My husband and I stayed at Casa Bianca for 4 nights. We wish we could have stayed longer.... The location is absolutely wonderful! Stunning views on the Madonie mountains on one side, beautiful view on the sea on the other one. A warm welcome by Margaret, outdoor living on a hillside full of olivetrees, flowers, peace and quiet, slow life, good food (doing our groceries in the small shops of Collesano, coffee afterwards in the local bar). Perfect holiday! And yes, the bathroom is too small and a bit worn out. But that does not spoil the feeling of luxury of being able to spent some time in such a wonderful place. (By the way, a brand new pool was built in the garden of the biggest house, Casa Rosita; we were to first to enjoy it :-) ) The kitchen in Casa Bianca is sufficiently equiped and there is a BBQ on the terrace. We slept fine in the large bed on the mezzanine, the house and the beautiful garden are very well maintained, so is the private pool. We loved the place!…
We stayed here for a week towards the end of September. We arrrived feeling tired out and in need of some serious R&R and were not disappointed. This is a place made for loafing around in the hammock on the lovely big terrace and dinner under the stars. It is not particularly flashy or sophisticated so if you like swish hotels and all kind of flashy decor then this is not for you. It feels solid and authentic and the kitchen is small but well equiped. Bathroom is on the small side but adequate. The bedroom is up stairs on a mezzanine level which won't suits everyone but we soon adjusted to it and it wasn't a hassle. We loved this place and definitely want to visit again, primarily because it is in such a beautiful location, allows you to be independent and has everything you need for a pleasant stay. It is luxurious? No, but it is comfortable and has all kind of lovely personal touches. If authenticity and outdoor space matters to you, you will love this place.…
We stayed in Casa Margaret for two weeks and had the best holiday ever. The house. had every amenity including air con, confortable beds with lovely linen, plenty of towels do look at the photographs as they reflect the love that has gone into the property. Cannot recommend it highly enough. The owner went to great lengths to make sure we had everything we needed, and was utterly charming together with her staff whom tended the pools and land daily.
It took us one night to understand that: -the Casa does not fit more than 3 guests, -the beds are impossible to sleep on, old and overused mattresses -to the top room you can not access with a suitcase, actually not even with a trolly, -the beach is far and dirty, -the "swimming pool" is jacuzzi size, -the other "shared" swimming pool was not to share, -you need to pay extra for electricity, -the kitchen is too small even for one person. We booked for 8 night and left after 3. The location is very nice in a very quite area, the Casa is decorated very nice and has great potential if the owner had thought about his guests
My wife and I stayed at Casa Margaret for four nights and are happy that we did. When travelling in Italy, we tend to stay at “agriturismo” type properties whenever possible and they have never disappointed us. Casa Margaret was a perfect choice. The property is located on an olive plantation in the hills above Campofelice di Roccella. The plantation is gated for privacy, you get a remote control to activate the gate. Three individual houses are on the property, all old and constructed of the local field stone, and all are completely modernized. We stayed at the Casa Bianca, an ideal spot for a couple. A well-stocked kitchen, nice sitting area with TV (if wanted but really, sit on the covered patio and take in the view). WiFi included (you may need to ask). The bed is located in a loft above the kitchen. Everything is new, clean, and constructed to very high standards. Nice parking area, great covered patio with a large table and lounge chairs, brick barbeque, and best of all, you are pretty well completely on your own. Take the path to the top of the property, there is a nice view. We loved exploring the north coast of Sicily with towns such as Cefalu and then coming “home” to Casa Margaret, cooking a small supper and drinking wine on our patio surrounded by nature. Palermo and Milazzo (departure point for boats and ferries to the Aeolian Islands) are easily reached by Autostrada. As with many agriturismo properties, you need a car to get there, this place is not accessible by public transport. In our case, the owners met us at the main Piazza in Campofelice at a pre-set time and showed us the way to the property. We were met by the owner Margaret, the grounds person Eugenio, and Alfonse, (Mama) who takes great pride in the place. Margaret and Eugenio spoke English well enough to allow us to communicate easily. Eugenio takes care of any issues that may arise, and is especially responsive to SMS. If you want to get away from it all, with a nice view of the Mediterranean and surrounding hills, book this place. If you are looking for a good restaurant, go the town of Collesano (10 minute drive into the hills, find a place called La Lanterna, all the locals came to eat here the night we were there, great food, excellent service, very pleasant). There is a pool (shared between the three houses) but is was not yet opened for the season in mid-May so I can’t comment. Negative points; if you are a large person, the shower in the Casa Bianca is not for you, very tight. If you sure very tall, you will need to watch your head on the beams in the upper loft bedroom. Gracie Margaret, your Casa Bianca was exactly what we had hoped for. We’ll use this place as a starting point for our next Sicily trip.…
