Detailed Reviews
We had a really wonderful week at Bella Baita staying in the most beautiful area high in the mountains in very comfortable and immaculately clean guest accommodation. The couple who own the house and run the holiday were fantastic- very hospitable & worked their socks off to make sure the four of us who were staying with them had a really varied & interesting holiday. They are both ex chefs and the food was exceptional & all served with excellent local wine. They are also passionate about sustainability and we really enjoyed visiting local businesses & restaurants with them such as a local liqueur maker making botanicals from local herbs and fruits. It really was one of the best holidays I've been on. We were taught to cook delicious regional food; went porcini mushroom gathering in the woods, visited a local market & beautiful old towns high in the Alps; had amazing day walks in stunning mountain scenery and we sat with the family at dinnertime and learnt all about the area and its history. I'd thoroughly recommend for a holiday with lots of different experiences and with a very personal touch.

We stayed at Bella Baita for just one night enroute to other destinations. We loved Marla and Fabrizio's Mountain retreat and and their amazing hospitality so much we returned a week later for a further 4 nights.
If you are foodies like us, please do a cooking class with Marla and Fabrizio - we had such fun and really did learn how to cook some wonderful local specialities. We could have stayed forever!
We ate at Bella Baita most nights - sensational food and company.
I/we have never experienced such wonder-full natural hospitality, wish we could bottle it up and take it with us!

Bella Baita was a great find that met all of my family's needs. The cooking classes were informative and practical without being presumptuous. The rooms were comfortable and a great price. The hiking in the area was unforgettable, mountains, alpine meadows, cows and vistas to die for. Marla and Fabrizio were great hosts that helped plan hikes, day trips and provided transportation to some of the more remote hiking trails for guests who need them. The food was out of this world with great local ingrediants always in the spotlight. Would recommend to all whether serious foodies, hikers or anyone in-betweenl. Just kick back and enjoy, you won't be disappointed.

We have just returned from a wonderful 5 night stay at Bella Baita. It is exceptionally rare to find somewhere which not only lives up to the reviews but goes beyond them. Bella Baita is that rarity. Beautiful unspoilt location with glorious snow- covered peaks/mountain views, it was a delight to wake up each morning to see the ever-changing light. But that is only part of it - Fabrizio & Marla (both chefs) are generous and wonderful hosts. Each morning we sat down to freshly baked pastries, home-made jams and other breakfast delights.
We were able to hike each day in the sunshine; to a neighbouring village, along a valley floor crossing 7 bridges over a tumbling river, and also a path rising high giving views over Bella Baita. On four days we attended the culinary classes with Fabrizio & Marla and on each occasion learnt to cook a wonderful three-course meal which we then sat and ate together. We thoroughly enjoyed the classes and tasted some exceptional food together. On Easter Sunday we were invited to a family lunch by Fabrizio's parents, Egle and Dante. We were treated to an incredible 12 course lunch with the family after which we all went for an afternoon stroll. Lovely, warm generous hosts - it was more like staying with friends than the usual holiday experience. If you like hiking in the mountains followed by great Italian food then Bella Baita is highly recommended.

We were a bit hesitant having never stayed at a bed & breakfast before, but our 1st experience has definetly spoiled us. Marla and Fabrizio were outstanding hosts. We showed up on short notice and they were more than accommodating. The room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. Their breakfasts were amazing-Marla made sure they consisted of typical Italian breakfast dishes. Since they are both chefs, everything was homemade and delicious. Marla is from the U.S. originally and speaks fluent English while Fabrizio is from Italy and speaks fluent English and Italian. The view from up so high of the French Alps was breathtaking. We especially liked visiting with them each evening to have a drink and discuss our days activities. They really helped us out when we were having trouble figuring out how to navigate the rest of our trip. Also, their suggestions on what to do/not do in the area were very helpful. This spot in the Italian Alps was the perfect place to stay and relax.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at Bella Baita in mid August and we left feeling like we had made two very good new friends, our hosts Marla and Fabrizio. During our stay they could not have done more for us and this was the best B&B we have ever stayed at! Even though we did not have a car, Marla and Fabrizio's instructions about how to find them, along with Fabrizio kindly picking us up at a meeting point, meant that we had very little hassle in getting to Bella Baita.
Our room was spacious and clean and had a great mountain view. Whilst there, we opted to dine with Marla and Fabrizio on all 4 nights and the Italian food cooked by Fabrizio along with Marla's home-made pastries were just delicious and we felt totally spoiled. Exceptional!
Our hosts were also kind enough to arrange a couple of excursions to the surrounding areas, allowing us to view local villages and Olympic sites which we otherwise would not have been able to do because we did not have a car. That was a big bonus for us and it really shows how thoughtful our hosts were. Fabrizio's uncanny talent for predicting the following days weather also meant we were able to hike up the mountain next to Bella Baita in a day! The clearly marked white and red stripes along the path through the forest and up the side of the mountain meant there was no chance of getting lost. The views at the top were definitely worth the hike and we highly recommend it if you get the chance. Go to Bella Baita if you want good food, mountain scenary, and warm, genuine hosts.

Bella Baita was a wonderful place to stay... and to Eat! Marla and Fabrizio are friendly hosts who share all they know about the region. The B and B is in the family home of Fabrizio. Marla has learned much of the history of the area as well as where to go to see the sights, hike, bike etc. We had our 15 year old daughter and her friend- they loved it all. we had connecting rooms which were lovely. The girls loved the siesta shades so they could sleep late in the morning! Breakfasts were delicous and ample. Dinner is prepared on special request. We ate two dinners there and they were absolutely delicious with regional foods. Both Marla and Fabrizio are chefs, Marla's specialty being pastries! The views are marvelous as are the local hikes. The prices are very reasonable, also. This is a delightful, restful place to stay!

We spent two nights at Bella Baita and should have stayed longer. This Bed and Breakfast is located in a gorgeous setting in the mountains close to Turin. Marla and Fabrizio are the consumate hosts. They both have extensive experience in the hotel/hospitality business-Marla in the United States (she is American) and Fabrizio in Europe (he is Italian). If there is anything you need, they make sure that you have it. The food is magnificent. Both Marla and Fabrizio are excellent chefs and Marla's pastries are not to be missed. There is such a comfortable feeling at this B&B that you feel like you are one of the family which includes Fabrizio's parents.
The location offers the best of several worlds. Mountain hiking is out the front door. Touring and sightseeing is nearby in Turin. If you are interested in wines from the Piedmont area, as we are, Barolo is about 1.5 hours away by car.
The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are comfortable. Breakfast is included in the very reasonable cost of the room and includes Italian meats, homemade pastries, breads and jams along with fresh fruit and American and Espresso coffee. We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back.

The old adage of "save the best for last" certainly applies to our trip this spring-My sister, Janet, & I wandered from the Greek Islands thru Northern Italy and ended our visit at Marla and Fabrizio's lovely Bella Baita...wined and dined and taught how to make Gnocchi for the 1st time (I know-what self respecting Italian doesn't know how??) we enjoyed every moment of our time with them. This is my second time visiting, and I cannot wait to bring more family members to experience the quiet beauty of the mountains and the pleasure of their company..Grazie Bella Baita-Arrivederci!!

Bella Baita and its owners, Fabrizio and Marla, combined to make one of the most memorable experiences of our two week trip through three countries. Previous reviews let us know that we could expect beautiful environs and delicious food, but the reality exceeded our expectations. Immediately upon arrival, we were given a warm welcome, literally and figuratively, with a roaring fire, hot coffees, and lovely conversation with our hosts. Once we were settled in, we enjoyed an engaging and intimate cooking class, and I'm so glad we chose a smaller setting like Bella Baita to do it. We enjoyed the meal we had prepared together over more lively conversation with bottles of local effervescent red wine. After a comfortable night's sleep, we woke to a breakfast of homemade breads, jams, and other tasty treats before getting a tour of the garden and Fabrizio's restoration projects. My only regret is that we had to rush off to my sister's wedding and only got to spend a single night there. The place and people are so special that we will find a way to return for much longer to enjoy more of the local character and landscape.

We are sorry that it was such a brief visit as well, but honored that you choose to spend some of your precious wedding trip adventure time with us.
