We went here for our honeymoon, traveling from the US. This island was the last 3 nights of our trip and it couldn't have ended on a higher note. Traveling to Royal Davui was an awesome start - the extra charge for the private plane is definitely worth it, we had a private flight and got to see Vitu Levu from the sky. We went during the off season so there were only 3 other couples on the island and we felt like everyone was attentive and accommodating to us. The whole visit feels very personalized from the warm welcome (with singing!) to the customized "Daily Davui" handout. The free non-motor activities give you plenty to do once there without having to mind your wallet all the time. The view from the villa was also incredible, our view overlooked the neighboring island Beqa and was completely private. The plunge pool heated well and the whole set up was very clean and beautiful. The only bad moment was we had some ants that came out of the hot tub, but we didn't mind because the plunge pool was the main attraction anyways. We also did the 3-day spa package which definitely put us in the vacation mood!…
My husband and I have traveled in the US,Canada, Mexico, Eastern and Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and Africa. Royal Davui Island Resort is the best place we have ever been,. The accommodations were amazing. Food was healthy and exceptional. People were warm and friendly and helpful. From the welcome group song to the come back again farewell song, we were handled with kid gloves and had an exceptional time,. They make all of our travel accommodations and everything was smooth as glass. We went diving. It was spectacular. They arranged at our request for a videographer to join us so we have a great video of our trip to share with our grandkids. You can’t believe the service at this place. It took us 24 hours to get home, but it was so good we will be back. I cannot give this resort a higher rating, Margaret and Ron have created an atmosphere of complete relaxation, fun and service. We so appreciate the time there. Now, I just have to get rid of my Fiji Brain so that I can work.…
First off the food was incredible and they were very flexible with my picky eating. All the servers and bartenders were friendly and did a great job. We did the island picnic which was beautiful. The snorkeling off shore was one of our best Raymond and Ben and Appy took us on amazing boat trips. Stay with your guide as the guys are so knowledgeable on what’s underwater and where to go Rooms were nice. We had a west facing room and it gets extremely hot. The only complaint we had was the resort pool needed to be cleaned. Lots of green stuff growing on the steps and filters Also the managers at times seemed like it was too much trouble to smile and chat with guests
We spent 5 nights on this beautiful small island. Our Villa was spacious with amazing views from the huge deck and private plunge pool. I think this was my 10th visit to Fiji and this was by far my favorite resort. The island is fully surrounded by coral reef so no matter the wind or tide there was always somewhere calm to snorkel. The house reef was alive and vibrant, as were the spectacular variety or fish, turtles and baby sharks we swam with daily. We loved our night snorkelling where we saw lobsters, turtles and lion fish. We also found our guided snorkel to the outer reef well worth the excursion. The marine staff, Ben and Ray where so knowledgeable about the reef and everything in it. The private picnic to the sand cay is also a must. Everyone usually says you don’t go to Fiji for the food but Davui is the exception. Each meal was of a high quality that you would expect in a good Sydney restaurant. There was plenty of variety and we also loved the vegetarian options. We were super impressed with all the staff and especially pleased with the managers and owners who all bent over backwards to make sure the holiday was perfect. Our luxury escapes package included a daily spa treatment which we loved and it added to the complete relaxation of the holiday. The resort has worked hard at reducing single use plastics which is fabulous for such a high end resort. Unlike other parts of Fiji we didn’t see any plastics floating in the ocean or washed up on beaches the entire visit. We usually like to visit different resorts but this one will keep us coming back. We can’t wait to receive a big Fijian welcome from all the staff when we return.…
kmtravellers were apprehensive about going back to Fiji. We are not really “Hi Guys” and “Bulla Bulla” type people. As we sped across the sea in a comfortable speedboat towards the Royal Davui Island, I wondered whether we should have gone to a larger, more impersonal place. As soon as we arrived and were settled, all doubts disappeared. The peace, the food, the service and the spirit of this island is truly magical. The rooms are well appointed and generous with cookies provided and a fruit platter refreshed. The food was healthy while being very generous and tasty. The interesting menu was minimal in choice but somehow catered for everyone. The outlook from the restaurant and from the room was wonderful and an engaged GM and her husband made sure that no guests left unhappy. We will be back.…
