We spent 2 nights in Cathedral Peak hotel and beside the spectacular landscape and view the hotel has nothing much to offer. Poor service and extremely unfriendly and unhelpful reception staff made the stay one of our worst hotel experiences.

We traveled to the hotel from Durban which was about a three hour drive. The weather was amazing for the duration of our 3-night stay. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. The views were breathtaking. Waking up to the crisp mountain air every morning is something one could get used to. It was peaceful... the loudest sound you would hear would... More

We spend last weekend at Cathedral Peak Hotel, such a perfect location in the Berg. Great walks, very nice rooms and the most amazing views. Buffet style meals are not usually great, but these were very good with a big variety. There is so much to do at the hotel which we ever had time to, really looking forward to... More

I took my family to Catherdral Peak hotel from 7th to 12th August 2016. We have been there before so knew what to expect. I think the hotel is pricing itself out of the market as it is getting very expensive for what it is and for three of the days was almost empty. The good points are that it... More

Just returned from a 3 day stay. Been many times to cathedral peak and love the hotel. There was still snow on the berg and it was such a wonderful sight to see. As much as i love cathedral peak I cannot give a 5 star rating on this stay . One night we were having drinks in Harry's bar... More

I only came this far for the quadbiking. It is so far from the popular side of this region that it would be perfect for those seeking a secluded hideout. After my biking session I went up for a drink and the wait staff is absolutely amazing. They don't serve virgin cocktails (😑) but that's ok and they have free... More

Driving up from Durban we got our first view of the range when still about 100 km's from the hotel. The peaks of the Berg had snow on them and they looked majestic. We had paid for the accommodation up front so check in was simple. Our party had 3 separate rooms and all were clean and tidy. Service was... More

Cathedral Peak Hotel is located in the national park, 45km from Winterton. The hotel has the ambiance of a 1930s mountain lodge, that was renovated in the the 1980s? All rooms have great valley views and outdoor sitting space. Rooms are large, comfortable, and clean. Wifi is available, however access is inconsistent, and is best achieved in the lounge rooms.... The drive to here from Johannesburg was long and we arrived in the dark. This was actually a bonus because it meant our awakening, the next day, was spectacular. The hotel is relatively small, sitting in a bowl of mountains, but is beautifully located. Snow capped peaks surround it providing a stunning backdrop. From the outset the staff were first... More

We just had the most wonderful holiday at this resort. As seniors,we took advantage of the "Golden Oldie Special". The thatched rondavel we stayed in was clean, warm and comfortable with many special touches. The entertainment and the hikes were fantastic, too many to mention them all.The staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The food has to be... More
