We agree with the previous review. The website says that the tents are brand new, but they are derilict, as is the whole place, which is in desperate need of maintenance. The toilet in the tent nearly fell over and easily became disconnected from water supply and sewage. Sometimes there was no water. This is really below standard for us. Binta, the manager, and the cleaning lady really try their best but the place looks on the edge of bankruptcy. A boat trip is offered at a very high price (four hours) but then it started nearly 1,5 hrs late, we missed the best hours for birding and the man wanted to return after 2,5 hours. The asking price was 3500 Dalasi, some 100 Euro.

We were confident booking here when we read the previous review but I have no idea where they were staying - it can't have been the bird safari camp! We opted for the tents which were indeed cooler...also damper, dirty and ill equipped. The floor had a thin lino type covering stuck to the canvas and was cracked throughout - we were moved when the owner noticed this but even then the flooring was only maginally better. Flushing the toilet led to copius flooding in both tents - the second accompanied by a cascade from the rear of the toilet. The website and guidebooks said their was electricity but there was none only huricane lamps with nowhere to put these except the floor...absolutely useless and very unsafe. There was also nowhere to put anything except on the floor or bed,

Accomodation is either in huts or walk in safari tents with ensuite bathrooms. I recommend staying in a tent. This is cooler at night than a hut and adds to the rustic nature of the holiday. This can be an advantage as the temperatures up country are hotter than on the coast (we experienced up to 45 degrees C in the shade!) Electricity may sometimes be available in the evenings although arrangements can be made to charge batteries in town. The staff at the camp are extremely hospitable and the food plentiful, including fresh baguettes cooked daily in the oven outside the dining area. The area is ideal for
