This is a very comfortable bed and breakfast with lots of gorgeous extra touches like homemade biscuits and proper coffee in your room and also soft fluffy robes. Our room was beautifully decorated and everything had been thought of - like a home from home. Breakfast was yummy and freshly prepared - we loved the fact that everything was home... More

This one night visit was our first visit to No 43, paid for by our daughter as a thank you for all our help. At a £130 for bed and breakfast this was not cheap. Me being a Yorkshire man (and we know what Yorkshire men are like with their brass) I did not feel that this was good value... More

and we will definitely return. The attention to detail was thoughtful and we both loved the way Number 43 was run. The breakfast was scrumptious and we felt at home. A lucky find for us and I would thoroughly recommend a visit to both this Guesthouse and take time to explore Arnside, if you can, it is beautiful.

On arrival we were greeted warmly and had tea in the lounge overlooking the estuary. Even though it was late June it was a chilly day. When we were shown to our room Lindsey put the heating on which made the room feel cosy. Our room was beautifully decorated and furnished and the bathroom had a bath and separate shower... More

Number 43 has such glowing reviews it was hard to believe such a Paradise existed! A cheery greeting from Lindsey set the scene, tea and coffee at the ready and we were shown to a room (without a view of the Kent Estuary) that was spotless, perfectly presented and equipped. OK we didn't find the bathrobes quickly enough and I... More

Very tastefully refurbished and comfortable B&B. Beautiful views to the water, yet conveniently located close to town shops, pubs and station wth parking right outside. Very welcoming to children. Lesley is a wonderful host and did everything to make our stay the most pleasant B&B experience we have had to date.

This is a place fit for Royalty and the owner runs a very tight ship. I defy anyone to find fault with the cleanliness and presentation here. It is clearly the best place we have ever stayed! We had the warmest of welcomes...beautiful fresh coffee and a nice chat on arrival and then shown to the most amazing suite. Wow!... More

Just returned from a one night stay at No 43, a beautiful boutique B & B in Arnside. What can we say, it was what we expected and more. We have wanted to stay here for ages after a recommendation, finally with a birthday coming up it seemed a perfect opportunity to book a room and stay. Lesley greeted us... More

My husband booked this hotel as a valentines treat. It was also the first time we went away as a new family. I was very nervous staying away for the first time in a B&B with our daughter who was 7 weeks at the time but we were made to feel very welcome from the very start. We were greeted... More

Cozy warm b&b. Big room with everything you need. Ren toiletries, comfy dressing gowns, complimentary flapjacks and sherry. Views are amazing! We had a room at the top so could see all across the water. Breakfast was delicious! Thoroughly recommended.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Last night at The Enjoy England for Excellence Ceremony we were awarded Gold for the Best Bed and Breakfast in England by Visit England. The position here is fabulous: a vast sky, a pretty village, the Kent estuary spilling into Morcambe Bay. Huge views shoot off to the Lake District, where distant peaks take to the skies. You're at the end of the road, more likely to be disturbed by commuting birds than a car, so sit on the terrace and watch the train puff across the viaduct or follow a flock of geese as they sweep through the valley. As for Number 43, interiors shine after a total renovation. You get glossy books and great views in the sitting room, then an honesty bar in the dining room, where delicious communal breakfasts set you up for the day: freshly squeezed orange juice, baskets of patisserie, porridge with honey and sugar, the full Cumbrian works. Bedrooms vary in size, but all are elegant with warm colours, fabulous linen, excellent beds, sparkling bathrooms. Two suites have the view, one has a free-standing bath by the window in its en-suite. ... more   less
