Our second visit to this hotel, the previous occasion being 5 years ago. Situated in the countryside about 5 miles from the nearest towns on a quiet country road making it the perfect tranquil location. The rooms consisting of a series of modern Truli buildings across the immaculate grounds, we were near the pool and a few minutes walk from the restaurant and reception. However on this occasion our stay was a little disappointing. Firstly when we went into our room (15) we noticed the bed cover was torn around the bottom. My wife decided to have a bath before going to dinner but unfortunately there was no bath plug ! So whilst my wife had a shower I had a look around the room and noted that the coat hanger next to the entrance door was hanging off the wall and loose. Going into the bathroom the towel rail by the sink was also hanging off. The hotel staff were helpful and found a bath plug the next day. The room was cleaned to a high standard every day. The breakfasts were quite good on the whole but there was no fresh orange juice during our stay. Evening meals with the half board arrangement had a very limited menu that changed only twice all week. The starters were basically the same every day and the main courses were just a variation on a theme . The English translation of the menu was not accurate and on one occasion was totally wrong which caused a huge fuss in the kitchen. The main courses were often served with no salad or veg, just a piece of fish or meat and not much more. I understand the hotel has changed hands in recent years but there are signs of costs being cut in certain areas, i.e. room maintenance and meals. However these are areas that shouldn't be skimped on and it took the edge off our stay this time. We have done the whole area now and the hotel is well situated to do so but we are unlikely to return again.

Enchanting venue. Everything was so beautiful and the hotel staff could not have been nicer. Only gripe is that the fridge didn't work and despite raising with Reception every day it was never fixed. Location is isolated so car hire essential.

We made a one week reservation from April 5th, directly with the hotel. Ten days before arrival the hotel notified us they have to move us to another hotel for the first 2 days. It turned out, from a mail exchange, that the place is much cheaper, no half board plan and there are stairs inside. We turned down this offer but asked for renewed confirmation for the 5 remaking days. Il palmetto’s response was they are cancelling our reservation . An outrage and totally uncalled for and unacceptable! I can supply the evidence from the mail exchange between us.

My partner and I have just returned from a wonderful week based at this hotel. From the moment we arrived at 22.30 at night until the moment we left nothing was too much trouble. We'd booked and paid for our evening meals on booking. When we got there the restaurant was closed but they rang the kitchen and the waiter Martino, brought us plate after plate of antipasta. The following evening was our first anniversary and they presented us with tiramisu with a candle in it. Along with a little ornament to keep. The food was lovely and typical Pulgian. The continental breakfast gave a good selection of things to choose from. The trulli was spacious and spotlessly clean. Simply decorated but contained everything you needed. It's a very relaxing, friendly hotel in beautiful surroundings. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

An unusual and relaxing experience. This is not a hotel in the usual sense of the word, as it is made up of 33 separate Trulli's. Each is an individual residence set within the carefully landscaped grounds of the hotel complex. Overall the complex is clean, well maintained and offers a very good experience for the guests. All the staff do a first class job in looking after you, Especially the waiter Martino who service is exemplary. The hotel location is only suitable for couples with transport as it is set in a fairly remote area so there's not a lot going on for families. Overall. a trulli excellent hotel. lol

A step back in time and unique experience made up of 33 'trulli' (traditional stone buildings with conical roof structure). Beautifully restored and added to in traditional craft style. set within a rolling landscape of agriculture, vineyards and olive groves bounded by traditional dry stone walls - the setting and hotel are very relaxing. The rooms are unique and simply dressed to be in keeping with the restored buildings, yet well served with wifi and modern bathrooms. Lovely pool facilities and good restaurant with hot and cold buffet breakfast and changing evening dinner with fresh local ingredients, with great attention to detail and dealing well with allergies and requests, all accompanied with great selection of local quality wines. This really is a get away that is complemented by the family owners and attentive, friendly and accommodating staff - nothing too much trouble and generous in their welcome and local knowledge and recommendations. On site free secure car parking. We will certainly return as it is a great base from which to explore the beautiful and interesting Puglia region of Italy

If you are looking for a relaxing break away from the crowds, this is the place for you. We were warmly greeted by Roberto on arrival, who throughout our stay did his upmost to ensure we made the most of our time. Our accommodation, a Trulli, was quirky and immaculate. Daily maid service maintained this high standard. The communal areas and restaurant were equally immaculate. Breakfast was included and the choice was comprehensive. We dined in the restaurant each night. The menu changed daily and was varied. The quality of food was superb. What made our dining experience extra special was the attention the Restaurant Team paid us. They really looked after us. To fully appreciate the local area you will need a car. Locorotondo, Ostuni and Polignano a Mare are all worth a visit. Head for the old towns! we also visited the caves at Castellano Grotte - these were breathtaking. Check out their timetable as they regularly conduct English speaking tours. Thanks guys - you made our visit special!

Il Palmento is a sizable domain with some 30 to 40 (?) trulli, which from the outside look quite charming, and which somewhat unexpectedly are also quite comfortable on the inside. We had several interconnected rooms: a living room with fridge and coffee/tea facilities, a large bedroom and somewhat smaller bathroom. The trulli are situated in a large and well-kept garden. Each has a small table and chairs in front of the trulli entrance. The pool area includes a version for small children and a regular larger/deeper one; there are plenty of sun beds with towels provided by the hotel; drinks and snacks are served at the pool bar. We used Il Palmento as a starting point for trips throughout Puglia. To be sure: one needs a (rental) car to get here from the airport (Brindisi) and for sightseeing. There is a good nearby pizza restaurant within walking distance, and the hotel has its own restaurant. We stayed two weeks in late September and at that time there were quite a few mosquitos in the garden and pool area in spite of regular spraying, a problem for those who hate to get bitten. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is quite relaxed. We had a very good time at Il Palmento!
