This is probably the worst hotel I've been to so far. Not only because the building is from the 60's but also because the staff were so unprofessional and careless. We got a two individual beds room when we clearly specified we wanted a double bed when we booked it. Once we arrived the receptionist (a blonde 50 year old lady) spent 15 minutes doing nothing instead of welcoming us. She gave us another room with a double bed but when we opened the door the room was still being cleaned. The walls are ridiculously thin and in the morning you can hear almost any guest when brushing their teeth. Breakfast is not worth it... and so on... if you have a chance go somewhere else...

Really good area with beautiful mountains and lakes. The hotel staff is very friendly, food is really good. Great facilities, perfect for peaceful holidays! Great outdoor bar/restaurant area perfect for an evening drink/meal.

We visited Hotel Gacelas for a family weekend and we really liked it. It is a proper old fashioned country hotel in a beautiful part of the Madrid Sierra. It has good sized rooms and spacious common areas. You can eat in a bar which could be in the Tyrol or more formally in the adjacent dining room. There is a large living room with Tv and separate games rooms. There is a large swimming pool and large grounds with padel courts and plenty of space for the summer. The views towards the Sierra are very good. The village of Becerril has lots of eating options and plenty of character. The staff are friendly and the prices reasonable. But above all what we liked was that old fashioned feeling of being in a proper hotel in a lovely area that is only 40 minutes from Madrid.

We head to the area every year for our annual ski vacation with our two children. Because our usual hotel in Navacerrada is still under renovation, we were lucky to find Las Gacelas in nearby Becerril de la Sierra. This year we were given a very large room with lots of windows and natural light, overlooking the side and back of the hotel. It even had ample space for two extra cots for the kids. We spend most of our time on the ski slopes and sledding (a 15 minute drive up the mountain), but our hotel time was cozy and relaxing. There is a game room in the basement with a pool table and ping pong, and card tables and board games in another room. The bar area is nice and had a decent sized menu. The breakfast variety is sufficient and the hours are good whether you're an early or late riser. We opted for half-board two of the days we were there and I found the quality of the selections had gone down a little since our first visit last year. I will, however, say that the effieciency and friendliness of the staff made our stay very comfortable. The tennis courts are usable if a little old, but there is ample space behind the hotel for the kids to run around and build a snowman, if you're lucky enough to have a good snowfall. Overall, we found the hotel clean,a good value, very close to small supermarkets and a pharmacy, easy to get to nearby restaurants in Navacerrada, and, most importantly, a short drive to the ski slopes. The only negative point I can think of was of how cold our room was our last two nights there, but there seemed to be a problem with the heating system. The staff was quick to act and provided us with extra blankets for those nights, and although the heating was never fixed while we were there, no one in my family seemed to be bothered by it. We would probably stay here on another skiing vacation.

This hotel is in Becerril de la Sierra, little vilage near Madrid. We went there for a long weekend in Agust. We have choosen this hotel beacuse of the swimingpool, which was really nice !! However, as you can read on the lifelet in the room, swimingpool is open only for the very end of June till the end of Agust. The bad thing was a room ( nothing like in the pictures on the website ), and a luck of AC / fan in the room. In Agust temperatures are realy high, even in the mountains and you are not able to sleep. After a night, and second complain we were moved to another room, which was one of the new with AC and very nice, clean room. Other than that the breakfast which is included, was quite nice nothing special but OK. This hotel is very popular among older people so be prepared to see them sleeping everywhere in the hotel, and fiting from the earlie hours for a space around swimingpool ( which they don't use later for a most of the day - just having their towels lying on the bed).
