Ansu is an extraordinary host creating a haven in a magical spot. It's difficult to prioritize the highlights as they were many. From the serene ocean setting to the vintage elegance of the interior design to the keen attention to luxurious detail at every turn, our stay was truly special. The breakfasts were delicious and substantial with an ocean view that simply cannot be beat. Room #3 was spacious, unique and romantic. Ansu went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and to make sure we enjoyed all the best of the area. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone!

I loved my two-night stay at the Oystercatcher's Haven. The guesthouse is ideally located at the southern end of Paternoster, directly above a beautiful beach and rocks. The room was cosy, full of character and had its own private roof terrace overlooking the sea. The owner Ansu is friendly, helpful and full of useful advice. She takes a genuine interest in the wellbeing of her guests. Breakfast was excellent and the staff who served it were lovely. I look forward to returning to this special haven one day!

This small boutique B&B is a true little haven of peace and tranquility situated at the one end of Paternoster. All the rooms are well appointed in a gentle old-world style with superb views of the sea and beach. There is easy access to the beach as well. The staff are charming and attentive, as is the owner, and the breakfasts are excellent. It is a lovely, cozy and relaxing place to stay and enjoy the beauty of Paternoster.

With our comfortable and beautifully decorated room overlooking the magnificent sea and rocks along the beach, and its sound to lull us to sleep, our stay at Oystercatcher Haven in Paternoster was one of the highlights of visiting South Africa. Breakfast was a three-course gourmet delight with wonderful, fresh creations from the kitchen daily. Charming hostess Sue-Anne Hamer made sure we knew where to have dinner and what to do in her beautiful village, and happily answered all of our questions.

We stayed in Room 4. Beautiful sea view and you walk out your door to the beach.
Apparently, this room was slightly smaller than the others, but we loved our Seaview!
Our Hostess, Ansu, was incredibly helpful and friendly and accommodated all our requests.
3 course breakfast of scones, then cereal and fruit, then bacon and eggs, was very enjoyable.
You need to drive to the restaurants, and there is normally one sitting, so book in advance.

This guesthouse is impeccable. The attention to detail in the furnishing and decor is out of this world. Every item is so unique and you can see that the owner put so much thought into decorating. The views are breathtaking. And the breakfast was delicious, great value for money and the service was so friendly and attentive. I can't find fault with anything at this lovely place.

A lovely experience, we would love to return to the warmth we experienced there from lovely people. We felt at home from the first tmoment.
Nothing was too much trouble for the owner/manager who treated us like friends and helped with everything we needed.
The room was lovely, clean and fresh. Breakfast was delicious and enjoyed overlooking the sea in an attractive breakfast room where we could talk to other guests, exchange experiences and get advice. Really a wonderful place to be.

What a nice place! A four room guesthouse in a charming old English Colonial style. Two friendly cats and a very friendly manager: Ansu. It ‘s not easy to interrupt here, but it’s much more fun to let her tell… 😊 Friendly staff makes very tasteful 3 course breakfasts. A stunning view because it is practically on the beach.

We originally booked to stay in Oystercatchers Haven in Paternoster for 2 nights, but changed out stay to four nights. Thank goodness we did, what a wonderful place. The online photos don’t do the property justice! Imagine 3 course breakfasts, strolls on the beach and picture perfect sunsets... Thank you Ansu for your wonderful hospitality. See you the next time we are in Paternoster 😘

This well positioned and luxurious guesthouse was a real find. The rooms have superb views over one of the prettiest bays in Paternoster and it is easy to access the beach for an early-morning, or late-afternoon walk on the beach. The rooms are well furnished with attention to the details that make a beach holiday. The breakfast varies each morning, but always includes fresh fruit and a range of egg options. The host is knowledgeable about local restaurant options, and clearly enjoys welcoming her guests. Highly recommended.

I’m not sure why I’m being asked this question. I was a guest from New Zealand who stayed at Oystercatchers Haven and wrote a review. I don’t own or rent out this property. Cheers Fiona

Dear Wendy, Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately, the house is not wheelchair friendly. Room 1 is on the lower level, but there is 2 steps that leads up to the room. The bathroom is big enough to accommodate a wheelchair and we would be able to move a few things around in the room to allow for more space. I would also gladly welcome your service dog. Please give me a call, should you wish to discuss the access and layout in more detail. Not sure about your husbands' movability, but I think it might be a little bit tricky. Kind regards, Sue-Anne 022 752 2193 082 856 2813
