We recently spent four nights here at the end of a two week trip to Apulia. We were warmly welcomed by Stefania and Fabio as if we were family and quickly felt as if we belonged. Next morning at breakfast we met Anna who does the cooking and Antonio who is in charge of wine production. Our room (Palmento) had patios with fabulous views looking towards the town of Locorotondo and the garden. We never wanted to leave but enjoyed exploring the area, especially Locorotondo with its white limewashed houses and quiet, picturesque streets.

Our room was comfortable and well equipped and the breakfasts were delicious featuring produce from the farm and everything was homemade. We spend a most enjoyable time with Fabio tasting the Masseria’s wines and vegetables. Both red and white were delicious and great value at €5 per bottle. The homemade jams were also very tasty.

Masseria Aprile makes a fabulous base to explore Apulia and I strongly recommend it. Thank you Stefania, Fabio, Anna and Antonio for being such wonderful hosts.

Everything about the Masseria Aprile is top-tier, from the super clean rooms in converted Trullis to the wine, to the family that's owned and run it for generations. We stayed at the Masseria as part of a bike tour, but we'll be back on our own.

A 15-minute walk from the town, shops and restaurants of Locorotundo, the Masseria Aprile is the ideal place for groups, older families, or couples. The immaculate grounds are surrounded by the family's vineyards and are perfect for those seeking a quiet place to recover from biking or the hordes of tourists in Alberobello.

The rooms, some of which are converted from historic Trullis are super clean, comfortable and quiet. Many open onto a beautiful garden with space to relax and clotheslines to dry sweaty bike gear.

Be sure to schedule a tasting of the family's wine and then go ahead and buy as many bottles as you can carry, because it's some of the best you'll find, and super reasonably priced (5 Euros, currently). Only available on-premise, and possibly only if you're staying there.

The history, the family and the wine are unforgettable and will be a highlight of any trip to the region.

PERFECT for groups and couples, maybe a little remote and quiet for singles and young families.

Masseria Aprile was stunning. The grounds were beautiful and the trulli room was so unique, spacious and comfortable. The bed was comfortable, the large bathroom had a great shower and sink with plenty of space for toiletries, and the kitchenette was perfect to have a snack or wine/beer. The breakfast served by the family was delicious! Several Homemade cakes and baked savory choices every day and the capaccino was very good. We enjoyed our patio overlooking the chicken and donkey pens after a day of Site seeing in the area. The owners were helpful with site seeing suggestions and restaurants. We had a wonderful time here and highly recommend.

We stayed two nights as part of our food and wine cycling tour with Salento Bici. This is a very special place run by the Aprile family who have owned this farm for centuries. The family members are very hands on: the mama, Stefanie her daughter and her husband Fabio all have parts to play in making you feel so welcome. Our room was charming with an outside terrace plus access to another large terrace and gardens. As part of our wine and food tour we had a wine tasting session overlooking the vineyard. Breakfast is served by the family with produce from their farm including figs plus mama’s home made cakes: her cream pie was ace! You can buy their white and red wine for 5 Euros a bottle. The town of Locorotondo is only a 20 minute walk.
Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

This was truly a unique experience I will never forget. Like all the other reviews, staying here was like being part of the Aprile family. The family is so kind and warm. I loved being hosted by Anna and Stefania. They went above and beyond when it comes to service. What was very special, was I was there solo traveling for my birthday which I did not tell them when my birthday was but they must have noticed from my passport. that morning at breakfast, instead of taking my cake (which by the way Anna handmakes a variety of cakes every morning) to my table they told me Anna & Stefania said they'd bring it to me. Next thing you know, they have a candle in the cake and are singing happy birthday to me bringing me a bottle of wine too. It was the sweetest thing ever. It really made my day start off on such a high note. I was baffled by the kind and thoughtful gesture.

They made every moment of my stay so perfect. I loved going to breakfast each morning with Anna teaching me a few Italian phrases. The foccacia bread she made was absolutely amazing!

Also, the Trulli is absolutely beautiful. And it was very cool staying in one. It was such a nice place. I bought olive oil from them at the end. the region is known for it so I'd definetly recommend bringing some back with you.

In terms of the location, it was great! I rented a car and there was a safe place for me to park it. Locorotondo is the perfect location for exploring the nearby cities of puglia. Many places including Polignano a Mare, Alberebello, Ostuni, etc are all within 30 minutes. Locorotondo itself was one of my favourite towns. A quiet, pretty village with white washed buildings.

I highly recommend a stay here, it will be one you will never forget.

Excellent breakfasts! Fresh eggs from onsite chickens, and fresh ricotta and burrata from a neighboring farm. Beautiful and spotless accomodations in trulli on a masseria in the Aprile family for 12 generations. Mama Anna does the cooking and it is outstanding. She doesn't speak English, but daughter Stepania does along with her husband. Beautiful property. Trulli are air conditioned and heated, and have spacious bathrooms and very comfortable beds. Located just outside of Locorotondo with a gorgeous view of the town. The estate's wine and olive oil are fantastic and very reasonably priced. Very hospitable. Highly recommend!

If you are looking for a beautiful, authentic, and "trulli" relaxing spot to stay while you explore Locorotondo and the many other picturesque historical sites of the Puglia countryside, Agriturismo Masseria Aprile is an ideal place to stay. Each room is uniquely designed, clean, comfortable, and beautifully appointed within the farm's variety of historic Trullo buildings. It is in the countryside, so it is very quiet. The only sounds were those of the chickens and donkeys after the sun came up.

Stefania and her family are welcoming hosts. They treated us so well. Lastly, each morning, look forward to enjoying a wonderful farm-fresh breakfast with AMAZING coffee and farm-fresh eggs.

Masseria Aprile sits nestled in vineyards, looking up the hill toward Locorotondo, glistening white in the distance. From the moment the green iron gates swung open, we knew we had stumbled on something special! Diminutive Anna Aprile quietly emerged from the main house to greet us, and within seconds, we were engaged by her warmth and character! From her intro to this generational family-run agriturismo, we knew we had landed somewhere special. Our trulli home, for the next 3 days, was a pleasure to awake in and return to, after touring the surrounding Apulian towns. (If I could bring the mattress back to Australia, it would be in my suitcase tomorrow!!) Starting the day with the fresh flavours of eggs laid by the happy chickens, amazing cakes baked daily by Anna, local fresh cheese, home-made jams bursting with flavor, the tastiest figs you will ever find, and excellent brewed coffee, was a ritual we relished. Set in a garden room suspended over the vineyard, it was magical in every way. Stefania, Anna’s daughter, runs it all smoothly, with a quiet style, and excellent English. Antonio Aprile, with a gentle smile, quietly oversees the whole operation, while hands on as chicken feeder, donkey whistler, and oenologist extraordinaire! The Aprile Primitivo red wine is beautifully balanced… make sure you buy a few bottles. We felt utterly spoilt by this warm and generous family, who know how to turn Agroturismo into “agroturissimo”!! We feel privileged to have been showered with their hospitality.

We used the Masseria as a base for our visit in Puglia. We spent 4 nights here...the area is so peaceful & quiet but very close to the village of Locorotondo. The hosts made us feel at home immediately...breakfast is delicious & fresh with produce grown on their land Anna was kind enough to adapt to my intolerance and she prepared delicious food which I could eat.
Our room had amazing views, with the garden on one side, and Locorotondo on the other. The area has large grounds we're one can walk & enjoy the tranquillity!

This place is highly recommended and I hope we'll get the chance to visit again

Why we hadn't booked a longer stay? I keep asking myself that question. This is a warm, friendly, wonderful, relaxing agriturismo. The family is so welcoming, Stefania and her mother Anna are amazing hosts. As others have said, they make you feel like family.
Our trulli was so well done, many artist touches were added in the remodeled, from its former life as a chicken coop! Stefania has a great eye for design.
Breakfast is a true "farm to table" meal. Breakfast items changed each day. I asked if they baked the breads too.Stefania told me she gets them from a wood fired bakery in town.
The farm is over 65 acres with grapes, olives, veggies , wheat and alfalfa. There are trails to hike, gardens to sit and relax and animals to enjoy. Plus you can buy the family wine at 5 euros a bottle, loved the red!
We enjoyed our short stay, it was hard to say goodbye.
