Detailed Reviews
Wonderful hotel in Kampos, in the premises of an old mansion (Riziko) perfectly preserved and renovated. Magnificent orchard with various citrus trees around the yard with the cistern and the well with the traditional maggano; perfect for breakfast or a relaxing evening drink. Easy access from the main roads (GPS helps).
Excellent, spacious, comfortable air-conditioned rooms, great ambience. Small fridge, espresso machine, electric kettle. Big bathroom. Everything impeccably clean.
Very nice breakfast. We especially enjoyed the home made tangerine and rose petals marmalades.
Free parking space in the premises; free wi-fi (good speed)
The owner of the hotel, Manolis Neos, is the kindest, most hospitable person, who knows everything about the history of the island and eagerly offers tips for places to visit, restaurants, activities you may enjoy and everything. Anda as well, always present, kind and caring. We sincerely thank them both.
We hope we will be able to come again in the future.
It's worth the price. We definitely recommend it.

A wonderfully preserved old stone-built mansion in Kampos Chios in an orchard with mandarin and lemon trees. The cool and comfortable room offers exactly what one needs to spend some unforgettable days on the welcoming island of Chios. A bit challenging to access, especially for someone who doesn't know anything about the island and relies only on GPS to get there, as there is a risk of getting tangled up in a maze of narrows between towering walls that barely fit two cars through. But the destination will compensate the visitor as it will transport him to an environment of tranquility and grandeur of the old mansions of Chios. The hotel staff is polite and very helpful in whatever you need.

Excellent stay, quiet environment, immediate service and when we missed breakfast by our own mistake they took care of us. Good morning and wonderful Pstelis who advised us for our stay in Chios with a lot of humor and joy!
We strongly recommend it!

We stayed two weeks during Easter in this beautiful traditional "mansion", which is enclosed by a beautiful garden full of tangerine and orange trees in blossom; and what a wonderful scent from the citrus flowers! We enjoyed our stay very much. The owners were very friendly, kind, generous and helpful. They gave us very good service both when we booked the room and during our stay. The breakfast is served with different local and homemade products, and is very delicious. Unfortunate did not the weather "let" us eat outside in garden area more than a couple of days, but breakfast is served in nice surroundings in the main building. Our room was clean, beautiful furnished and spacious. We have for many years spent our Easter and summer holidays on Chios , but it is the first time we stay in Riziko. We did not find the property difficult to find in Kambos; it seems well signposted, but Kambos is like a charming "labyrinth", which makes it a bit more difficult to "navigate" when it is dark. The short distance to the airport is ideal, particularly if you, like us, have to take the early morning flight to Athens.

+1
The Archontiko Riziko is a complex of guest rooms set in a beautifully refurbished traditional 'mansion' near the capital on Chiod in the norther east Aegean. The orginal buildings were the home and outbuildings of the proprietors of a business growing and exporting citrus fruit - for which hios was once famous. The trees remain and the orchards form the backdrop to the property.
The rooms have been nicely created from the old buildings and are large and well appointed. Care has been take to provide each block with outdoor space and privacy.
The communal garden areas are lovely with great drifts of lavendar and outdoor seating set in a paved area where the owners ahve rebuilt the water wheel which once provided irrigation for the orange and mandarin trees.
Breakfast is all local produce and provided in the main building.
The owner is very friendly and willing to sow you the local sights. But the true star is his sister, Eleni, who went out of her way to show off her home island. Very informative and immensely kind.
The only draw back is that the property is a bit difficult to find - but that is typical of the Kambos area.

We stayed at this hotel for a week during Greek Easter. It is located in Kambos which is a very pretty area with stone mansions and an abundance of citrus trees. The estates are hidden behind stone walls and are connected through a maze of narrow winding roads.
Chios does not have the best road signs but following the owner's directions, we found the hotel without a problem. It is very close to the airport but there is not much air traffic so noise from the planes is not an issue. What we did hear a lot were birds singing and nothing else.
Our room (Iris) was in the corner and had a couple of windows looking out. They had screens and we could open them for some delicious fresh air without inviting bugs in. Our double bed was very comfortable and there was enough closet space for all our clothes. There was also a safe and a small fridge, a desk, a TV and a DVD player.
The room was cleaned every day and our towels were changed daily too. I could detect the scent of orange blossoms on our linens, which were also changed frequently. As we had a couple of cold days, we used the AC unit for heating. It worked great. For the cold days a comforter and a blanket are also available.
Breakfast was OK and when it got a little warmer we took it at the garden. A nice touch was that they offered to prepare grilled cheese and turkey sandwich and the boiled eggs were always warm. The garden is a very relaxing area. One could spend hours reading surrounded by trees and birds.
You don't have to worry about parking as the hotel has its own parking area.
The owner and the staff were very friendly and hospitable. All their recommendations were spot on. It was very sweet of Manolis to drive us around Kambos and give us all the details about the area and its mansions.
We were very happy with our choice and if we return to Chios we'll stay here again.
Tip: One of the reasons we visited during Easter was that we wanted to see the rocket wars at Vrontados. Although we had a rental, wanting to avoid to drive in the madness, we arranged for a radio taxi to drive us there and at a certain time pick us up and drive us back. It was the best idea!
