Detailed Reviews
This has to be the best stay for me in Bandarawela. Starting from the location, which is within the city it self everything was perfect. Although the country was coming to terms with the COVID-19 second wave, hotel staff made every possible effort to make our stay enjoyable and safe (most impotently).
Rooms had ample space and the food was amazing (since there were not many guests, our meals were arranged thru "À la carte"). And the garden that they maintain is extraordinary. The amount of commitment they put into maintaining that is a clear indication of their dedication. If anyone is interested in going to Bandarawela for a vacation, this hotel is the place.

The hotel staff took all Covid precautions extremely seriously and were well equipped to handle the needs of their guests. The food was excellent and the hospitality extended by the staff made our stay even more relaxing and enjoyable.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, giving all of us the rest we needed. The karaoke bar provided hours of entertainment, with the staff ready and available to cater to our requests.
The Tranquil Garden allowed most of us who had to work online the space and peace to work remotely in a serene location. The ideal place to visit during these times!

We have recently run a 4-week residential training event at Orient Hotel on an exclusive basis Excellent service across the board: health and safety, exemplary Covid19 compliance, security, wide range of food options (not easy over 4 weeks with the same group!). providing in-house recreation options on the non-working days and a number of additional services they have voluntarily etc. The entire hotel staff were very responsive to our particular needs to the extent that we felt they were part of our team!!! The garden BBQ party on the last night was the perfect way to wrap up 4 very intensive weeks. Sincere thanks go to the GM and the entire Orient team for all their attentiveness and hard work, which most definitely contributed to the success of the course. I cannot recommend the Orient highly enough!

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights/3days quite recently and I really liked the place. Although it's in close proximity to the town centre, the tranquil atmosphere that prevails inside makes you wonder if you are in the hill country wilderness. The hotel is architecturally designed to have 3 floors, which blends with the terrain. The beautifully landscaped large garden, overlooking the city is in level with the 3rd floor. This is an ideal place to chill-out in the evening and the open air bar is located here.
The rooms and the toilets are clean and are equipped with all common amenities. The most striking feature about this hotel is it's extremely friendly, obliging and supportive staff. Meal plans are very flexible and the food is very tasty with delectable culinary specialties. They observe the Covid 19 guidelines to the letter and the staff too are well versed with all precautionary measures. Well worth the money spent and highly recommended.

It was one of the best holidays we've ever had. The rooms were fantastic, the food was delicious, the staff were curtious, the offroad trekking organised by the hotel ably advised by the hotel director Revatha Hettiarahchi was a once in a lifetime experience. Planning to return as soon as possible.

I had my wedding in Bandarawela and Orient Hotel accommodated my family and put together an amazing garden cocktail party! The staff was excellent, hygienic and sanitized all our rooms and bags, clean rooms, food was superb with a major selection. The Staff and Managers go above and beyond to make their guests feel at home almost like family, they are trained well with exceptional hospitality. The Tranquil Garden is exactly what it states, “tranquil” with beautiful flowers and greenery. One of the best hotels in Bandarawela and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to stay in Bandarawela. Will only stay here if I go to Bandarawela again

In the centre of the IT hub is a nice and easily accessible hotel. My request is that the hotel does not charge a high amount for things like water bottles. The food at the hotel is very good, but my suggestion is to decrease the cost of basic items like water bottles at the cafe. I charged 120 rupees for a water bottle but did not pay. The staff is very helpful and the manager Mahesh has a very good nature and understanding attitude to me. He offers me one water bottle but I ignore it. Nice hotel to stay next time I sure visit

Responded Dec 24, 2022
Dear Guest, Thanks very much for taking the time to write a positive review of our hotel. We are pleased to read your positive comments on the hotel location and staff and are very happy that you will stay again with us. Unfortunately due to high inflation in our country, our water bottle costs have gone up but I will forward your concerns to our management to see if we can look into ways to reduce costs for our customers. We look forward to seeing you again, Orient Hotel

Great value, clean, comfortable rooms, motel and site well maintained. Staff is polite, friendly and along with manager Jimmy, par excellence. They met and exceeded my expectations including enforcing strict Covid 19 restrictions with guests and staff. along with social distancing at all times. During this pandemic, I can honestly say I trust the people, the place and their practices to ensure my safety and comfort.
