We enjoyed a fantastic stay at this beautiful and well located hotel. The friendliness and support of the staff is exemplary and seemingly effortless what made our stay very enjoyable and relaxing. The restaurant serves high quality foods and wines and the atmosphere is impeccable. This is a hotel where 'service' is not a buzz-word but a well trained philosophy.
This past week my associate and I had the pleasure of staying in this hotel for two nights. The first thing we noticed was how wonderful the front desk people were upon our arrival. The rooms were small, but exceptionally clean and modern. The breakfast was wonderful and the wait staff was one of the best I've ever seen. My only issue I had was leaving. It was a great experience and I will definitely use their hotel next time we are doing business in the Milan area. The airport was an easy 45 minute drive.
The hotel is as described, wonderful location and facilities. Our room was large, the bed was comfortable and full queen size. Bathroom modern and a large room. We ate at the restaurant which was good food. We had half board and it gave us most of the a la carte menu to choose from. Breakfast was more than adequate with lots of choice.
We love everything about this hotel and we try to visit at least once a year. The hotel is situated in a beautiful, peaceful location which is perfect for visiting all the destinations around Lakes Maggiore and Orta. It is beautifully maintained and clean. The staff are courteous and helpful and the whole team are focused on making your stay as relaxed and enjoyable as possible. The food is of a good standard and is prepared and served with love and attention to detail. The pool is perfect for a relaxing day spent at the hotel and there are also beautiful gardens to enjoy. We would certainly recommend a stay in the Hotel Cortese - you won't be disappointed and you will probably become regulars like us! We feel completely at home here - it's delightful.
We have been in hotel Cortese for the third time. We love this cosy hotel with an excellent, very attentive and caring staff, an excellent restaurant with service at its best. The location on the verge of the mountains is calm and inspiring. Nevertheless, lake Orta or Lago Maggiore are not far away. We will surely come back!!
Recently refurbished hotel. V comfortable bed, quiet room, great nights sleep. Bathroom very modern. Staff very helpful. We had half board, dinner one night. Selection was very limited. We should possibly have asked if there another menu. There doesn’t appear to be much in Armeno village, except a beautiful romanesque church and a bar in the centre. Behind the hotel, there is a lovely walk through the woods (percorso di vita), ask at reception for a map. Enjoy!
Hotel Cortese is a very nice hotel on a quiet location. Rooms are spacious, clean and modern. The shower in the bathroom has a thermostatic valve, which is ensures a constant comfortable water temperature. The garden is well maintained with beautiful flowers, a fountain and a small swimming pool. It's a great place to relax. The staff was very helpful providing us with information about places to visit. Breakfast was excellent, as was the dinner. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the situation is a bit different, but Cortese has found the perfect balance between safety and comfort. For breakfast you can choose whatever you want from the extensive buffet which is being served for you. There is also a menu from which you can choose a plate with fresh products such as ham, cheese, all kinds of eggs, toast,... You can eat breakfast outside on the quiet terrace. Dinner is also being served outside. If weather does not permit to do so, dinner is inside in a large room, with enough distance between the tables and all the big windows and doors to the terrace are opened to ensure ventilation. Being a spacious hotel with not too many rooms and very good attention to the safety of the visitors during breakfast and dinner, this is is simply a perfect place to enjoy a quiet vacation in all comfort and safety.…
Very friendly staff at reception on check in, good standards with COVID-19 checks and explaining the rules around the hotel. Room nice and clean and bed was comfortable. Bathroom nice and large also shower is very large and pressure was a good standard! Breakfast is a good buffet with a menu which you can order from the kitchen. First day we could order more than one item then the next day got told we could only order one item of the cooked menu. This should be written on the menu and also explained properly and another customer was able to order more than one dish on the same day but from a different waiter who obviously didn’t know this also being a buffet there shouldn’t be a limit on what you can eat. Pool is nice and big, open from 8am but both mornings I went to have a swim before breakfast the cleaner was there once at 830-920am and the next morning again at 830am with his vacuum in the pool. This I was not happy about if your going to clean the pool please don’t do it during hours of operation. Pool towels were offered but at an extra charge so you might want to take your own towels. The gym is nice and big, very fresh as it’s in the basement. Equipment is ok nothing flash there is only one dumbbell another would be handy but good for body weight exercises and enough room for yoga and other stretching they have a bike and treadmill aswel.…
We stayed here back in July 2019 for 5 days. The hotel is located away from the lakes but within a short drive of Lake Maggiore and Orta. The hotel is beautifully looked after, with attention to detail everywhere. It was immaculately presented in all areas. The pool was perfect and the sun loungers were new and very comfortable. But perhaps the most outstanding thing about the hotel and attached restaurant ( Restaurant Verum) was the staff. Two of the waiters we met were exceptional,Giovanni and Andrea excelled. The food that Chef Marcel Micotti produced was incredible, the best Italian food we have ever eaten anywhere. The barman Mario was equally charming and knowledgeable about wines and cocktails and it was always enjoyable being around his bar. So all in all we had a fabulous 5 days here and will revisit when we can. Thanks all for making our stay so enjoyable.…
Small, quiet and well-appointed hotel on outer border of Armeno, very well situated for walking, road or cycle touring closer to Orta than Maggiore, easy 45m drive from Malpense. Simple clean rooms, simple ample breakfast, more tasty dinner menu but not over fussy. Devastating grappa selection. Concierge, restaurant and bar staff were well-presented, knowledgeable, friendly and fluent. Decent pool, plenty of parking, interesting fitness trail into the adjacent woods.
