My son Cameron (12y) and I had a very special and unforgettable day at Colin's ranch. Awesome Horseback Safari with beautiful views and up close with lots of animals (like zebras, giraffes, wilde beests etc.). Nikki was the perfect storyteller and gave us tons of intersting infos about all the animals and an extremely good introduction to western horseback riding. After she was sure that we were able to manage, we could canter and it was absoutely stunning. My son is now crazy about horseback riding. The day was completed by the lion walk with Dr. Colin and of course the lion cubs. The experience with those wonderful animals from 3 weeks to 5 months old, and all the profound facts and interesting stories we learned from Colin about lions, servals, Africa and the problems there are to save those endangered species were priceless. Thanks to everybody on the ranch that made our day a really unforgettable experience. Would definitely recommend to everybody.

We stayed for 2 nights at Colin’s Horseback , iT was a unforgettable experience. In the morning we did the horseback riding, we loved it. The well obedient horses and all the explanation about the wildlife was great. In the afternoon we walked with the lions, what a great time we had. It was one of the best things I ever have done. Much thanks to Greg who gave us all the interesting whereabouts about the lions and the conservation program they run. The cherry on the cake was the little cub , one month old, which I was allowed to feed him his bottle. And last but not least, thanks to Colin and Theiony and there super friendly staff, which made our stay fantastic. So if you are in the neighborhood, this is for sure something you should do. If I am in the opportunity to go back, I will surely do. Thank you for everything . Frank and Yvonne. PS , We wish Kidi lots of success with her restaurant

Wow!! What a wonderful time we had together!! And yes, Kedi's restaurant is a hit. Today we had a beautiful sunny day with lots of people enjoying the new menus of the restaurant. And valentine's day was good too, wasn't it?

I don’t even know where to start. That whole experience was amazing. Colin is such a nice man with so much knowledge. Probably the best thing I have ever done. He is so easy going and truly wants you to have fun. If I had time I would go again. It’s that good!!!

We had a wonderful week end with our 2 boys 16 and 13 years old. Walking with lions and horse riding activities were amazing. Connie, the horse instructor and Mavis are very professional and generous. The same for Kebo, the guide for the lions walk tour. The owners and the staff are also very friendly. Always smiling and considerate. It is close to Joburg and Pretoria, perfect to have good activities and rest in a beautiful and peaceful environment. We highly recommend. Thank you to all the team for this lovely week end

This is just a review of the lodge. The activities were excellent too, but I’ll review them separately. I chose Horseback Africa because I wanted to play with lions, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the lodge impresses in its own right. I met a fellow traveler who was a regular visitor, and I understand why. I’m really glad I booked a couple of nights, because it gave me time to relax and enjoy my surroundings. I was traveling solo, and they really went out of their way to make me feel welcome. It’s such an incredibly pleasant and relaxing environment, where I was quite content to just sit in the shade and read. The food was amazing. The staff were incredibly conscientious. The rooms were unique, in a good way. I’d like to go back and try the “Bushman’s Cottage” some time. There’s also a neat hiking trail, leading to beautiful views that feel like Pride Rock. I’m not sure I’d recommend doing the trail solo, though, as I’m not sure what would have happened if I’d slipped and hurt myself.

Wow, thank you so much for this awesome review! You are quite right about the trail - it is recommended that there is a "buddy" system so that there is always somebody who can go back to get help. One has to respect the African bush in every way! hope to see you soon again in the Bushman's Cottage.
