I stayed one night in a single room on the second floor. Everyone was very kind and friendly and spoke good English. The room looks to have been refurbished recently. The two negative points I might note are dinner which I ate at the hotel but I think it was mainly because of my lack of compatibility with local cuisine.... More

This was an overnight stop on the Rhine, on our way north to the Channel ferry. It served our purposes well - the host spoke good English, and rooms were excellent, with very modern bathrooms. Even a little kettle and drinks tray in the room, and a plentiful supply of various teabags etc on the bar counter downstairs. It is... More

This property usually receives great reviews. I wish I could join the chorus. When you have driven 700 kms and ask where you can park your car, the answer you don't want is "I don't know". Especially when the information in your room indeed tells you where you can park your car. Especially when the hotel description says "provides free... More

Friendly reception in this sleepy, little town along The Rhein by a smiling owner who spoke fluent English. We were given a private garage 20m from the hotel and shown to the room. We had to climb some stairs, but then the reward was there. A nice big room with a great bed and a spacious and modern bathroom. A... More

It's great to see a family take such pride in their hotel and restaurant. We lucked out to be staying here during a walking tour that included a Sunday night when the family cooks a terrific barbecue with a wide range of meats and salads. A real treat. Friendly personnel service and all you could eat....in a very family setting.... More

We spent 5 days here at the beginning of June. Werner Kochhauser and his staff were really fantastic, hospitality was second to none, the food delicious. The accommodation was traditional, clean an well serviced. Set amongst beautiful scenery and on the banks of the river Rheine we had wonderful days out sightseeing, would thoroughly recommend it, especially to those who... More

First night in Germany at the beginning of our walking holiday and we couldn't have picked a nicer hotel. The owners were great and their hospitality was second to none. We spent one night here while walking the Rheinburgenweg. Our luggage had arrived before us but, after completing a lengthy stage of the walk, we were disappointed that there was no lift and the bags had to be carried up to our second floor room! The room itself was newly renovated with a modern bathroom providing plenty of hot water.... More
