What did we particularly liked? The reception, the Tree House with the great interior, the atmosphere, the drinks provided, showering under the open sky, the peace and quiet, wifi reception, the delicious food and so much more!!!! And what could be better? The water in the pool was a bit too refreshing....
Tsala Treetop Lodge is a wonderful lodge. The lodge has excellent furnishings, set in a beautiful location, serves delicious food and has friendly staff who give professional service. I highly recommend this establishment.
Truly a fantastic experience. Great location , luxurious lodges , excellent service . I cannot recommend highly enough . Has the added bonus of being close to places of outstanding natural beauty such as Tsitsikama, Knysna lagoon , Storm River Gorge and the most amazing beaches .
Amazing experience - the location and tree top villa were simply stunning! The staff were amazing - even to the point of leaving bedtime stories on the kids beds each evening. A loverly touch! The food in both restaurants was stunning as well. I would throughly recommend Tsala to anyone visiting the area or driving the garden route.
We stayed for two amazing nights to celebrate a big birthday. The setting and accommodations are stunning and the service immaculate. This is full luxury with a very relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend it.
Overall it’s just really expensive for what was actually offered. We drove down the garden route and stayed at many beautiful hotels, and while this is extremely beautiful it’s just not worth the money. Other hotels we stayed at included a 3 course dinner meal that was included in their rate and that was half the price of this stay. We were looking for something extra and we just didn’t get that while staying here. The service and the people were extremely friendly and we have no faults on that. If you want to stay in a fancy tree house and don’t mind spending $520 a night then this is for you.
We stayed at Tsala for 2 nights on our Western Cape tour. The welcome was wonderful, with a well earned G&T after a long drive from the winelands. The rooms are just stunning, I couldn't believe all the space we had, and the complimentary wine and spirits in the room was a lovely touch. With no real bar to speak of at the hotel, it was nice to be able to sit with a port in our lounge area after dinner. All the staff were lovely and friendly, there were a few mix ups with the food orders at dinner, but there was no drama and all 3 couples involved sorted ourselves out as we realised before any of us had started. We ate at both the hotel restaurant and Zinzi, and both were delicious, with a well curated but not overly long wine list. We had needed to email ahead as my husband had forgotten a vital piece of camera equpment which we needed delivered and they were really helpful and the item was there waiting for us when we arrived. It was a little chilly whilst we were there, but the team offered to light the log burner which was absolutely gorgeous and gave off so much heat. Unfortunately it was too cold to use our plunge pool, but it was very inviting. And the views over the canopy were delightful. We would definitely return.…
Words are difficult to describe this speacial place. We stayed in a beautiful room with lovely views over the valley. We loved the stone bath and outdoor shower (both tried). Dinner was also a delight with well crafted food. Breakfast was also very good and accompanied by resident monkeys entertaining us at the same time.
I e-mailed Tsala Treetop lodge to establish whether I can make a dinner booking at the lodge. Soon I received a friendly phone call to confirm the time. On arrival at Tsala Lodge we decided to enjoy some MCC outside. Within minutes we saw two Knysna loeries in the trees. Nice! The garden is lush and we enjoyed the ambiance. The next minute we saw two small deer grazing right in front of us. So sweet. We moved inside for dinner and I ordered the salmon with clams. My food was excellent and I also enjoyed the delicate amuse-bouche. We dined at various Plettenberg bay restaurants the following nights. In my opinion the Tsala experience was great value for money and I will support this venue again on my next visit to Plet. The portions were generous and the evening was very romantic for sure!…
Tsala was a refreshing, beautiful and everything one could hope for when running away from the cuty. The room looked over the trees, very clean and staff were attentive. I had the opportunity to explore the property, found some spots like the church that had breathtaking views and secluded. Dinner at Zinzi was absolutely divine.
