We have now Visited Cathedral Peak Hotel 24 times in the last 25 years, historically spending our wedding anniversary there (almost) every year. The ambiance, food, welcome, food, rooms, food, service, food and staff service draws us back there year after year. Although we have tried a number of other Drakensberg hotels over the years, Cathedral Peak draws us back...

We stayed in a family (interleaving room) at Cathedral Peak hotel from 5-7 Jan 2017. 2 adults and 1 8-year-old. The hotel is large and has an array of activities, hosted by an enthusiastic entertainment manager: putt-putt; trivia night; climbing wall; children's playground; swimming pool; lawn bowling, and a pool table. There is quad biking and golf available near the...

What a Drakensberg treasure.....value for money as this includes a buffet breakfast and dinner daily. The service and food was excellent at all times. The staff were always extremely helpful and nothing was too much effort. They were extremely helpful with my disabled wheelchair bound hubby and a special thank you to Caswell for that special favour that was organized....

We stayed at the hotel over Christmas. Excellent room in the 200 series, excellent food with choices for everyone at the evening buffet meal & breakfast. We could not fault the staff & particularly the Manager, Bruce, with the help & assistance they gave myself & my husband when he fell badly on one of the hikes, breaking his shoulder/arm....

The good: The Superior Rooms are spacious and comfortable, highly recommended also for the beautiful views from the upper level row(201 to 222) There are many walks directly from the hotel so no need to drive anywhere and the trout dam is pristine. After good rains recently, the surroundings is lush green and just amazing. A true hiking paradise. Lots...

The road to the hotel is challenging and I would suggest only doing it during the day. There are animals, potholes and people to dodge on a long winding road. Our check-in was slow and the person assisting struggled to communicate effectively. The couple in front of us had to spell out their common South African family name a few...

Stunning location, stunning Hotel and wonderful staff. The drive there is a long and winding road that becomes more and more beautiful as you deeper into the Drakensbergs. The Hotel is really wonderful.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the hotel and felt it was a wonderful experience. The room looked as if it had been recently remodeled with a very nice large bathroom. The food was excellent and the views beautiful. The pools were great. We appreciated the heated pool as it was cool weather during 2 of our 3 days...

The drive to Cathedral peak is slow, travelling through the local community where cows, goats and kids run across the road at all times. Approaching the first boom gate a conservation fee is required, we find this acceptable and we gladly handed over R80 (R40 per person). 4km later we approached yet another boom, this is Cathedral Peaks private Boom...

We were considering staying at this hotel. Until we went there. After a rather challenging drive, we arrived at the gate. We were told by the security there was a R40 conservation fee. Which we didn't mind paying. We drove in only to reach another security boom gate. For the luxury of going to see the hotel you were considering...
