The family-run Hotel Penzion Jagodic is located in the beautiful village of Vopovlje, 2 miles from the airport (shuttle service provided) and 11 miles from the city of Ljubljana. My 7AM flight to start my journey back to the US was cancelled at the last minute and the only decent alternative the airline could offer was to rebook me the next day. A local contact suggested Penzion Jagodic when I inquired about someplace to stay close to the Ljubljana airport, which is isolated in the countryside with nothing adjacent. It was located in a quaint, quiet village surrounded by farms with mountains in the backdrop. Rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean. Three adult generations of a family own and operate the inn. They picked me up at the airport for a reasonable fee, were extremely helpful and responsive to my questions, provided me with breakfast, recommended a restaurant that delivered a good, hot dinner, and drove me back to the airport at 5AM the next morning. I also had the best night's sleep of my two weeks stay in Slovenia. I took a delightful three hour walk in the village and on paved paths through the surrounding farmland to another nearby village. Extremely calm and cozy place in a small village, near to the mountains . The interior is amazing , you feel yourself like in the fairy tales. Good WiFi, very tasty breakfast . The rooms are little bit small, but very clean.The host was very kind and polite. Definitely recommend!

We had a standard room. Nice countryside views from the room. Quiet room, no noise. Friendly and helpful staff. Air conditioning in the room. Elevator. The room was clean. Check-out was until 10:00 AM. Good breakfast. Right value for money.

The staff was very friendly from the start to the end. They try their best to make your stay the most comfortable it can be. Since there were only four dinners booked at the time of our stay, they offered a tray of different dishes instead of buffet style dinner. Breakfast also comes with a variety of foods. The lady from the kitchen also offered to make an omlet or poached eggs. The room was clean, with an AC, TV and a small balcony. They also offer electric bikes to make a short ride around the countryside.

I called the hotel when I landed and they came and picked me up within 10 minutes. This is a family run hotel and the young man I dealt with was very friendly. The hotel is beautifully decorated. It feels like a museum. The neighborhood is quiet. The bed was comfortable. A/C worked well. They served dinner buffet and I thought it to be very reasonable. I have no complaints. I will stay here again if I am lucky enough to return to Slovenia. Cost me 52 Euro for the night and I thought that was a great deal.

Stayed here with a friend after a late night arrival into Ljubljana airport. They collected us from the airport for a small fee and check in was easy. Rooms were comfortable and spacious and the breakfast was excellent. They then provided a very cheap shuttle to Kranj. Overall an extremely friendly family-run hotel.

The room had a little balcony. The hotel was located 10 minutes from the airport, perfect for our early flight. Great pizzeria nearby. The hosts weren't very friendly when we arrived. The hotel was located next to a farm, so it smelled like manure inside our room. It seemed like the hotel was fully booked, so it was quiet busy and noisy in the early morning.

We arrived late and wanting to get a feel for the country we decided to make the late night stroll to the hotel (there are some sections where there are no paths, but we felt relatively safe as it wasn't busy at midnight and you could stay back from the road when cars passed. If you'd rather not do this, the hotel is more than happy to pickup or drop you off for 6 euro a car/minivan). The walk is approx 40 mins. When we arrived we were greeted by a young gent who apologized for not being able to get in touch with us and gave us lots of chocolate to replenish our energy - nice touch! The room was spacious and clean and the beds where very comfy - incidentally, this was the best night I slept in Slovenia - probably because of the air conditioning! A large and small towel was provided for each of us, and there was also soap provided in the shower. When the morning clouds parted, there were some stunning views of the mountains from the balcony. In the morning, we were given a ride to the airport to collect our rental car - really quick and hassle free. I really liked my stay here. The staff were all so friendly and the place was so cosy! Family-owed and operated, they were very responsive to our needs. Lovely rooms. Breakfast and dinner were available; buffet style, with a good variety. Quiet area with great views from every room. Two thumbs up!

Lovely hotel very reasonable as they could accommodate all 5 of us in one room. Very friendly and helpful family who run it. Gave lessons in Slovenian. Highly recommended if staying near the airport. Dinner very nice too
