We are a family with three very active boys (ages 10, 14 and 17.) A friend had recommended Fontanaro and we were excited to experience life on an olive oil farm, but coming from Los Angeles, we had no idea what to expect. It was everything we hoped for and more! We stayed at Brunello, which is a beautiful home... More

there is much to say about our week spent at the Sassicaia Apartment. Just outside the village, one of five apartments set amongst a field of sunflowers and 360 degree views of Umbrian and Tuscan hillsides. It really is something out of a postcard beautiful and never gets old. The apartment amenities were delivered as promised with wifi and sky... More

This is a very special location - the beautiful garden and swimming pool alone may keep you on site - but it's also close to stunning hilltop villages like Paciano and Panicale , and Lake Trasimeno is only a few minutes drive away. What is really special though is the welcome you receive from Lucia and her family - so... More

My husband and I recently returned to Il Fontanaro for our second visit. We loved our first time two years ago so much that this time we booked for 2 WEEKS. We stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment, Frantoio, which is part of the main Il Fontanaro farmhouse. It has everything you need to self cater, and a wonderful patio... More

My husband and I traveled with 3 other couples and stayed at Fonte Cicerum, one of the Il Fontanaro villas. It has 4 bedrooms and two living areas and a great kitchen fully equipped. The refrigerator was stocked with yogurt and snacks. There was wine and fresh bread when we arrived. The setting was perfect - beautiful sunsets over the... More

One of the highlights of our two-week honeymoon was the cooking class at Fontanaro. Alina and our chef instructor made the experience very easy and enjoyable, and we greatly enjoyed learning a variety of fresh pasta techniques in addition to methods for preparing certain vegetables. The sustainable, slow food nature of the farm showed through in the quality of the... More

From the moment we arrived we felt like we had landed in the most special place in Italy. We stayed for 7 nights in Sangrantino Villa. Alina and Lucia made us feel like family as they introduced us to their way of life, cooking, and environment. The cooking classes were fabulous, beautiful fresh food and wine. The local knowledge and... More

Such a beautiful place, made perfect by Alina and Lucia being so welcoming. We stayed in the Tartagli villa, which was perfect for me, my mum and 2 teenage daughters. We enjoyed olive oil tasting at Fontanaro and ate at both the lovely restaurants in Paciano. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful views from the terrace at La Logetta and the... More

My husband and I stayed at II Fontanaro for 7 nights. EVERYTHING was amazing. The house we stayed in (Leccino) had a wood stove, anything in the kitchen you need to prepare a meal, swing and a porch to relax, with a view of olive trees, a garden, flowers, surrounding hills and grape vines. Our hosts were so great I... More

Alina and Lucia create an amazing experience worthy of all the reviews! After a busy few days in Rome what a wonderful time to unwind and relax in the Umbria hills. The villa was warm and inviting - all the little details added made it feel like home. The expansive views are incredible. Our family of 4 included 2 -... More
