Detailed Reviews
After having to stay at another hotel in the area, we booked this hotel for our last visit.
We were very impressed with how clean and open everything was. After experiencing the last hotel, we could hardly wait to see the rooms. I opened the door and we both smiled and said “ yes “. The rooms were larger than we expected, filled with light, the bathroom was modern and there was a water cooker with coffee and tee there ( what the last hotel promised but didn’t offer ).
We didn’t eat in the evening but enjoyed the breakfast twice. Everything was there.
We will stay here again next time.

This hotel is a great choice when visiting Aarhus. It's about 20 minutes outside the city but that means it's quiet and there's free parking.
The room was large with a coat area and seating area plus the bed. The bed was a little too firm and comforters were individual sized. There were a few pillows to choose from. The curtains weren't blackout but there wasn't much light bleed.
The bathroom was great. There was a deep soaker tub and a separate shower. The amenities were very nice.
Breakfast in the morning didn't offer a lot of variety but the options they had were tasty. The coffee was good, which was important since there was only an electric kettle in the room.
Hotel common areas had pool, ping pong, and foosball available. We would choose this hotel again.

My first stay at the Montra and just as expected, excited for a second visit hopefully not too far in the future. The hotel itself is beautiful, and the room was very large, and the are plentiful activities including playground, games, fireplaces, gym, massages and more. During my holiday the staff all went the extra mile and it was very much appreciated. Perfect hotel, and will surely be back!

The room is spacious and clean in a light Nordic design. The bed is on the smaller side. The bathroom is large with a tub and shower seperated. It's better than some of the 5* hotels i stayed at. The front staff was super friendly and helpful.
The evening I was at a party. The reason why i stayed. The starter was smoked cod. Relative big slices. The main course was long braised beef - a typical danish dish. The meat was dry, the potatoes were glass potatoes and the sauce first came at the 2nd serving... Yes there was some sauce on the plate, still if you are a sauce lover not enough. The dessert was a very dry chocolate cake with rubarbe sorbet and some rubarbe. I'm not a fan of rubarbe, but the sorbet was the best of the 3 course meal. The following morning i had the included breakfast. Apparently the chef didn't know how to make scrambled egg, they had burned corners.

We arrived here after a long wet bicycletour. The reception was great, we were able to park the bikes in the basement, safely. Dinner was really good and the room and bathroom also. The hotel is large an also used for training and congresses.

We stayed at the Sabro Kro for a stopover. Very friendly staff at reception, huge parking lot directly in front of the house. Hotel seems to focus on conferences / seminars: Many rooms, seem to be more or less identical. Room interior could be named "scandinavian style" - bright colours, wooden surfaces / furniture - we liked it! As we like quite hotels we were lucky that only a few rooms seemed to be booked. You probably would not like to be there when it´s fully booked ... Breakfast buffet also very good!
Note: This is the feedback for the hotel only - please stay away from the restaurant - see separate feedback there!

We stayed here one night. The property is very well maintained. The room was immaculate. Very large with a sitting area, comfortable bed and large bathroom. There was both a tub and separate shower. Although a few minutes out of town, it was well worth the trip. One of the nicest modern properties we've stayed at. Breakfast buffet was extensive. If you're in this area, stay here...you won't be disappointed. Staff at the front desk is wonderful...very well managed property.

+1
I usually stay in this hotel because of nearby business. For this, the hotel is very convenient, offering easy access, free parking and good sleep.
Simply, a very relaxing atmosphere.
The area is very quiet and a bit far from anything else than a nearby Supermarket (which is just a few hundred meters walk away).
It's restaurant surprises with high quality food, often with some creative local touches, but that said, the selection of dishes are very limited. I guess the menu is rotated now and then, but if you happen to stay more than one week, it may be a become boring, even tasty. Sometimes (I believe during the summer months) there is a all-you-can-eat-buffet two days a week. Tried it this time, and the food lived up to our expectations, good variety.
Rooms are simple and clean. Walls/doors are thin and you might take part of your neighbor's activities, but this is generally not a huge problem.
If there's one thing, I could mention the in-room TV. By today's standard I think it's a bit small (I believe around 20").
Free, open WiFi covers most of the rooms well, and reasonably fast.
This time I tried the fitness room. I was alone in there and it was a nice experience. The room also follow a simple style, but a good treadmill and a cross-training machine are both ready for you.
If you're a person enjoying nightlife, this place is surely not the right one, but if you appreciate convenience and a relaxing place to stay - it's a good choice.

Hello Bent N! Thank you very much for taking the time to review us. I am glad you like it with us and keep coming back. We offer our guest good experiences in a relaxing atmosphere, which you also feel. The menu changes every month, and offer a selection of modern and traditional danish food. I am sorry if you feel the selection is a little narrow, but please remember to ask the waiter of the special of the day. Hope to see you again soon - to another peaceful stay. Kind regards, Jakob Beck Wätjen

Montra Hotel Sabro Kro is a relatively large hotel outside Aarhus. I have stayed in the hotel several times. The rooms are large and nice and the shower is great too. The hotel is always clean and the staff is really friendly and helpful.
The restaurant serves traditional Danish food (absolutely not New Nordic). It is a little old fashioned – a bit like visiting my grandparents back in the 80’s. But it tastes well.
If you are visiting Aarhus this hotel is – in my opinion – to far away from the city center, but if you are on the road and need a stop-over Montra Hotel Sabro Kro works great!

To be fair, we did stay there in August--this area may generally be cool enough that air conditioning is not usually needed. It was cool outside, so we opened the window but this did not help at all--there was no breeze to circulate the air into the room. Our room also faced the setting sun, so opening the curtain allowed the sun to shine in. Also there was road noise with the window open and lots of spiders around the window area. The hotel is away from the city of Aarhus but access to the city is easy if you have a car. There is plenty of parking. The room and bath was large, clean, well maintained--mattress and bedding were comfortable. The bathtub was very very slippery--I fell in it. The breakfast was good. Decor in my opinion was a little outdated and there were large odd sculptures of figures in the lobby and halls--many people seem to love the decor however.
