We had been talking about continuing on to Freiburg but stopped at this gasthof on a lark. We didn't speak any German and there was a little confusion initially over credit card payment. Resolved quickly, and we took a large (handicapped accessible) room in a newer building of theirs. Simple, but nice and clean. Excellent dinner and quite a good...

This guesthouse was booked from information gained from its website. What a disappointment. We aren't sure when the photographs were taken but what we encountered bore absolutely no resemblance to what was shown there. The accommodation was not up to the standard that we were expecting, very tired, basic rooms, small, outdated and not very clean shower rooms (the shower...

This is a beautiful hotel in a remote, lovely area. We were visiting a friend who lived nearby so this was our reason for finding this hotel. The rooms are immaculate, breakfast was very good. Communicating was a little difficult as the couple does not speak English, but we managed. They do not accept credit cards and there is no...

I stayed for one night. The proprietor, looking a bit like a young Basil Fawlty, spoke no English and was very well intended, but not too professional. The rooms are old school and dated, but quite clean. The bathrooms need modernising and the shower is minute. Hot water took about five minutes to arrive. The towels are very small, and...

Dear Christine and Steve Thanks for your comment and your visit! We hope you had a good journey back home. Our hotel is pretty small at the moment, this is why the reception is not opened 24 hours, but we offered you to pay everything before you leave and gave you the chance to keep the keys till the morning...

“The owners do not speak English. Also, there is no wifi. A new multiple story unit is being added on this property. The magnitude of this addition is rather surprising as this area seemed very remote to us. We were visiting a friend who lives on a farm in the Black Forest. Perhaps this area is a get-a-way place for people from cities. The area is remote and lovely.”
