With just five (5) deluxe beach bungalows clustered in a native village atmosphere, these units all offer the laid back and unique feeling of visiting the South Seas of the 1940's. All units front on a wide, white sand beach where the tropical lagoon in front is a national maritime protected area -- and, thus, allows endless snorkeling adventures. All bungalows are separate, free standing, Polynesian designed units. All have coconut thatch roofs, bamboo interior walls, colorful cloth on the ceiling and white sand at each bungalow entry. All are furnished with modern amenities. The property strives to offer the maximum BEACH fun with a 'spirit of the islands'. Nothing here is stuffy, snobby, stainless steel -- just a great secluded location for couples to enjoy the BEACH.

Perfect location, metres from a beautiful, quiet and peaceful beachfront. We had a beachfront unit and the views were spectacular. Great location for snorkelling, if swimming out to the reef it took a couple of wins to find a clear route out but stunning clean water and plenty of fish. Unit was clean and comfortable and hosts were there when needed. Resort next door offers nice meals but book in ahead of time or go to night markets for a good choice and very reasonable charges. Not too close to Muri but we hired a scooter for 70 NZD for the week - used around $10 of petrol with a lot of trips around the island so a great way to get around. Roads are narrow so biking is a bit risky. Managers let us stay beyond check out time while we waited for flight transportation. We will be back at the Beach Bungalows for sure ! One of highlights was Koko cruise - lots of fun.

Can’t say enough good things about this place. The owners were lovely and super helpful, the bungalows were clean, gorgeous and full of character.
We were very surprised that they weren’t all full during our stay as I believe they are very reasonable for the price, so I’m mainly writing this review in the hopes that more people stay here!
A tip - we stayed in a ‘non-beachfront’ bungalow, but you still get a great beach view as they are all staggered, so I don’t think it would be massively worth it to upgrade!
About the place - it’s about a 30sec walk to a beautiful beach which is more or less private. The beach is perfect for snorkelling and kayaking (which are provided for free). The bungalow is spacious with a really nice vibe and the outdoor shower is probably one of the greatest showers I’ve ever used!
Our flight wasn’t until 8pm, but the hosts very generously said we could stay as long as we wanted past checkout as there wasn’t another booking that day. Just another reason why we rate this place and these guys so highly. 10/10!

We had a fabulous relaxed 6 nights here in one of the gorgeous beach front bungalows. Kayla and Paara were a lovely couple who were very focussed on us having the best stay possible. The bungalows are spacious and airy, in rarotongan style and well appointed. I loved being able to lock the trellis screens along the front at night and leave the main doors open to catch the breeze at night. The beach out front was lovely with pristine sand, aquamarine water and coral heads for snorkelling, swimming or kayaking. Our flight wasnt leaving until the afternoon so Paara made the transit bungalow available to leave our bags in which had a shower available so we could have had a swim before departure if we had wanted to. Highly recommend this lovely spot and thanks to Kayla, Paara, Jacqueline and Moana for their warm and friendly hosting and service.

We stayed 8 nights here in June 2024 and loved our beachfront bungalow, Eke. Highly recommend. The bungalow felt roomy and we loved the airflow throughout via levered windows. There were many seating and lighting options. There was a fully equipped kitchen (which we did not use) and excellent eating options a quick walk from the property. Our favourite was the Little Polynesian restaurant a few hundred metres away. We made use of the kayaks and snorkelling gear - all high quality and well maintained. It was very handy to be able to wash our clothes in the laundry room too.

Loved, loved, loved our stay with Teoni and his precious family at Rarotonga Beach Bungalows! It was perfect for us; quiet and great snorkeling right outside the door. They brought us fresh passion fruits which were amazing! Teoni even held onto some excess luggage for us when we went to Aitutaki for our second week and met us with it at the airport before we flew home. We left feeling like family. Can’t wait to go back! It’s our new favorite place!

We spent five nights in the Autere bungalow and loved it! The host and staff were so welcoming and accomodating and made us feel at home. The bungalow was beautiful and thoughtfully decorated in mid-century furniture based on Tahitian bungalows in the 1920s. Staying here was far superior to staying in a hotel as the bungalow was spacious, private and had everything needed to enjoy our holiday - there were even drawers so we could unpack and not live out of a suitcase. As for the beach - it really did feel like our private paradise. The water was crystal clear and great for snorkelling and swimming. There were great restaurants within easy walking distance for lunch and dinner but there is nothing like having your own breakfast enjoying the local fresh fruit (provided by the hosts) and overlooking the beautiful beach every day. We really could not have asked for more from our stay. We were so impressed that the Rarotonga Beach Bungalows will now be our first choice each time we return to the island.

We were lucky to get in here at short notice and so glad we did. Bungalows are spacious, clean with lots of private seating area and fantastic view of the lagoon. Best location on the island in our opinion. Kayaks and snorkelling gear available. Kitchenette well equipped if you want to cook but due to its great location easy to get to cafes and restaurants. Welcome pack of fruit, bread, cereal and wine much appreciated! Paa and Kayla were so helpful before and during the stay. Recommend walking 5 min along the beach to the Little Polynesian for lunch or dinner. A perfect stay in perfect accommodation, would definitely stay here again.

We got to experience a week at this lovely little resort...Everything about it was perfect! The owner, Teoni, greeted us warmly and got us settled in our wonderful beachfront bungalow. There are only 5 units, with personal attention to every detail and need... The staff greeted us each morning with fresh towels, breakfast and lots of smiles. Snorkeling right off the resort was lovely...warm water and tons of fish. We just can’t say enough about our week!

My Wife and I stayed at Rarotonga Beach Bungalows for one week this January and we enjoyed an almost perfect holiday. Our bungalow was spacious, clean and comfortable. The compound consists of 5 bungalows plus a main building so RBB is small and intimate. A full kitchen was a big plus. We loved the indoor/outdoor shower. The staff at RBB were uniformly friendly and helpful. While there were plenty of things to do both nearby and elsewhere on Rarotonga, much of our time was spent lounging and reading on our front porch or out on the beach orelse doing something in the water only 10 meters from our front steps. We snorkeled, took out kayaks and did a lot of walking up and down the beach. Bring beach shoes if you have them.. You'll be thankful.
There's not much to add other than just about all of the people we met anywhere in Rarotonga during this holiday, including the other guests staying at RBB, were gracious, kind and friendly. We very much hope we will be able to return and spend another lovely holiday here in the not too distant future. Meitaki RBB.

We went for one of the beachside bungalows and thought it well worth the extra It was less than a coconut throw to go for our morning swim and the view was divine. Great swimming and snorkelling. Very peaceful (church next door so only saw people on one day) but easy walking distance to a choice of eateries. Charlies Bar one night then Little Polynesian the next for real variety. The breakfast pack you receive on arrival will keep you going, but the supermarket about 4-5 km away is really well stocked including fresh French loaves. Some people might find the design of the bungalow a bit dark, but we loved it. Certainly spacious and well equipped for two people. The staff are really friendly and helpful.

Hi Kimberly!
No, this is a family friendly place to vacation. Family owned, bungalows are very spacious and clean, and the staff (all three of them) are so friendly and helpful.
Have a great time!
Hi kcov, for some reasons your questions went to me (a traveler who wrote review about them), not Rarotonga Beach Bungalows staff. I suggest you contact them again at their website: "rarotongabeachbungalows" , then click "Contact Us". Tripadvisor won't let me answer by including direct link so I had to spell out like above.
That period of the year begins that traditional rainy season in this part of the world. However nothing is predictable in the weather patterns anywhere in the world with the new changing conditions everywhere. We are presently experiencing a colder than normal winter--but who knows in December--could be great and could be rainy--just don't know anymore. Come and enjoy the Cooks--they are great in any weather.
