Swimming almost impossible because of the horse flies attacking heads and all body parts above water. Relaxing at the pool was full of beating ourselves and trying to get rid of insects. Even after applying repellent they were finding spots on the body not covered enough by it. This visit was for me two in one, the first and the last. Definitely do not recommend. If there is an option to give minus points I would go for it.
Lets start with good things, food was really good, rooms were clean, water was absolutely fabulous and sight seeing with view on Tatra mountains was great too. No sauna, limited access to the swimming pool (no entry after 8pm), bar closed at 9pm, no socials at all, kids corner from hell, no gym access, no trampoline area access apart from once a week. Managing director full of excuses.
We booked this hotel through Booking.com for 2 rooms for 4 days in February for €406. Next day (after the 24h free cancellation period ended!) we received email from Sorea Maj that the price on Booking.com is different from the price on hotel website and we should book directly with the hotel for DOUBLE the price. To cancel our reservations it would cost us 30% of our booking. It looks like they just did this to get extra money out of their customers. We contacted Booking.com and explained the situation. They were not impressed with Sorea Maj and they let us cancel our booking free of charge. We would never ever book Sorea hotel again as I believe that if we cancelled through Booking.com we would have been charged cancellation fee as they were not aware of this price difference. Very strange and untrustworthy to us.…
Myself and my family visited this place earlier on this month. We were not impressed, by several things, but there were some bits and bobs where the management needs to focus on. Food was good, but some of the buffet fridges did not work what was obvious by room temperature salads in cold buffet (room temperature fish salad). Food management need more flexibility and flow, perhaps more senior chefs shall take a leadership, someone who is retired and does the job as a pleasure. Mineral water in the pool was also really good, I felt like, I swum in the sparkling water. Almost all the staff were really polite and kind, however some of them need a boost on customer service and language skills. Refurbished rooms looked like new, bedding was clean and ironed as well as bath towels, toilets were clean and tidy, however there were some unnecessary findings in bathrooms, which need a final touch. Single room and I could not sleep due to the poor bed condition, wood needs to be tightened and next time I 'll make sure that changes will happen immediately. Furthermore poorly equipped un-welcoming gymnasium spread on two floors, no leisure time area available due to damaged pool table. The bar has been closed from 10pm, what was not expected. Duty manageress tried to please us so she managed to reopen bar for us again. I see problems in this hotels as problems caused by poor senior leadership rather then employees failing this place. As they have to face unhappy customers and they try to please them a lot. We will come back again as we liked food, water and employees who were taking care of us. At this moment, I would say, that this hotel shall have just 2* instead of 3*.…
We used this hotel for our company meeting (130 people) in Liptovsky Jan. Hotel is very old and typical "communist". Rooms are terrible. Old furniture, bathroom, without bar, cosmetic and hairdryer. Breakfast was really disaster! Nothing fresh, homemade, healthy. Hotel has free wifi, swimming pool, conference room, bar, big parking and so one. But we haven't time to trying. Nevermore!
We chose this hotel for our summer hike trip with kids. We had small kids, so it wasn't proper hiking😉. Rooms were alright. It wasn't top quality but for 3 star hotel it was alright. I think all rooms have balcony with wooden chair. It's good for drying wet clothes. Breakfast buffet is free, for dinner and lunch you have to pay. The hotel offers for kids. There is also indoor and outdoor swimming pool filled with mineral water. The outdoor pool is called Thermal raj, and you can find there ice cream stands. If you dont want to swim, you can go for walk to forest (as we did) or Stanišovská cave. But if you prefer to to inside, you can play billiards or in evening opens hotel bar. Wi-Fi is not very good.
This is a typical example of a socialist-style resort, which they renovated, but with no real success to change it into a modern facility (I would say that they just put a little make-up on it to hide its outdated style). Everything there reminds you of its past, however, there are a few pros: - Location. The views on the mountains are beautiful, Every day I was woken up by the morning sun which rose above the opposite mountain. And then I opened the balcony door and the air was just fantastic. - Food. I was surprised how tasty the dinners were. Wide choice, very good standard. Breakfast was good also. - The pool. This hotel has a 25m x 12,5m swimming pool with thermal water (temperature of the water is not high however, roughly 27 degrees). I found this great, There is also a nice view from the pool, so I enjoyed it a lot. Here the cons: - outdated amenities, uncomfortable bed - although I have no complaints about the quality of the food (I really liked it), dinners were supposed to be until 20.30, but after 20.00, there wasn't much left and they already started to clean up the buffet before 20.30. This isn't nice if you go for a longer trip and assume you can still get dinner after eight. - poor wi-fi The hotel fails to meet current standards, but overall, I wasn't really seriously dissatisfied.…
I started here during raster holiday, Because I went snowboarding nearby. Hotel facilities are a bit aged, bed is very very uncomfortable. food is okay. Hotel is very clean. spa is okay, thermal water on other hand is fabulous, especially after all day on the hill.
Stayed at the hotel during skiing holidays in Jasna with the group. Jasna skiing resort is a 30 min driving by bus from the hotel. It is possible to take a ski bus twice a day, but rather uncomfortable to manage it with skiing. Hotel is very simple, the rooms are big enough, have a big bathroom. The room service do not make a very good clearness in the room, some from the stuff is polite, but not making anything with complains and misunderstandings. Food in restaurant is good, a big choice of warm food in breakfast and dinner. For vegetarian it is not a big choice of food but it is possible to find something. WiFi is free in the hotel. In evenings it quite slow.
We were for skiing holidays and spent 5 nights there. Hotel is quite far away from Yasna but it is possible to reach Skiing resort by free ski bus, there are couple of busses in the morning and afternoon. Hotel is quite old, but rooms are clean & warm! Restaurant offered nice Slovak food, also vegetarian selection was available. Very cheap bar, Slovak beer only 1€! In the evening it is possible to swim in a big thermal swimming pool! So bath suit is needed! Staff was ok, was difficult to communicate in English so we tried in Russian!
