As a teacher, it's the first time my students felt at home so quickly. Hostel Situla became one of the pillars of the success of our school trip thanks to Zak and Franci who are professional, friendly, caring.

I stayed here for one night in the six bed dorm, and found the staff to be very friendly and helpful, they even provided secure storage for my bicycle. My stay included breakfast and altogether it costed me €6 which I was great for my budget. The place was very quiet, but I was happy to get some sleep and good rest. The facilities were very clean and they had computers for guests to use, which was very handy. My only suggestion would be to put more lighting in the couch space upstairs, other than that, I enjoyed my stay.

We were on our way from Salzburg to Croatia when we got car problems. We were stuck in Novo Mesto for two days and made a last minute booking in Hostel Situla. When we first arrived, the girl at the reception wasn’t too welcoming. Luckily, the guy who replaced her the next two days was a lot friendlier. We booked a private double room with shared bathroom. First night we got a 4 bed dorm, second night an 8 bed dorm, both at the price of a double room (46 euros). The room and bathroom were very clean. Beds were comfortable enough, sheets were provided. The only strange thing about the bathroom was that there was no door in front of the shower, so you’ll have to undress d get dressed inside the shower cabin. Breakfast was included in the price. It was very basic, but it gets you through the morning. Nice coffee. It is possible to have a cheap lunch (4 euro). We didn’t try it ourselves, but it looked and smelled very decent. All in all a very good hostel, especially since it’s really cheap. Novo Mesto itself is a major Slovenian city with a small historical center (in which the hostel is located) and a bigger industrial center. The city hasn’t got too much to offer for tourists, but people are VERY welcoming and most of them speak English really well. Nice hiking trails in the neighborhood.

Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was included and very decent, rooms and facilities were clean but the hostel itself lacked any atmosphere. We were the only two guests staying there at the height of summer. The dorm room was very hot as it was top floor with no fan or airconditioning.

We booked a double room. Staff was very friendly but the room was awful... spots everywhere, on the walls an d on the linen. Under the bed, among other things, we found a big dead moth, it was mummified so it was a long time they didn' t clean. Terrible. I made photos. Furnished? Bed and one cabinet, that' s all. Considering the dirtness and the common bathroom I would like to recommend another hotel in Novo Mesto even because this is not that cheap (se spent almost 50 euro for one night)

We dropped in to stay for a night to break up our road trip. The staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. The shower rooms were average at best, with some broken fittings and were really rather small. The breakfast was sufficient but nothing to shout about. We'd recommend it as a budget option if you're in the area.

I decided to describe Hostel Situla.Located in the new town. As a student, I chose to practice working in the hostel. I was doing all the work, from the receptionists, cleaners, waiteres. In short, I have to admit that the hostel is very clean, cheap and friendly home away from home for guests. has great rooms, breakfast. There are also restaurants and bars where you can eat, Abbas is close to the shopping mall. There is also a lot of natural resources, for recreation, hiking, relaxing. the staff are very friendly, if you need some infomations, they will help you.

It’s right in the middle of town, it has two free parking spaces and the staff are very friendly. That’s all there is positive to say about this place. The room we stayed in was dark and dingy, the narrow slit of a window in the door and the single, low-powered light bulb lending it the gloomy air of a prison cell. The remains of a number of squashed insects on the walls were particularly unsavoury. Breakfast consisted of doorsteps of stale bread with slithers of meat and cheese. And it’s not particularly cheap. 23 euros per person is only 2 euros less than proper B&B’s charge in much bigger Maribor.
