#1 of 4 B&Bs / Inns in Schiltach
Small intimate hotel on the bank of the Schiltach River. Incredible restaurant with full bar and menu. The outdoor beer garden on the river is described by all who visit as "Boardwalk in Schiltach." Panoramic views from every direction sitting on the waters edge. If you want to stay where everyone will know your name, come to the Brucke. You will love our town and our little Black Forest Hotel.

We were on one week road trip in Germany and decided on last minute to spend the night at Schiltach. It was the best town we visited thus far. Michael's was very friendly and helpful. His little hotel is right by the river bank and we were given top floor with beautiful scenery from the window. Certainly one day is not enough.

We stayed here over 6 nights while visiting the black forest. Firstly, before our arrival we had some questions re the property and found that the owner was very quick in responding to enquiries. Which was a plus. Upon our arrival, Michael the owner greeted us warmly and gave us an upgrade to a larger room, we were so pleased we found our Room had a lounge and seperate bathroom over looking the river. Wifi was also in room and free of charge, there was a tv, fridge and a very good power shower and hair dryer. Parking was never a problem as we parked directly outside and was always available and safe. Breakfast was served from 8AM, nice local cheeses, ham, fresh bread and juices and various yogurts with lovely fresh berries. We also ate at the restaurant one night and can reccomend the Goulash soup, which was excellent. There is also a bakery next door?( about 50m) that opens at 6H30pm. In summer there is also a beer garden outside. There is a full bar in the restaurant and very convenient if you want to drink anything Michael the owner was very forthcomming and helpfull at every turn to help us with information about the area. We found him very approachable and easy to converse with and spoke very good English . A gentle soul that would go out of his way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Very sincere person. We read some reviews about the decor and other small things that we thought did not apply to our stay. We made up our own minds regarding comming here. The property is very old and some things are probably not brand new, but it was a clean, homely place in a very characterful German town. All things inside the propert was original including the lovely ceramic style Russion stove heating the house. At night we slept with the window ajar and loved the sound of the river trickle past. Michael too was often in the bar area ready to chat and interested in hearing about your day and experiences. Felt like home away from home! We came, we saw , we had a great time!!

Mikel was very accommodating and friendly. His English was very good. The room was perfect and the bed was large. He is right in the downtown area. He made us an excellent dinner with a local dish that he suggested and breakfast was very good. The town of Schiltach was very charming. Would highly recommend Mikels place.

The hotel is easy to find with parking close by. This is a charming little inn by a bubbling river. Our host Michael was friendly and welcoming and quite the perfect host. Dinner was wonderful and the dining room comfortable with conversation delightful among the tables. While there may be some evidence of a care worn room, it is clean and comfortable and everything we wanted. We will come here again if we are ever in the area.

Arrived late on a sunday night. Phoned Michael on the way and he made a point of waiting for me to arrive. Very freindly host who speaks good English. He goes out of his way to make you feel at home.food is good home style cooking. Breakfast is Continental style. All in all a great base from which to explore the Black Forest.
