Thank you for a lovely stay. The location is verry good, rooms and flat need little TLC. Kitchen in flat verry small and no space to put groceries. All the best for the future. Hope to visit you again some day.

I stayed here over the festive season in 2014. The rooms need urgent updating! The beds were hard as rock, CARPET in the toilets and bathrooms! Beds were laid out in the kitchen and lounge areas which made the area feel more like an informal living situation than a holiday home. Towels were not changed frequently enough. The unit is...

Sometimes we are forced to intervene to also give non-pleasing facts and decisions to guests, especially if it impacts on other guests and that which is around us. We cannot just agree to everything all the time, to please everybody all the time, but we try. There are limits to everything and rules always exist, everywhere, unfortunately... Even when we...

The host is a very warm, convivial and knowledgable person - it was great talking to him. The guesthouse is beautiful and the rooms are very neat and clean with decent facilities. Location too is not bad especially if you like a serene and quiet environment - it's about 30 kms from the city centre and is quite near to...

Great Stay. Recommended for anyone who wants affordable, Calm, neat and full of warmth stay. Paul has been a great Host. Very caring. Ample Car parking space. Paul has even suggested some nice wineries. We took his suggestion and landed at Durbanville's vineyard heaven. Someone may find it bit far from cape town water front but that's what makes it...

We rented this unit for family from overseas and were very disappointed by the overall standard of the self catering unit. This unit needs renovating very urgent. Curtains and blinds in bedrooms must be replaced - cupboards are shaky. Bathroom is unacceptable. This unit needs to be renovated and then inspected and only then it should be rented out again....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Deo Gratia Guest House - Your Cape home!Welcome to Cape Town, South Africa! We offer B&B and Self-Catering Units (with own kitchen).Established in 1997... Yes, been there and has done it!We specialize in a homely, country style feel. Being situated at the end of a cul-de-sac there are very little traffic noise or noisy passers-by and we thoroughly enjoy the peaceful, farm like, atmosphere. We are on a Small Holding or Gentlemen’s Estate as some will call it, with grounds of nearly half a hectare (4800m2) in size. We have lots of space for a garden stroll and no parking problems! There are three dams and parks, with the indigenous Cape Fynbos, a 5 minute walk away, were you can go feed the ducks or just sit and view the surrounding mountains of the Cape. There is a Convenience Store, with bakery, butchery, fresh fruit and veg, prepared meals, wine sales and even a new Sushi Bar only a 2 minute drive away. At the same time we are only 10 minutes away from the major shopping malls, the golf course, 11 x wine estates, the Durbanville Private Hospital/Medi Clinic, Durbanville Conference Centre and Central Durbanville. McDonalds/KFC/Pizzas about 5 minutes away. Mr Delivery can also deliver your special meal in no time, if you feel like staying in for the evening. Or stay in and do a true South African braai (barbecue) next to our swimming pool on one of those perfect Sunny South African days.At Deo Gratia we can still enjoy the basic things that make life good. In winter, a good fire, starting up the Dover stove for a home baked bread, a good cup of coffee or something sweet from the barrel when the sun sets. In summer, the cool pool water, an ice cold drink and starting the braai fire. The large garden has matured well over the past 19 years and ensures that there are a huge variety of plants, flowers, singing birds, lazy rabbits hopping past and the odd tortoise visiting us. But we also have the, nowadays, much needed satellite TV, internet, Skype, FREE Wi-fi connection, if you need those too!Deo Gratia is the perfect base from where you can visit all that the Cape offers. We are centrally located between the Cape Wine Lands and Central Cape Town. We have 11x wine estates in the area, enhancing the country feel. At the same time we have literally 100’s of restaurants to suite all tastes just around the corner. Tyger Valley and Cape Gate Shopping Centres are only 8km away. Whether you are in Cape Town for business or pleasure, we have a bed for you, with an electric blanket, if Cape Town turns really cold… And from our travels around the world, and loving my good cup of coffee, our coffee and tea is free, 24 hours of every day! The ice maker provides Free Ice in summer and there is a fridge available for your drinks.B&B and Self Catering offered. Groups more than welcome. 4x En-suite bedrooms (B&B)2x Bedroom Family Unit (B&B)2x Bedroom Self -Catering-Unit1x Bedroom Self-Catering Suite or1x Large 3x bedroom, 2x bathroom Self-Catering Unit, right next to the pool offered. ... more   less
