One of the most amazing places you could stay in if you are on a trip along the Rhine. This castle offers an amazing view onto the Rhine. The rooms are "medieval" style, yet clean and comfortable. The food (classical German cuisine) from breakfast to dinner is great, and lunch and dinner can be had in outside, overlooking the Rhine... More

We stayed here for a night and had the candlelit set meal. They were really accommodating by letting me have a vegetarian version. The setting was beautiful, high up over the Rhine beautiful views from outside and from our room. We didn't explore the surrounding area so can't tell you about that but it looked beautiful. No wifi and no... More

Wonderful old castle with small hotel and good service. The highest castle on Rhein river, so magnificent views :). This castle is facing another one, just few hundred meters away. Apparently they were owned buy rivaling brothers. Eventually one was killed by the other one by mistake.......

Our first stay in a castle hotel in Germany while on the Rheinsteig trail. The location of the hotel is super. The rooms and the dining area are both nice and cozy and had a different kind of warmth! The team managing the property was great. The breakfast spread is really nice and our diet needs at dinner were very... More

On our trip in the Rhine area we stayed in 2 castles, this one intended to be our "quiet" relaxed one, and the property and staff did not disappoint. This property has more of a family run feel, vs. polished touristy look and feel. Our room looked over the Rhine and was more than comfortable. We also had dinner in... More

Large, comfortable room with decent size bathroom and shower in castle overlooking the Rhine River and "brother" castle. Fantastic views and period furnishings enhance the castle experience. Portions of building are re-constructed but this was still a unique experience for any castle lover. Somewhat less expensive than some other Rhine castle hotels. Only minor downside was no WI-FI. Short drive... More

This is a unique and interesting place to stay. We had a lovely room overlooking the beautiful Rhine River. The only thing out of sort with this place is the trains that pass under the window all night long.

Stopped here for two nights and it wasn't what I expected at all. Our room was up the narrowest steps ever with the tiniest of bathrooms. You have to be very careful on the stairs and carry an overnight bag instead of a suitcase. The room itself did not feel clean with basic facilities. For €145 per night it wasn't... More

We spent a few days in the Rhine River area and couldn't pass up the chance to stay in a castle built in the 13th Century. The experience was definitely worth it. Driving up to the Castle Liebenstein is an event in and of itself - you see it on the side of the hill, like so many other castles... More

Old buddy I was vacationing with booked this, and did he ever score. If you've ever cruised the Rhine, or taken the train along it and admired the old castles in the hills; this is one you saw, and yes, you can stay there! Can't say enough about this place and the people who care for it, and for their... More
