This is our second visit to L'Eveche and we will return again! We have visited as part of a tour group for the last two summers. Although the rooms are basic (and the towels are scratchy!) the real jewel of this place is it's setting and the fabulous food. Madame and her team were excellent hosts and went to great... More

Three nights in a beautiful peaceful setting but with good access to the Cathar sites we wanted to visit. The hotel room was simple and clean and the whole place had bags of character complete with abbey ruins. Restaurant food was excellent and service good.

Clean & comfortable rooms that are very basic. However, a basic room becomes CHARMING once you eat dinner in the restaurant and walk outdoors. The hotel grounds, the river, the historical ruins and the entire village are simply magical. Best dessert: île flottante

Third visit to this hotel over 6 or 7 years. Wonderful setting in old Bishops palace. Huge grounds, right on the river. Right next to ruined Abbey. Plenty of place to park. Big room overlooking a courtyard, with giant trees. Restaurant is excellent as well - although their famous cassoulet was not as good as usual - over cooked if... More

Situated within an historic walled village next to the river Aude the setting and grounds could not be better. We stayed 5 nights. The rooms were fairly basic, but clean, quiet, without a TV (result) and full wi-fi access. The walls are a little thin so likely to hear other guests (friends, in this case) moving about and/or snoring. The... More

This hotel is a lovely place to spend a few days if exploring the area. It adjoins the ruined abbey, with lovely gardens to walk in next to the river. It is a traditional French hotel with a nice restaurant which will prepare fresh cassoulet (order in advance as it comes with a 45 minute wait) The rooms are all... More

Stayed here for a week with a group. The grounds are stunning with an ancient monastery next door for exploring. Rooms very basic, but clean and comfortable. No A/C, but didn't need it in September. Food at the hotel was delicious, Travel was in September of 2010

This hotel is lovely. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. It is peaceful and serene and a serene place to sit and sip wine or dream on the grass under the beautiful old trees. The rooms vary in size, but are well-kept, perfectly cleaned, and comfortable. Te food and wine were wonderful--clean, well-cooked, and beautifully served.

A very nice hotel in the former residence of the bisschop.Situated in a park with trees hundreds of years old the buildings are restored to Original. The room we had in the main building was very sober, but had all facilities you needed for a short stay. Own shower and toilet are not common in older hotels like this in... More
