Yes they brand themselves as luxary accomodation and they certainly are. From teh moemnt you arrive you feel like part of the family. Met with a welcome drink and then escorted to your room. You have access to the kayaks, snorkleing gear, SUP and life jackets. Breaakfast is continental we had this for free as part of our booking, you can also order ala carte if you want something hot but that is extra. Lunch and dinner menus are extensive but light on vegetarian options, mainly a sald or rositto but both are nice. The restaurant is open air of course and beside the pool. even if staying important that you book your dinner table in the morning. Anything with fish in it I would recommend We had one of the beachfront villas, didnt disappoint. There is a shower outside (hot water) so easy to come of the beach and straight into the shower. The bathroom is well appointed, and the views from the bed are of the lagoon. There is a small fridge and Nespresso caoffee machine and tea and coffee supplied. There is an in room safe and lots of wardrobe space, with robes supplied (although they were a bit on the small side) It is on the windy side of the isalnd but that didnt stop us from doing any activities, About 300 metres down the road is a lovely garden that also has a cafe worth a visit for the Cheesecake! You can catch the bus outside the hotel so easy to get into town. we had a car, which made getting around easy and there is a supermarket about 10 minsutes down the road, turn left out of hotel. This is the place to stay on the island, and is set up for couples. The staff are super friendly and no request was ever too much. We will be back.

My wife and I have just returned from our Cook Islands holiday. We chose the Little Polynesian to stay at on Raro and do not regret the choice - it was excellent. The resort is very boutique. In some ways I would describe it as a collection of beachfront huts (and a couple of garden rooms) with a restaurant and pool. It doesn't have a big reception or common area (other than the restaurant), and is adults only. The room was exactly what you would want. Facing directly onto the beach with a good area for swimming out the front. The restaurant was consistently very good and the chef did an amazing job of working around my wifes dietary needs (dairy and gluten free). This even went as far as preparing a seperate little dish for her each morning (without us asking) as part of included breakfast given she couldnt eat the pastries (i did though - and they were good!). The staff were also excellent and I would like to thank them for looking after us whilst we were there. Its pretty well located on the island within easy reach of the Muri beach area (we had a car - 5 mins up the road), but seperate enough to enjoy its own peace and quiet..

If Rarotonga is crowned the 'Emerald Jewel of the Pacific' then the ‘Little Polynesian Resort’ must be the diamond in that crown. We spent ten days staying at ‘Little Poly’ recently and despite some distinctly unsettled weather, the staff at this small but perfectly formed adult only resort made our stay an exceptional one. They were so friendly and helpful to the point where we felt privileged to feel almost like family, being on first name terms with them all, and they with us. Beautifully designed beachfront (actually on the beach it seemed) bungalows with all the facilities, and exceptionally comfortable bed, a small infinity pool and a restaurant looking to palm trees and over the lagoon to the reef. It is a small resort but that is one of its most endearing features producing a very personal feel. The quality, preparation and delivery of the food is amazingly good with the best Tuna Sashimi we have ever tasted and a variety of main courses. The difficulty was in restraining ourselves from eating too much fresh breakfast produce to leave room for lunches and dinners. There are many other eateries on the island, we tried many, but always the Little Poly beat them all. There are many 5 star reviews here for Little Poly …. believe them! Greg, Chantelle, Tom, Miri, Lani, Leba, Juita, April, Florence and the others, not forgetting the relatively unseen but masterful chef(s), all were superb to deal with. A superb place to stay and we shall stay again.

We recently stayed at Little Polynesian while visiting Raratonga . We had a beautiful garden studio room which was equipped with all the amenities that you need . The resort was breathtakingly beautiful with it’s gorgeous gardens and it’s blue pool that stood out behind the giant coconut trees . Chantelle and Greg were very welcoming and always had a warm greeting from the minute we arrived . We felt so welcomed by all the staff . The breakfasts were ample with daily fresh fruits pastry’s and hot beverages . Miri was delightful and we looked forward to see her smiling face each time we dined . Our rooms were kept cleaned and refreshed daily . All in all we had the best time at Little Polynesian and would highly recommend it to anyone. Thank you Mik and Grace

We have dined at their restaurant a number of times but this was the first time we have stayed as well. The restaurant was up to its normal high standard for lunch and dinner but we have also now discovered their great breakfast menu. Really enjoyed the private beachfront room which was spacious, private with a great view of the lagoon and reef. All the staff are very attentive and professional - knowing all guests by name is a nice touch. Highly recommend.

This really is a very special resort. It is a "Couples Only" resort, and only has a total of 14 units, this means you can really relax and enjoy the peace , tranquility and amazing views. We were welcomed by management and shown our room, to find a bottle of wine and gifts to celebrate our anniversary . We had a garden room, spacious and immaculately maintained. The unit has a walled garden back and front so you have total privacy , the only downside is , that the high walls reduce the lovely sea breeze you get with the beach front units. Dining is at the edge of the pool, overlooking the glorious beach and ocean . How do we describe the food ? Excellent. I have some diet issues but this was never a problem for the chef and I thank him for that. Being adult only and small the service is very personal, how lovely to be welcomed by our first name when we came for breakfast or dinner. So many little things that happened like being given iced water to drink if we were sitting at the edge of the pool. , All the staff were amazing so I wont name the staff individually but they were all wonderful. Thank you for a holiday we will always remember.

I went to the Cook Islands in late September 2022 where I mostly stayed in Makayla Palms but for the last two nights in early October 2022 I stayed in the Little Polynesian Resort before I flew back home. The Little Polynesian Resort let’s you check in online to your reservation a couple of days before it starts and they’ll send emails to you with a link to their website so that you can just check in online which is what I did and made the check in go along a lot smoother and easier. I did go to the restaurant in the Little Polynesian Resort for dinner a couple of days after arriving in the Cook Islands when I was still staying in Makayla Palms. I ordered the ika mata - which is the Polynesian version of tuna tartare or sashimi, a fish burger that came with fries and two margaritas. I love the taste of their very fresh ika mata and the fish burger was absolutely delicious. The sauce or marinade that they put in the fish burger tasted so wonderful that I could literally drink a whole glass of it. I loved the two margaritas I drank as well - they were perfectly delicious. The customer service in the restaurant was excellent also and I was served my food and drinks on a very timely manner. That was a very wonderful evening overall in the restaurant in the Little Polynesian Resort because the food was exquisite, the customer service was excellent and I met and spoke with a couple at the table next to mine who were from New Zealand and we were all together and talking until the restaurant was about to close up for the night. Then closer to the end of my trip to the Cook Islands I checked out of Makayla Palms and spent my last two nights in the Little Polynesian Resort where I stayed in one of their garden studios which was Number 11. The garden studio was lovely with a doorway that leads to a quiet little patio area that has two loungers right outside of the front entrance of the garden studio and the patio has high walls that give guests some privacy and inside the garden studio there’s a small table with two chairs in front of the door, to the left of the table with two chairs there’s a small kitchen sink that has glass bottles of filtered water, a cupboard that has glasses, wine glasses, coffee cups and espresso cups, a Nespresso machine with coffee pods and another cupboard under the sink that has a small trash bin, a mosquito coil, matches and a can of Raid bug spray. There’s a lovely large bed in there with a large window right by it, a desk with a chair and a TV right in front of it. The garden studio has a fan and an A/C that felt wonderful and they both come with remote controls. Right before you get to the bathroom there are two closet areas where you can hang up your clothes and a couple of drawers and in one of those drawers is the in room safe. You can walk past that closet area to the bathroom that has a sink, toilet and shower and the bathroom has large glass doors that lead to a patio at the back that has an outdoor shower. All of the plug sockets in the garden studio including the plug sockets in the bathroom are universal and can take plugs from any country without using any adapters. The TV in the garden studio has a small range of Hollywood TV show box sets but it has a very large range of movies and the WiFi in Little Polynesian Resort is very strong and constant. I had to buy Wifi access that came with a login and password from the staff at the front desk and I bought seven days worth of WiFi which was $25.00 NZD because they only offered a few packages of WiFi access regarding the numbers of days at the time. The staff at the Little Polynesian Resort were very polite, professional and helpful including the young gentleman who is the housekeeping manager and Shania the hotel’s manager. I even briefly met Greg the managing director of the Little Polynesian Resort who introduced himself to me. Continental breakfast at the Little Polynesian Resort’s restaurant came with my stay in the garden studio but I had already paid extra for two of the hot breakfasts for my stay when I booked the garden studio online through their website. The breakfast menu looks lovely and I ordered the coconut crepes, the rukau - which are the leaves of the taro plant and sautéed mushrooms for the two mornings that was staying in there and I still received the continental breakfast that came with my stay and the coffee. Breakfast was delicious - I loved sauce or syrup made with fresh berries that was drizzled over the coconut crepes and the rukau and sautéed mushrooms were delicious because they put seasonings in the both of them and the coffee tasted great. Check out at the Little Polynesian Resort is at 10 AM and I paid Shania the manager $25.00 NZD for the flight transfer transportation to go back to the airport when I checked out. I waited at the front of the hotel on the patio for the flight transfer transportation to pick me up and the staff at the Little Polynesian Resort thoughtfully always served me glasses of water with loads of ice while I sat there waiting to be picked up which really helped me to beat the heat. I can’t recommend this wonderful hotel enough and the food in their restaurant is absolutely incredible - seriously my compliments to their chef and their cooks because their food always has plenty of seasonings in it. The customer service was always wonderful all around. I remember the first that I was staying in there I went into a cab outside of the front entrance with a couple of other guests who were also staying in there and we we were going to go to the restaurant on the patio in the Edgewater Resort for dinner and I remember smelling the food from the kitchen of the restaurant in the Little Polynesian Resort wafting out to me and I was wondering if I was making the right decision to eat somewhere else for dinner that evening LOL The food in their restaurant smelled so delicious and thick with spices - just perfect. I would love to return to the Little Polynesian Resort and stay in a beach bungalow next time but I did enjoy my stay in the garden studio though. I very highly recommend staying at the Little Polynesian Resort entirely but even if you don’t stay there then you at least have to have lunch or dinner in their restaurant because the food in there is just too delectable and amazing to pass up. The food for breakfast in their restaurant is absolutely lovely but the food for dinner is even better!

The Little Poly lived up to every expectation we had based on reviews and recommendation by a local. We spent a wonderful week swimming in the logoon, gazing at the sea, and eating our way through most of the dishes on the menu. This place has the sort of understated luxury and attention to detail that most places miss and was flawness in delivering an exceptional holiday experience. The staff really do set the bar high and were without exception a delight to interact with. There was a fantastic chilled out vibe amongst the small number of guests ensuring friendly chat if you were after it, but total seclusion and privacy in your villa. Well done Little Polynesian - we'll be back soon.
