Detailed Reviews
The hotel is not the best looking but who cares really. There is a slight whiff of sewage outside but you can't smell it in the hotel.
Receptionist was lovely at check in and helpful with bus times etc. I downloaded Rome2rio which is brilliant for bus times, prices etc. We went to Los cristianos for €1.50 each and €2 to las Americas, because the location of the hotel is not great.
We are in room 8 which is ground floor and it's a massive 2 bedroom apartment, with kitchen but no utensils, plates etc only mugs spoons and glasses probably because we are all inclusive.
The rooms are in need of attention in places but didn't bother us. Cleaned every day. Wifi is good in rooms which has its own router. You have to log in to room and public areas separate. TV has most ITV channels and some other english channels.
Pool area is massive but absolutely freezing and is salt water. It is emptied and refilled once a week to get rid of the seaweed that comes in when the waves crash against the rocks which is directly in front of the pool. Loads of sunbeds and you can hire a cushion for sunbed for €1 per day. The area round the pool desperately needs sorting as it's very broken up and hard to walk on but the hotel has been taken over recently and is being repaired soon.
Food ok always something unless you're really picky. English breakfast good.
Massive problem for us with having kids is the snacks inbetween the main meal times. They are only on for 1 hour morning and afternoon and consist only of bread, cheese and ham. You also have to eat in the restaurant and not allowed to eat it by the pool. You can buy hot snacks like chips and pizza to eat by the pool but I think as it's all inclusive it should be free.
And that is THE only reason I won't return to this hotel because the moaning I've endured from the kids being hungry between meal times has sent me wappy. Apart from that it's a good hotel.
Ps....watch out for the umbrellas round the pool, I've lost count how many people have cracked their heads on them because they are like a fibreglass material and trust me it bloody hurts

Sharon, many thanks for taking the time to leave such a comprehensive and personal review. Your kids must have some appetite. The buffet for breakfast is open from 7.15am until 10am, lunch 1.15pm to 3pm and dinner 7.15pm until 9.30pm. Its almost like a food-a-thon. Most guests complain about putting on weight during their holiday here. For those of us who are tall, yes the umbrellas are our height but hopefully we can replace them with adjustable sizes in the near future. I hope the head mends soon. With best wishes.

Don't be put off by the 'multistorey car park' appearance of this hotel. inside the rooms are spacious with nice balconies, the sea-water pool is massive (though cold!), the food is plentiful and plenty of choice, and the staff are helpful. The animation team work hard - the Aquarobics is definitely worth a go, even if just to warm you up in the pool. One tip - make sure you pick up your cutlery and bag a table before you start piling your plate with food, otherwise you could be walking around for a while looking for a table. Unfortunately there are still no English channels on the TVs. There are frequent buses from just over the road if you want to visit Los Cristianos or elsewhere. The tour called 'Teide and Masca' is well worth it, but the free trip to the bedding place was marred by the hour and forty minutes of hotel pickups before the tour started. Overall a good place to stay, with plenty of cafes and restaurants on hand if you want totry something different for eating.

Stef. Many thanks for your positive and encouraging review. We appreciate you taking the time to write and for considering it to be "decent". The issue with the TV channels is being resolved and it is not hotel wide, just specific to some rooms. They are all being rechecked but thanks for mentioning it. We hope you can back and enjoy our hospitality again in the near future.

We have just returned back from the Alborada Beach Club after a very enjoyable 8 days stay there. I am really pleased I did not listen too much to some of the reviews on here as I don't think they are justifiable. For the price that we paid we could not fault the hotel and service. Admittedly the building is in need of a face lift but having spoken with the manager at the end of our stay , he pointed out the problems that the hotel had previously had and how he would be working to rectify this. In fact some maintenance work was being carried out whilst we were there to improve things.
On our arrival we were met by very helpful reception staff who spoke perfect English and told us everything we needed to know. The entertainments /animation team worked tirelessly each day and tried to include everyone in daily activities and were all very friendly. The restaurant was very clean and offered quite a good variety of food to suit all tastes, most days there was a selection of meats including pork ,chicken and usually filleted fish. A nice variety of salads were on offer at both lunchtime and evening times . Desserts were a little limited , but you could always have mixed fruit salads, ice creams or croissants and mini cakes.
The pool area was absolutely huge with plenty of sun beds to go around and fixed umbrellas if required. The pool itself is an infinity salt water one and was cleaned out on a regular basis with a nice little beach area to one side. The views out across the ocean from poolside are probably the hotels biggest asset.
The pool bar was normally manned by 2 people serving drinks, there was sometimes a longish queue at the bar but this soon went down as the bar staff just poured the spirits and customers added their own mixers so this cut serving times down.
Children's entertainment was on every evening in the pool bar followed by an act for the adults. The entertainment was not everyone's cup of tea all the time but you can't please everyone.
The rooms were a little dated but very spacious with good sized living and bedrooms and were cleaned regularly with fresh towels left after cleaning. The only down side in our room was that there was only one electrical socket that would fit our 2 pin plugs, the other sockets were smaller so we needed to charge both phones and use the wife's hairdryer, straighteners all using one socket in the bathroom but we coped.
All in all we could not fault the service we received for the money that we paid and would definitely come back, in reality if you are looking for a 5 star hotel then try looking for the Galletas Hilton.

Andy, thank you for saying hello before your departed. We are delighted to read your review. Your feedback is comprehensive clear and helpful. For example, reviewing our selection of desserts and probably the entertainment each evening. Sorry about the antiquated socket. We do have some extension leads at reception but we are underway trying to replace the older style socket. Poco a poco as they say here. We look forward to welcoming you back soon again and hopefully there won't be an expensive branded name over the entrance and we can keep it 3 star and value for money!

Came here to celebrate Christmas and New year and so far so good, Christmas Day was great the hotel staff were brilliant, great day around the pool Christmas songs playing and the staff entertainment did not stop, Santa even paid a visit and gave out presents.
On to New Year’s Eve and our other friends had arrived then too. The Gala dinner was absolutely fantastic, champagne reception, a good red wine with our meal and seating all 26 of us together was no problem to the staff, the food was better than any restaurant I’ve eaten at at this time of year as most restaurants simply can’t handle the work load involved so either the food or service suffers, not here though the staff did not stop, the menu consisted of steak, duck, lamb and lots more, a chocolate fountain just to name a few, small bags of grapes given out for midnight and party bags for the evening entertainment which again did not stop!! All inclusive until 1am too!!!
On to the hotel itself you do need footwear around the pool as the floor is very uneven and I appreciate the new management has only recently taken over but that would be the first thing I think needs sorting to be honest, as for the rooms they are spacious and cleaned daily, kettles are available from reception and are free of charge so just ask.
Amstel larger on draught and good Sangria, names brands of spirts are available at a cost around €3-4 which are served in glasses not plastic cups.
Food great!!
Nice walks around, shops, harbour, nice children’s parks
Would I return absolutely!!! Thanks for a fantastic holiday Alborada xx

I won't go on about how it looks, if you have read other reviews you will know by now. The reception staff were friendly, greeted us with a smile and processed us through check in very efficiently. The apartments are large, the beds uncomfortable and very squeaky, the bathroom was tiled by someone who hates flat surfaces, but the water was always warm and wet and everything was clean.
For me, meal times were a real lottery, sometimes you'd go in and at first look there would be 2 or 3 things that you liked the look of, other times 0. Compared to other buffets i have visited in other Canary islands it doen't rank highly. I know it is difficult to cater for lots of nationalities at once, but which country's native cuisine is fat and bone stew? Still, there was always some salad, chips and ice cream! At most sittings, the restaurant would run out something; plates, cutlery, cups or glasses and unless you were up really early, tea spoons. The staff were always stretched clearing tables.
The bar area was ok, but in general the staff were over worked and needed help, as they had to cook the snacks as well. We were often queuing out of the door, for a couple of small plastic cups of beer. The plastic waste generated here is amazing, Greta Thunberg would have a small fit (although, to be fair, she wouldn't be too happy about us flying there in the 1st place!)
For the price, it's ok. If it was slightly more expensive maybe they could hire enough staff and gain another point. It is what it is.

First I’m going to start by saying I might give your fave restaurant a bad review? Everyone is different speak as you find!
Food/drinks all inclusive fab hot n plentiful
Rooms cleaned daily, yes may look a bit old school decor etc but has all you need. Comfy beds, clean towels daily, fridge, even brought us a kettle n we didn’t even ask for one. Plus we were all inclusive so they didn’t need to! Only thing u need to bring is a hairdryer as not supplied.
Staff all lovely, great help friendly and most speak English.
Pool fabulous salt water massive pool straight into sea horizon, yes it’s cold but it very refreshing when your melting from the heat, also drained and cleaned once each week which I witnessed.
Grounds are large with lovely palm trees and grassy areas, well maintained and seeing the wild green parrots flying around them all day is amazing.
Plenty of sun beds to choose from and €1 if you want a comfy topper (which I recommend as so much better to relax on, 7 days of toppers cost me €7 cheaper than buying a lilo.
Outside of the hotel grounds you will find a quiet little town with local shops cheap as chips and little Italian style cafe n bars, we had a cocktail every day at one place and they brought us some free food every time, from pizza to toasties how lovely.
Entertainment crew in hotel were fab n hardworking plus always did their best to get you to join in stretching/yoga or aqua aerobics n played games and other sports throughout the day. Acts of singing or comedy on nightly at the bar after kids disco.
We took €450e for the week and still had €120 each left at airport home time (more goodies from duty free)
This hotel all in all was fantastic and I will defo be booking my next visit soon, staff can’t do enough for you, landed and got to hotel 9pm and was told go get some food from restaurant straight away and our cases would be looked after at reception till we finished (how nice to be concerned you get fed first) plus we checked out at 12pm transfer wasn’t collecting us till 6pm and let us have all the food, drinks and communal facilities till then. Lovely big luggage room with showers n multiple toilets to freshen up in before we left.
Plus had a 10 min massage from one of the massage chairs in reception 30 mins before bus pick up for airport wow wow wow felt lovely and relaxed for the journey home!
Never judge a book by its cover!!! This hotel is a gem 💖

Thank you Christine for taking the time to write a review and to share your positive experiences with us over the course of your stay. We were delighted that you enjoyed yourselves. We take on board your comments about the food temperature but be mindful that there is a microwave available at the buffet for those who like to have their food that little bit hotter. Malibu is a premium brand that is not on our A. I. programme but we offer an alternative sweet clear rum too that is on the A.I. Hopefully we can welcome you back soon.

We have been coming here for about 7 years now and we have never seen it so good, thanks to new owners and management.
Helpful and friendly reception staff not only make check in easy, but they are always ready to give advice on absolutely anything.
Our huge room was spotless on arrival and cleaned every day, which is new and very welcome
Towels changed daily if required
Sheets changed very regularly
Comfy beds. We requested extra pillows and they were delivered immediately.
The food has vastly improved with plenty of choice . Always plenty to eat!
Christmas Dinner and New Years dinner absolutely blew us away! The amount of work put into it was wonderful.
The pool is amazing and kept very clean. A little chilly at this time of year but I went in most days. Fabulous!
Great animation team and a much improved evening entertainment programme.
The all inclusive drinks has now been extended to 11pm which is so much better. Theres the option of buying drinks after this but we'd had enough by them!
A generous extension until 1 am was great, with music playing until the early hours.
The staff are amazing. Every one of them makes you feel welcome. And so genuinely caring.
The General manager is very 'hands on' , talking to guests and encouraging the staff. He's so approachable and listens to people.
With his arrival he's put life and happiness back into what was a dying hotel. His new management team also circulate and are fantastic!
We are so excited for the future!
Ignore any bad reviews!
We will keep returning for as long as we are able
An absolute gem!

I had booked another eight day holiday in another six weeks , before my holiday had finished . Why?
I have traveled for many years as a single, disabled traveler and paid far too much for the pleasure .
The Alborada Ocean Club Is great value, it’s large clean bedrooms, wide corridors and excellent outside walk ways with ramps and handrails ( where needed ) make acess for all easy . Every member of staff met me with a warm smile and they were always extremely helpful .
The large infinity pool stretches out to the sea and it’s wider than most hotel pools are long . The four level area around the pool is spotless with plenty of loungers and shades. I sat and enjoy the sun or just the world going round . Just getting up occasionally for the much needed all inclusive drink and a cooling swim..
The restaurant was amazing with lots of space and the pool and sea views, seemed to make the occasional line of dinners vanish very quickly .
Book direct with them the tariffs are are really competitive and real value for money . And the booking process either on site or by phone is so straight forward
Thank you everyone for making my first, but definitely not my last stay at this superb hotel an holiday to remember. See you soon Alex Pandolfo ✌️

We had a week here all inclusive and met some great people, yes the place needs updating but they are working on it as we could see through the week. We had a fantastic holiday, staff all over from reception bars restaurants and maids were very nice and seemed happy in their job, rooms were very clean and and maid came every day. Food was fine and edible, breakfast was good, you could always get something to eat even fussy eaters, there are bars and restaurants not far as we also visited are couple of restaurants and bars.
Entertainment was fine some good acts and couple of poor ones, plenty of different drinks that were fine. I’ve seen people put on here that the pool is dirty obviously they don’t understand a salt water pool it is not dirty at all and just to make it clear they clean it every week even empty it clean it and refill in less than 12 hours, how many places have you been that do this on a weekly basis, fantastic to see.
The hotel/apartments has a great place on the sea front with a small beach to the side.
We have booked again for March next year that’s how satisfied we were with this hotel and we met people that have been going here for years,
Great value for money as long as you don’t pay over the odds,do some searching on prices and even the hotel directly offer great prices.

KUpeterW, many thanks for your encouraging review. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future. Thank you for clarifying that helpful point about the cleaning of the salt-water pool which is filled from the ocean each week. Very helpful for future travellers to make a decision. Best wishes
