In the non-touristic North-West of Tenerife you wouldn't expect such icons: the collaboration of Casa Amarilla, a very nice B&B with 6 rooms in an old mansion full of antiques, small outdoor swimming pool and luscious gardens, and the superb restaurant El Patio just around the corner, with excellent food, creative cuisine and stylish atmosphere. There is also El Mundial in this village, a good and decent fish restaurant. Casa Amarilla charges 65€ for a double room incl. breakfast, at El Patio you get a wonderful surprise four-course menu for 24€ !! Perfect combination !! We will come back !!

What a fantastic place. It's like travelling back in time to an old colonial house on a banana plantation.
The owners Ruth and Carlos are wonderful. Very friendly and accommodating.
The hotel is a fantastic mix of antiques, charm and beautiful plants everywhere. The swimming pool area is very nice and spotlessly clean. The rooms are fashioned traditionally but with all the modern touches. The bathroom brand new and the bed very very comfy plus you get complimentary water and a bottle of wine from the owners.
You do really need a car so you can explore the local area but there are a couple of local restaurants within a 7-10 minute walk.
The breakfast was very good and provided cereals, yoghurt, fruit, toast , eggs , cheese , ham etc. You certainly won't go hungry.
This is a place where you just relax and do nothing. The terrace has comfy seating and good wifi.
I assure you that you will not find a more relaxing beautiful place to stay in Tenerife.

A very quiet, peaceful, difficult to find place surrounded by hundreds of banana plants their leaves flapping endlessly in the breeze. Interesting colonial feel, with many antiques around the place that look as though they have always been there. Beautiful plants and flowers everywhere. A lovely copious breakfast. A very comfortable bed. Yep. good place to go.

What a nice way of treating clients!
I made a booking reservation several weeks in advance.
A few days before my arrival the hotel canceled my reservation and gave it to another person who was staying longer!
Booking contacted me to let me know and helped to find another accomodation !
The hotel never contacted me !

What a tranquil and pleasant stay we had here. It was such an amazing experience that at the end of the day we didn’t want to leave this place. To sum it up: the location is pure magic, the room and other facilities had an aura of history and breakfast was delicious. The staff compensated for the lack in English with friendly attitude. I would return to this hotel any day.

We spent 5 days at Hotel Rural Casamarilla. A great place to disconnect and enjoy the peace and quiet atmosphere. And yes, the property is literally located in the middle of a banana plantation, which adds a really nice touch to the place. We could hear nothing but the wind in the palm leaves and the birds singing. Peaceful and exactly what we were looking for, to disconnect from the everyday city noise we have back home. The Casa has a real nice old classic mood with old pieces of art and decorations brought here during the colonial times. Staying here is a time-travel in a way if you like.
Arriving here is quite impressive as well, finding our way to the gate through the narrow high-walled road into the midst of the plantation, where the house is located. We were met with a smiling Carlos who led us to the room. No other guests in sight. We felt we were the only ones visiting, which gave us another minor first impression thrill in this old colonial, yet well preserved home. We received room number 1, which we believe is the biggest one in the house. It has two huge rooms, and a spacious bathroom. Everything in classical style. Please see pictures below of what view met us by arrival.
BUT, there is a big BUT! And a thing we believe Carlos should take care of. And that is the odour and smell in the rooms. In our nr 1 for sure. A smell which, if you are used to moist and ageing houses, will not bother you, but did indeed bother us to a certain degree. We even did consider shortening the stay to just that one night. It is certainly a sign of mildew and mold within the walls etc. Even the sofa was not feeling dry thanks to that. Having old furniture of course also brings all kinds of old odours/smells. You can argue it is a part of the experience, but there are ways to fix these kind of things. So that was quite a bummer as a first impression, despite the fantastic place it is. And luckily we were not planning to stay in the room during the days, so we decided to stay, because even the most critic and sensitive noses can get used to certain levels of unpleasent odours obviously.:) But Carlos, still we recommend to consider a check.
We enjoyed the rest of the stay very much. The breakfast was ok, nice little touch with the friendly ladies offering hot meals through an open glass window. The restaurants close-by are not many. It's better to take the car the 7-10 minute drive to Garachico. There you can find several charming places to eat. AND if you like to swim, the natural lava pools in Garachico are really worth visiting. It became our favourite place to get a fresh dip. The weather on this side of the island is not as sunny as in the south, so be prepared. Wind and clouds in May did make us put on additional layers of clothing. In general we recommend the Finca Casa Amarilla if you like to escape from tourist crowds and disco noise, and simply just enjoy silence, style and atmosphere. Service here is great. Always with a smile and a no problem attitude.

We were shocked how wonderful this place was. Firstly, we were there absolutely alone - mostly during the day. And only one night we shared this place with another nice couple. The hosts just give you the key and some advice and serve for you a really nice breakfast. That's all - the place is yours for the next few nights. The house looks like a big and nice private villa from the XIX century with a lot of interesting furniture. Imagine that you are a plantation farmer because all around are hundreds of banana trees. Really nice experience to be there. Don't miss huge stars at night and a local fish restaurant "Mundial 82" near the place.

We loved this place. Very coszy and good service.
Although the swimmingpool is note heated, so to cold in january to swim!
But 20°C is lovely to discover the beatifull area and there are many small citys around. The National Park " El Teide" is only a short drive away and super trekkings in the park are very well put on maps at the tourist information in the parc.
The cosy house with only 7 rooms serves very good breakfast and tea and café is free whenever you want!

Have stayed in this lovely Rural Hotel 3 times now and it is our favourite place to go when we want to getaway for a fews days. Surrounded by banana plantations all around it is just so peaceful and quiet, but yet just a short walk from bars and restaurants if you want them and a 5 minute drive to the beautiful town of Garachico.
Carlos and the family are always so welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is great, lots to choose from, bread, rolls croissants, cereals, fruits, yogurts, salad, jams, fruit juices, you name it! You are also offered eggs cooked any way you like! The pool area is lovely and relaxing, you can hear the trees rustling in the breeze as you sunbathe :) The rooms are quirky and spacious and the whole place has tonnes of character.
The approach is very unobtrusive, which we love, in the evenings you are left alone in the house, there are tea and coffee facilities available 24/7 with biscuits and cakes to nibble :P Also there is a vending machine if you want to buy pop or beer or chocolate, all very reasonably priced.
In your rooms when you arrive there is a complementary bottle of wine, 2 bottles of water and a fridge for your own use so you can bring your own things back to keep cool. Good wifi signals in all the rooms we have stayed in, most of the rooms have televisions. I could go on but there is too much to say about this place, just trust me it's worth the visit!! You won't be disappointed!

Actually I stand corrected I think they do. I was there in November and it was a bit too cold for swimming now I remember.
