If you love food, wine and relaxation, just go. You won't regret it. Boris and Miriam are perfect hosts. The area is beautiful and unspoiled. Rooms are comfortable and very clean. Food is home cooked and ingredients often home grown. We return this year for the third time. :)

We stayed only one night at this lovely accommodation but wish that we had stayed longer. The Novaks were incredibly friendly and generous hosts. We had a fabulous stay with delicious dinner and breakfast included. We were given wine all evening with our dinner and even got to meet the wine maker. This place is a bit out of the... More

I would definitely recommend sleeping in the haybarn! Next to that, if you have the chance, don't hesitate eating dinner with the family ==> best meat ever The breakfast contains local products and products from their own garden, so it's all fresh! Had a great time there!

We only stayed one night here on the way back to Germany, but I wish we could stay more (possibly with a different weather). Rooms are large, well furnished (our also with a beautiful old chest of drawers) and spotless clean, "ensuite" bathroom is also more than adeguate to the category. I found Novak family freindly, relaxed and a good... More

A true gem of an inn, the Novaks were amazing hosts. From the rustic, comfortable rooms, the country setting, the orange-tinted Slovenian wine, and absolutely delicious food... no one in our family wanted to leave this place. If you ever want a true "getaway from the real world" kind of trip, this is it. One of our best experiences in... More

Till now the best restaurant we have dined this year (from about 30). We 2 had excellent: cabbage soupe, a variety of salad, really homemade pasta, butter potatoes, T-Bonesteak and 1 lt. vine for 70 € - an unforgettable evening.

The Novak Lodge is much more than what Americans call a Bed & Breakfast. I learned so much about cooking and foraging. Miriam has a special relationship with plants as food and medicine. I only wish I had more days to go foraging with her and really learn about the local flora. The Novak Lodge is inviting, clean, rustic and... More

Thanks to other TripAdvisor reviews, we booked this inn for the 2 nights during our recent trip. The only complaint is that I wish we could have stayed longer. Boris and Miriam are the perfect hosts. The inn is perfectly appointed, comfortable and spotless and located in a beautiful little valley. It is within easy driving distance of some must... More

We spent unforgettable four days in a friendly environment of Domacja Novak at the beginning of May. Even though our main objects of the holiday-break were hiking and fishing, thanks to Miriam and Boris´ cuisine our stay became a gastronomic paradise. We appreciated not only inventiveness of meals but mainly quality freshness and the organic origin of all ingredients. It... More

Our party of six recently had the good fortune to spend three days at Domacija Novak, and felt it was the highlight of our trip to Slovenia. The Novak family members are warm and attentive hosts, the accommodations are immaculate and well-appointed, and the food and wine exceptional. Miriam sets a wonderful table, with an emphasis on organic, locally grown... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
You have probably forgotten what are mornings in the countryside like? Peace, quiet, fresh air, a rooster crowing or a tractor humming in the distance, smell of freshly cut grass. Leisure, tranquility, a firm bed, downy covers … the time stops. You will suddenly find yourself thinking; »How about staying for another day or two?«We cook for all, both for us and for our guests. You will eat as though you are staying at our place as our guests, which you actually are. We will offer you smoked trout, game dishes, mushrooms or pumpkin soup in the autumn, side dishes made of fresh herbs and fruit goodies or grandma’s strudel for desert in the summer. Therefore, food from the home garden, the nearby forest or from the Krka River. There is always enough fresh white, rye or buckwheat bread. ... more   less
