water. The traditional Mexican style wood burning fireplace under the ramada takes the chill off on cool days and nights. View the pueblo and the surrounding mountains from the second floor terraza and gaze at the star filled sky at night. Motorcyclists are welcome here. Both Tom and Lynn ride and provide daily routes of the most exciting roads in Sonora. Tom would be delighted to ride along and be your personal guide. Laundry service is also available. Our staff will wash, dry, neatly fold your cloths and return them to your room the same day. If you want to bring a group, we have special room rates, equipment for group presentations and our very special Mexican chef, prepares traditional Sonoran cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Adjacent to the hotel we have created a special place for parties complete with seating, an adobe oven for pizza, and an acedor (grill) for cooking carne asada. This is an area that offers wonderful opportunities for adventure, exploring and visiting the past. All along the Rio Sonora are 17 century Spanish churches, hot and warm springs, hiking, horseback riding, traditional Sonoran foods, hunting ranches, friendly people, artisans creating beautiful mesquite furniture, women making tortillas and traditional Mexican cookies and much much more. Our special brand of Sonoran hospitality welcomes every visitor and will bring you back again and again. We invite you to visit our tranquil and safe community and come to know the magic of the Rio Sonora Valley. Tom and Lynn Matthews own and operate Hotel Los Arcos and live full time in Banamichi to ensure you have the perfect stay. ... more   less
