The Agriturismo Montepaolo is a family owned and operated 16th century farmhouse located in the southeastern region of Italy called Puglia , in the WWF protected area of "Conversano lakes". The farmhouse sits on a small hill three kilometers outside of the medieval town of Conversano and only seven kilometers from the Adriatic Sea. The property was originally a country residence used for hunting parties by its former owners, the Counts Acquaviva d'Aragona. Montepaolo includes olive groves, outdoor terraces and a pool as well as its own little church.Agriturismo Montepaolo has been carefully restored to maintain its rustic charm, while fully equipped with modern amenities. It is now an elegant farmhouse with 10 rooms. All the 10 finely furnished rooms, have a private bathroom, telephone, TV, fridge, safe deposit box, hairdryer and other amenities. Each room has a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. Facilities include free wifi connection, free use of our bikes, of the swimming pool and of an equipped baby park. Recently a "winter garden" made in wood and glass has been completed to host wedding parties or special events. A medieval stone tower, dated from the 14th century, stands not far from the main structure La Torre del Brigante di Montepaolo ( The Tower of the Highway Bandits of Montepaolo) is officially recognized by the State as a structure of particular historical and architectural interest. The Tower hosts two independent apartments, one on the ground floor and one on the first floor. The apartments are fitted with quality materials and the latest fixtures. Each of them has independent heating and air conditioning systems. They are comprised of a master conjugal bedroom, a guest bedroom with two single beds or a double bed, a living with an equipped kitchen and bathroom. To reach the main building ,the guests of the tower can walk through a suggestive Mediterranean grove. Everything is prepared mainly with fresh local ingredients, following traditional recipes of Puglia . Cooking classes with 10-15 participants are periodically organized.

We stayed in July with our dog, the staff at the reception very very kind, spotless room, we had dinner there and had a great time, great food and great price, the dog was also spoiled at no extra cost. The restaurant and breakfast staff: lovely people. Absolutely recommended

Conveniently located Masseria within easy reach of key sites in Valle D’Itria (Polignano a Mare, Alberobello, Martina Franca…). Beautiful grounds and pool. Decent sized room and comfortable bed. Nice continental breakfast with great cappuccino. Dinner is good as well, and is set outdoors. The service overall was perfect. Some things to consider: some rooms (our room) are up flights of stairs. The shower water availability, pressure, and temperature was variable. We always ended with hot shower, it just takes a bit of patience. The Masseria hosts local events with music, which you will hear in the distance (away from the rooms) until about midnight on certain nights.

Nineteenth-century farmhouse, in my opinion, wonderful!
We were guests of the restaurant, not for a stay, but the structure immediately conveys the idea of attention to detail!
We had lunch on January 1st, not a very rich menu, but really good food! A cuisine that recalls all the Apulian tradition!
Only two negative notes
• a start-of-the-year menu without seasonal fruit is like not putting the icing on the cake
• presence of cats that come and go as they please from the room while you are having lunch!
Adviser to provide a double entrance to the central room also to avoid cold shocks during the winter for guests directly near the entrance.
Apart from this, I really recommend going to this splendid farm!

Dimora del caos la chiamerei più che charme!!
Let's start from the superficial area with which they treat you upon arrival in the structure, that is, it depends on who welcomes you, there is Anna the wonderful Anna and then c and who treats guests like customers "BREAKERS". That said, on Monday avoid the structure has neither a lunch nor a dinner nor a bar service (watch out for beer that pays for three hundred percent more among other room temperature and what temperatures these days). They could still offer you a quick lunch, avoid it .. Let's go to the cooling system of the rooms, if you go back in the reviews you will already find that in 2022 they had problems that today still and especially the same pappardella said and laughed (the maintainer will come tomorrow). At 5am my husband and I ran away in despair

The quality/price ratio is absolutely low. Asking for those figures requires guaranteeing high level services and this is not always the case. The structure is wonderful, but cold. In the reception there is nice warm air, but once you arrive in the building where the rooms are located the heating is turned off. In the rooms the mattress is uncomfortable and dated and the TV is very, very small. The heating is managed with a heat pump air conditioner, but considering the location, hot air never reaches the bathroom. Then when you leave the hot room you find yourself in very cold corridors and it's not ideal. Dinner at the restaurant is medium level, but overpriced. It's a shame because the structure is really beautiful

Arrogance at its finest, terrible staff. We arrived a little early and they said we'll see you later, check in is at 3:00 PM. This can also be communicated differently. We ended up having to wait until 3:45 PM for our medieval-looking apartment that was 300 meters away. So that means walking along the deserted road in the dark for dinner. Also not possible to go to the pool with your bikini. We canceled on the spot and drove away with screeching tires. When we canceled, something could suddenly be arranged regarding a room exchange and when we asked earlier they were 'fully booked'. They have no customer friendliness here. Other new visitors did not yet have a key at 4:30 PM.

We went for a family lunch....
In short, cold and tasteless appetizers, a first course without particular attention, details and a cut of meat served cold with rather tough meat, so much so that we asked to replace the meal... Revisited dessert, that is, an Easter dove with ice cream 🤮
All to pay the modest amount is to say 50 euros per person...
I would only save the friendliness of the staff and the owner but frankly I won't go back again. A remote place to eat in such a mediocre way!!

We were guests at this property in August. It is located in the countryside a few km away. from Conversano, the road to get there is not the most comfortable but not impossible either. The environment is very nice and welcoming and met our needs. Large and comfortable room, well looked after and adequate services. A particular note that we would like to add was the welcome of the staff, always attentive and kind. We will take home with us a beautiful memory of the days spent on the farm.

Very beautiful farmhouse, immersed in wonderful scenery. Our room overlooked the countryside, tranquility reigned supreme. The only two notes we make but for constructive criticism: there is still too much plastic for a home like this, and breakfast should be more genuine with local products. Very friendly, helpful staff.

"If you travel with children maybe the rooms in the "tower" (torre) are better. A very nice ancient tower made of two appartments. A lot of space. The tower is quiet and just 200m away from the main BB."Read full review
