Certificate of Excellence
A little paradise on the Rio Sonora, Hotel Los Arcos de Sonora is the perfect setting to experience the romantic charm of old Mexico. Eleven individually decorated rooms offer luxurious pillow top beds, elegant bedding, air conditioning/heat, ceiling fans and spacious private bathrooms. Ten of the eleven rooms face the intimate interior courtyard filled with lush gardens and the soothing sounds of cascading water. The traditional Mexican style wood burning fireplace under the ramada takes the chill off on cool days and nights. View the pueblo and the surrounding mountains from the second floor terraza and gaze at the star filled sky at night. Motorcyclists are welcome here. Both Tom and Lynn ride and provide daily routes of the most exciting roads in Sonora. Tom would be delighted to ride along and be your personal guide. If you want to bring a group, we have special room rates, equipment for group presentations and our Mexican chef, prepares traditional Sonoran cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Adjacent to the hotel we have created a special place for parties complete with pool, seating, an adobe oven for pizza, and an acedor (grill). This is an area that offers wonderful opportunities for adventure, exploring and visiting the past. All along the Rio Sonora are 17 century Spanish churches, hot and warm springs, hiking, horseback riding, traditional Sonoran foods, hunting ranches, friendly people, artisans creating beautiful mesquite furniture, women making tortillas and traditional Mexican cookies and much much more. Our special brand of Sonoran hospitality welcomes every visitor and will bring you back again and again. We invite you to visit our tranquil and safe community and come to know the magic of the Rio Sonora Valley. Tom and Lynn Matthews own and operate Hotel Los Arcos and live full time in Banamichi to ensure you have the perfect stay.

As always, Tom, Lynn, Vicki and staff provided the typically warm and safe environment we have all come to enjoy at Los Arcos. They assume the role of family for those who travel to and through Mexico, whether adventure travelers or for people looking for...More

I've stayed at Los Arcos numerous times and everytime is another wonderful, tranquil experience. Tom, Lynn, Beto and Vickie's hospitality is hard to match. Looking forward to our next visit. The rooms are well-kept and very comfortable, especially after many hours on a motorcycle.

What a great introduction to Sonora. The hotel's website provided border crossing info, road condition reports and really helped me feel prepared to drive into Mexico. The owners' hospitality is extraordinary. I felt like family and will definitely be back.

Hotel Los Arcos is a beautiful oasis in the desert. It's a charming, artistic, beautifully appointed hotel - with the perfect mix of Mexican culture and the comforts of home. The food is great, rooms are cozy, flowers are delightful and horseback riding is must!
