This place is not a touristic one, so you can see a bit of really daily life in southernItaly. Although there is a medieval cloister.Good and clean rooms, very friendly staff You need yoour own car, but then you can visit other interesting places

Wonderful stay at a family-run inn. The owners went above and beyond (even during their busiest season) to make our stay an experience to remember. The inn is located in an old, historic part of town and they have gone to extreme lengths to refurbish and updates rooms to large, spacious, and immaculate spaces. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful -...

We would highly recommend a stay at Il Borgo. We had a great 3 nights there - the rooms were spotless and comfortable, breakfast was delicious with superb fresh produce (the ricotta was still warm, it was so freshly made), and Lucia and her family could not have been more helpful. They knew lots about the local area and Matera,...

Great place, very clean and beautifully restored, wonderful hosts, excellent, locally sourced breakfast -- we loved those figs and the ricotta "from the guy who owns the cows." We'll be back! Thank you Lucia, Francesca and family.

We bought a place in the countryside near Matera and Montescaglioso just over a year ago and whenever we had works to do to the house we stayed at The Borgo Ritrovato with my husband and my daughter. The place is very picturesque and characteristic, the 2floor buildings restored to the highest standard, the rooms are very spacious and spotless,...

I'm writing in English as my Italian just isn't good enough. We stayed for just one night at this lovely accomodation in really interesting arcitecture - the hosts have done up old workshop buildings with a love to detail. Even though we stayed just for the one night, our hosts took their time to share information on Montescalioso, gave us...

This interesting hotel set in a small Borgo created in Montescaglioso at the end of the 19th century can certainly satisfly the discerning guest. The entire hotel has recently been created from a number of small dwellings within the Borgo. The rooms are spacious, airy, ( no need for the airconditioner despite the high outdoor temperatures) , the entire structure...
