We had a wonderful dinner at Komlo hotel. The service was friendly, the food was exquisite, the location is good, on the center of Gyula. And the place plays a role in László Krasznahorkai’s novel The Melancholy of Resistance!

Extremely poor walls, you can hear everything in the next rooms. Not clean. At the restaurant the services are very bad. Everything is dirty, not various food. They don't offer anything but towels in the bathroom. For such a high rated hotel, it leaves a very, very bad impression.

We reserved a duplex suit about 6 months before we checked in. When we entered the room, we were shocked by its size. We refused to stay in the room, so they sent us to a better room, which was larger, but less than what we reserved. We asked for the one we reserved, and they told us that it is alreay taken. The hotel is nice and comfortable, the breakfast is good. The bad is that we have to struggle to get what we reserved and got less. We were compensated by small discount.

The hotel is clean, relatively efficient. Very good breakfast and pretty attentive staff. I’ve been traveling in Hungary for many years and was a bit disappointed that the desk staff often didn’t acknowledge us as we passed the desk. Normally in a hotel, especially in Hungary, you get an extra warm greeting. Once you did have a question, they were very nice, though. We were in a 2 bedroom suite which was supposed to have a beautiful balcony. It did have a small balcony next to 3 large, noisy air conditioning units. Our friends did have the ONLY balcony on the 2nd floor which was beautiful. There were no frills - no soaps, lotions, etc. Just towels. AND the A/C units had to be turned on from the front desk.

Positive Komlo hotel is a very nice hotel, very clean, looking as new even if it's not recently built. We got a room with balcony and a very good bed which was absolutely fantastic. The hotel has a great location, not far from the thermal baths. The neighborhood is quiet and nice. Excellent parking. Lovely staff, English speakers. Negative The 4 or 5* hotels offer small gifts for free to the customers, it has to be paid only what's taken from the minibar. It wasn't the case, we had to pay the chocolate bar and the peanuts found on the table (obviously not included in the minibar). It wasn't much but we found this of bad taste. The hotel doesn't offer the usual toiletries found in +4* hotels. A simple liquid soap in the toilet and shower and nothing else.

It is one of the prettiest hotels we’ve stayed in. Amazing design. Pleasant staff. Comfortable rooms - we had a view of the main street. And a great 50% off food deal for the in-house restaurant. Would visit again for sure!

The hotel is nice, basically in the middle of the downtown. Room size was absolutely okay. I've tried out the restaurant downstairs, the food was not so good for my taste but it was absolutely edible. Only thing I would mention is the Wi-Fi. I have stayed in the 3rd, top-floor and the connection was super bad. Please try to improve that, otherwise I would recommend it.

We atayed for a weekend (couple) here. The registration and getting the room was fast enough. We got a very nice room with double bed, not big but enough for a couple, with nice decor and bathroom. The breakfast is great, nothing special. Also you can have lunch/diner here. Overall the price/value ratio of thi hotel is very good, I would recommend it to stay afew day at Gyula.
