Stayed at this spa hotel for one night, was given a refurbished room which we could not fault, the spa facilities are lovely and clean with good sized pool you can also use gym upstairs which we did not due to time constraints. Upon using the spa facilities we used the pool and sauna with no issues it was fairly quiet which was nice, our weekend and visit to this place went downhill when we stepped into the steam room to find a young man in there shaving my husband advised him that this was not the correct place to shave and recommended him using the shower/changing room sink facility - we were shocked and faced a torrent of abuse from this individual (who sounded like he was from the “traveller community with an Irish accent”) and basically said he could do how he pleased & always did the same. To not cause a scene we swiftly departed the steam room showered up and left the spa, there was the same gentleman on the reception desk who we advised of what had happened and said he thought it might of been a gym member he apologised and advised he would have a word and let the gym manager know when he was due back from leave. Later that evening we had a lovely meal at the hotels restaurant and also advised the front desk person of what had happened who inadvertently advised that something similar had been reported previously and would report it to the hotel manager nick. It’s very unfortunate that this incident tarnished what was otherwise a pleasant stay & experience - but i’m Shocked to find out if this has happened before & why the hotel management have not intervened and stopped member(s) from shaving in a area which is used for relaxation and surely is NOT hygienic and that rather vulgar individual needs to STOP shaving in such areas or managers need to enforce measures to prevent this - hence the 1star!

Just visited as it was our wedding anniversary. Spa full body : very relaxing and refreshing 8/10. But, very difficult to book, they sent me online to look but they have an older listing which if you don’t know really throws you off. Disappointing as you can’t even book online & when you phone it the persons aren’t very helpful & hang up! The restaurant is great, nice breakfast buffet & evening meals. Great smiling staff ready to help. The rooms were nice just needs more detail cleaning, the laminate flooring was too dusty & a few visible cob webs. The facilities we visited, swimming, sauna & steam were average to good. Overall a 7/10

This is a great place to stay for a look around stratford-on-avon, warwick castle and Coventry. The property has been well upgraded, lovely finishes and there were a flock of rabbits and a few squirrels in the field outside our window. Lovely food, lovely staff.

Review collected in partnership with Accorhotels.com
On arrival I informed the receptionist we require gluten free foods to be told to let the restaurant know, all fine! Went to the room which was filled with paint fumes that were awful! Was moved to what was a lesser paint smell....not. The first room had no towels etc just felt like we were put there... breakfast the next morning was shocking due to staff not knowing we were gluten free (coeliac) so not allot of options for food apart from bacon, eggs but other guests were cross contaminating the utensils with wheat, got served cold toast.... basically been shrugged off by the hotel manager so I wouldn’t bother staying. No offer of a restaurant as this basically ruined our anniversary! Rooms were still being “improved” so work noice outside oh and great view Thanks a bunch

Possibly has the potential to be a lot better. First thing one notices is the reception is located after a walk through the main door and a lounge seat area. When I arrived people from a wedding stared as though I had gatecrashed their party, strange set up. The room I was allocated was on the first floor, the stairs were wooden and hollow it was noisy. These rooms must have been recently refurbished as there was a smell of paint. Rooms 26 and 28 opposite contained ladies who moved from room to room shouting and banging doors until late at night. I mentioned this on check out "there not much we can do I was told". The Car park had flooded in places but there were alternatives. The leisure facilities are in a separate building as is a function room. A number of people in flip flops and dressing gowns walking from the main building and down the path was an unfamiliar sight. I waited to get a coffee at the bar whilst a Japanese lady tourist asked the price of about 10 drinks and wrote them on a pad, then left without purchasing anything?. The barman told her AMSTEL beer came from Spain? There is me thinking it started in Amsterdam? Silly me? Oh it did, and is probably now brewed under licence in UK? It was OK for a few hours but as a place for an occasion it did not hit the spot. I would not return unless no alternatives.
