We arrived at the hotel on Saturday afternoon and were advised that that that the hotel was fully booked. (We had pre- booked three weeks in advance) We were advised that there was a disability adapted room available on the ground floor of the Lodge annex which we accepted. At approximately 1.40 a.m. Monday we were woken by loud banging on our windows and entrance doors to the lodge, accompanied by a tirade of foul language . from an inebriated male hotel guest.A barrage of foul language was returned by his friends who had already returned to their room(s) This disturbance continued until approximately 03.30 while his friends attempted to get him back to his room and in to bed. The Dower House is a good hotel in very pleasant surroundings with very good staff. The full English breakfast was disappointing; good quality ingredients spoiled by being served lukewarm. It would be better if cooked to order. The cold choice consisted of fruit juice, cereals , apples oranges and a limited variety of yogurts plus a choice of toasted white or brown bread and preserves. We ate in the smaller dining room both evenings we were staying and both meals were excellent. The Creme brulee was the best we have had and the cheese board was excellent value too. Such a shame that our stay was spoilt by the behaviour of inconsiderate guests.

We stayed for an overnight break, the staff were lovely and the hotel was following Covid procedures and has a high level of cleanliness. The room was a good size and the shower area was huge. The breakfast was ample and service was good.

The Dower House was our first night on our motorbike trip to Scotland. All the staff were welcoming and we had a lovely room with a separate seating area. Our meal was very good and a nice pint of ale. Altogether a very pleasant stay.

We were two couples staying for golf weekend. The staff were an absolute gem, so helpful and friendly. We felt safe with measures in place. the room was large and the food lovely. Plenty of parking and close to the high street for shops etc. We will definitely be back.

Stayed for just one night, unfortunately, but it was a great experience. First time in a hotel since the lockdown so wondered how it would go. It was really nice, very helpful and friendly staff. We had a large , very comfortable and pretty room in the annex. Evening meal was superb, as was breakfast this morning. Definitely hope to return.
