We really enjoyed our stay at this ryokan for a number of reasons: our room, the staff and the inn's location. The room itself, the smallest in the inn but with the best views, was light-filled, cosy, clean and minimally and tastefully decorated in traditional washitsu style, with tatami, shoji, tokoma and low table. After visiting tokyo and kyoto, we planned a couple nights in the mountains outside of Mitake to relax, hike, and experience a more "traditional" Japanese setting. Our stay here was amazing.
