This was the second time we have stayed here. And we will be back. The staff are very friendly and helpful nothing is too much trouble. It was my wifes birthday while we were there and we came back to find the room decorated and complementary champagne in the room. The view over the sea is to die for and whilst it is very close to the airport this is not a problem as the way the hotel is layed out there is no sound of the planes just a great view as they flight out over the sea and turn back to land. The food here is excellent and the breakfasts are probably the best i have ever had anywhere. On our last day I had as final swim in the tidal swimming pool and lost my wedding ring. I reported it to reception and about 2 weeks later they emailed me to say they had drained the pool and found it. They have now sent it back to me for which I am forever in their debt. Please try this hotel if you are in Maderia you won't be disappointed

Hotel's Favorite
Old world service in modern setting. The hotel's crown jewel is a stunning swimming pool set in the Atlantic Ocean. Another pool is situated on land for those not wishing to take the stairs down and back. Rooms are huge with seatng and eating spaces. Dinner in the restaurant was world class both in service and delicious cuisine. Breakfast offering were plentiful and cooked to order. Yet it is a casual, relaxing place, set directly on the island's edge. Free shuttle.

Firstly, there are no yatchs here or beaches. The title of the hotel suggested lots going on and a lively atmosphere. However, it is quite the opposite... quiet, out of the way and relaxing. It took us a few days to slow down into the rhythm of the place. Lovely views over the bay. Large rooms and very clean. First rate breakfast. Excellent dining cuisine. The staff were extremely helpful. A special mention to Fabritzio who worked in the bar - his English is so good he did not make one grammatical error at all! Great sense of humour too. Also, to the lovely young lady with the long dark hair who worked on reception (sorry, I didn’t find out her name)... so genuine and helpful. All in all, if relaxation is what you require, this is just the ticket.

Madeira is a beautiful little island, north of the Atlantic Ocean – one too big for me to see all over a long weekend (I’m ambitious ha-ha!). I stayed in the city of Funchal, and I travelled to other regions to discover the Laurissilva Forrest on horseback, get close to the killer whales in the sea etc… I really thank God for the experience, and all the staff at the Albatroz Beach & Yacht Club Hotel. impressions count, and Duarte done well! Duarte’s good contact skills got me to the Hotel, which is about a 5-8-minute drive from Funchal Airport, quickly and safely. I received a very warm welcome from the Hotel manager, Diogo Jardim, and Mr Coelho. Mr Coelho wore his passion for the Hotel on his sleeves constantly, and I loved talking with him about the history of the Hotel. More could be learned about the autonomous area of Portugal in the Hotel library. Duarte showed me around, and he introduced me to my sea-view lodging which was spectacular! It was spacious, exceptionally clean and had everything I expected and more including complimentary fruit and water. Dawn chorus at sunrise from my patio was wonderful, accompanied by birdwatching. The arrays of ocean colours were pretty. The gym, as like the sauna, was basic but suited my requirements. The restaurant was well entertained by Chef, Ana, Fabricio and Francisco. Various types of foods were on the menu for breakfast (assortment of breads and croissants, cold meats, eggs and bacon (just how I like them!), fruits, smoothies (yummy!), etc.), lunch and dinner (different meats, fishes and veggies etc.). I could not fault the quality of Chef’s food, served with a generous amount of Fabricio’s banter and great sense of humour, Ana’s attention to detail, and Francisco’s ability to speak with guests in their own language. I felt everyone, including the cleaners, helped to make my stay most enjoyable. I would like my coming birthday to be special, and I hope to celebrate it at pool at sea level Hotel. Madeira appears uncomplicated and rich with the warmth of the people! One more thing, taxis are expensive so best to hire a car.

We need a room for one night before leaving Madeira. This was the closest hotel and we just expected a room and a meal We found an oasis with a wonderful view over the ocean, we were upgraded to a superior room, large, with fruit and beverages The hotel has the most wonderful pools at sea level, you should go there even if it’s raining, the staff will open the outside jacuzzi for warming you up afterwards There is a nice and very generous breakfast We have dinner, and there is nowhere else to go, the food was average The staff was very, very nice and concerning. They were outside welcoming us and drove us to the airport They found out that it was my husbands birthday, and he was celebrated with champagne in the room This hotel is perfect nest and surprisingly warm and welcoming You can’t go anywhere but the staff can arrange tours as you want
