...we felt welcome and enjoyed top dinners in a small and highly personal envIronment with nice rooms, and close to a few unknown gems off udual tourist path Chapeau to Frau Hoeck and her well trsined team that made us feel home
My husband and I are pretty active when we are on vacation, so I was a bit concerned about what to do in three days in such a remote place, but.... it ended up being a perfect getaway. As soon as we stepped in we felt right at home, warmly welcomed with a delicious hot tea while we checked in. Our host, Mr. Honecker, showed us around the property and gave us some great recommendations for hiking, which was very enjoyable even in winter. We had all our dinners in the main restaurant, and all were excellent. Wine pairing were among the best we ever had. On our last night, the chef -Ms. Teubler- prepared a special menu for us so that we didn't have to repeat any dishes. In summary, an unforgettable experience. We'll definitely be back soon.
3 days in heaven, silence, perfect service, kindness, honesty, wonderful SPA and beauty care, restaurant a little too expensive, brekfests could be better if more choice of dishes.Anyway ,it is charming place, our suite was very nice. Thanks to all staff for kindness and service. We are very glad for those 3 nights. We shall try to return there next year to make" our souls fly again".
Everything in the hotel invites you to relax and enjoy the time spent there. All staff were very welcoming and attentive to our wishes. Rooms are comfortable, well appointed, with care for details. The views from our room of the surrounding park were beautiful. We loved the castle building with its history and mysterious atmosphere.
Stayed in the blue suite for a night. The rooms were enormous and the furnishings curated to suit the slightly fussy 19th century feel of the place. They had some port and a small cake waiting in the room when we arrived. A very quiet stay - there aren’t many rooms here. And not much in the hotel besides the restaurant. There is a wellness centre with a small pool that you need to ask reception for a key to enter. The grounds were quite nice. There are trails leading through pastures with lovely views. But it seemed like members of the public can access these trails as well. Most of the materials in the room and on the property were only in German language and only a few staff seemed to speak it. No a/c in the rooms. It was a bit warm in the summer heat.
My wife and have read an article about Burg Schlitz last year in Canadian Magazine and since were amazed by the ambient and luxury this one of a kind hotel had to offer. We were lucky enough to book 2 nights and with already high expectations, we were not let down. The staff is extremely attention to detail oriented. The rooms are very spacious and clean at all corners. The high lite of our stay was having dinner in the Wappensaal. The staff is highly educated and super professional. This hotel is the perfect place for romantic getaway. What an amazing place.... Thanks again for hosting us.
Very nice and romantic hotel with a lot of atmosphere. The hotel was recommended to us from a winemaker from Mosel. The room was spacious and elegant and the bed very comfortable. The service was very focused and friendly - both at the reception and in the two restaurants. Wellness area is nice and clean, but this is not a wellness hotel as such. Absolutely recommendable.
Having stopped off for lunch a few weeks earlier, we decided to treat ourselves to an overnight stay and to experience the fine dining in the Wappensaal restaurant. The hotel is a delight. The staff are charming and not intrusive. The Fine dining lived up to expectations. Each course was exquisite and the wine pairing exceptional. Why this restaurant doesn't have a Michelin rating is a puzzle? Would certainly recommend and will definitely return.
A great place in an idyllic surrounding. Comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. The absolute highlight of our 3 night stay were the dinners in the restaurant (try to get a table in the red saloon - much more intimate then the main room). Not exactly cheap but worth every penny. There wasn't a single dish we didn't love! Go with the wine pairings and discover an interesting range of German wines. There were some quirks, but really nothing major. We had to get internet access codes every day with a user name and a password (why not make it freely accessible??). Shampoo bottles in the bathroom weren't replaced until we asked for it. Same with the coffee pods for the espresso machine.
Burg Schlitz is a family owned and operated luxury boutique hotel situated in beautiful Mecklenburg- Vorpommern and close to incredibly beautiful lakes like The Muritz and not far from the stunning capital Schwerin with its fantastic royal Palace. You can clearly see the love and pride with which this hotel is managed. We were very fortunate to stay in one of the suites that were part of the apartments of the von Schlitz family. Burg Schlitz which is an architectural masterpiece by itself is surrounded by one of the most beautiful parks you can imagine and it is very clear that there is a strong commitment by the owners to maintain everything to the highest standards. Housekeeping like all services provided are truly exceptional. They serve a lovely breakfast and lunch in the garden restaurant but the " piece de resistance" is their Michelin star restaurant - I would truly recommend it.…
